<< Rated PG >> Luche tripped. Again.
Once more the ditzy demoness fell flat on her face, legs & all four arms flailing clumsily as she landed. She wanted to burst out crying, but instead just sniffled as she pushed herself up for what must have been the fifth time so far. Sure was a great thing she was so tough, or she might've snapped a horn or something!
It seemed like not so long ago when the glowy circle-y light showed up in her room(prison) and Luche got sucked in and thrown out here! That was really fun! At first. But then she felt weird and shivery, like after the others were done beating her up again and left her in a corner -- only worse, because it didn't hurt but also wouldn't stop!
Where was the all the lava and fire, all the heat? And what was up with all that clear stuff that stung and sizzled when it touched her? Why was this place so... so... cold? That seemed like the right word for it. Maybe--
Luche felt her hoof knock something hard, and despite flailing her arms for balance she face-planted for the sixth time today into the dirt. This time, there was no stopping the crying, and in frustration she kicked the thing that tripped her. The poor log cracked in half, its uprooted end rolling slightly away from Luche, whom snorted in annoyance.
Sniffling back tears, she gathered herself next to a boulder and curled up, her tattered bat-like wings wrapped around her. So far as she knew, there'd been no one around for a long time; the last place she'd been to had run her out, threatening to really hurt her if she showed up again! She'd only taken that yummy-smelling bowl because she was hungry!
That wet stuff was falling on her again, making Luche... cold all over; it rolled on her obsidian skin, sizzling into steam when it hit the red glowing cracks that spiderwebbed around her body, tickling her nose when she breathed. Her tummy growled. Something she had eaten a while ago had made her all achey and she'd lost her first meal in who-knew-how-long.
Luche was not having fun, not at all.

Someone had enjoyed watching the misery of a being so classically sinister. How easily was the dark being brought down in this drab weather. The stormy weather was always annoying, but it seemed to practically bring pain to the poor multi-limbed from much much warmer reigions.
As fun as it was to watch, she, *sigh* she supposed she should help. Her stupid better nature was practically turning her into a tour guide for any beings so clearly out of sorts that they surely had not been born in this place. Where was her umbrella? Oh right, it was full of holes cause in anger she'd spilled corrosive acid on it. The handle was okay over all at least. Perhaps she could use that for something. Slender olive hued hands tore the remains of the hood from the bamboo handle of her umbrella. transforming the bamboo stick into a new umbrella wasn't working. She'd always had less influence than her acursed mother, may she burn forever. Oh well. Guess she was doing this the old fasioned way. The watcher let her tail out, her thick fluffy exotically patterned tail, and transformed that into a broad leaf shaped canopy which she held over her head to stave off some of the rain. It was no fun messing with her fur like this, but better than getting all the way wet as she made her way silently down into the lower lands. She made no sound, gliding even through the gloom like a shadow until she was positioned to crouch on the support behind the crying demoness, ans spread her flattened and enlarge tail wide enough to provide rain protection for two.
"You're really out of your element today huh hun?" She asked. Turning to look would reveal a girl who looked no older than 14 at most, a late bloomer, slender and skinny, and with no pronounced curves. She crouched like a frog on the boulder above, and yet there was a felineness to her features. Her eyes reflected the availible light, and she certainly had cat ears, nearly in the neko-like way. As if holding a yo-yo, she dangled an eerie purple light lower. The thing made everything around it look more sickly and sinister than before, and in this light didn't add much more than a small sphere of illumination.

Luche glanced up, more out of confusion as to why the 'wet' stuff stopped hitting her than the chattering welcome uttered by the strange girl who appeared out of the darkness. It was difficult to be surprised by the person before her, but Luche remained tentative to speak with them. What if it was another trick?
But that girl was also keeping the 'wet' stuff off of her. And that light -- so pretty! It was almost mesmerizing! Maybe she wasn't so mean after all?
Luche didn't want to scare her off yet by babbling infernal, but her Standard was barely legible; as she spoke, her words slurred and hung, but the demoness managed to fumble out "Is bad place. Very cold. Yucky." She didn't quite know what else to say, nor what the other girl wanted of her. Was she going to get a beating for this? Luche wasn't sure how to feel about that right now...

The yokai chuckled. Very out of her element indeed, proven most by the continued complaints about the terrain and climate. "If you think this is cold, you won't last the winter. Where are you even from dearie thats so much hotter?" She taunted in a teasing manner, that could equally be answered in jest or all seriousness. Either way would be informative. It was the warm season in Eokia after all. The way the temperature would get later on in the season would only be cooler than this as nights wore on.
No blows would come. Izune was in a patient enough mood to tolerate the odd way the demon spoke, and be forgiving of some potential misunderstandings. Of course if the female got violent towards her it would be a totally different story. The cat could hold a grudge. Instead she offered. "Lets get you out of the rain and beside a proper fire. Even that might be a little cold in comparison to what the other was used to, but it might take a while to find somewhere warmer than what natural flames might offer.

Luche twisted her head up and around. She didn't seem flustered, at least not until a fat raindrop slid around the shield above her and fell right into her eye, causing the demoness to yelp and rub at it. Her hands exposed a redish patch when she pulled away, although it healed up rather quickly. "Home?" she poised quizzically, not quite understanding quite the purpose of the question.
At the mention of 'fire', however, her face lit up (not literally). "Oh!! Have fire!! Without further adieu, Luche raised her hands and summoned a flame into her hands; whether by force of will, or merely because she rolled a natural 20, at least the size of her head, hot as a blacksmith's forge. It certainly heated the area nicely, sizzling away any rain around her -- possibly a bit too nicely for Izune's tastes.

"Yes, where's home?" The yokai asked with a slightly annoyed bluntness. That was the exact answer she was probing for. It felt like she had to spell things out to this stranger.
Izune jumped away from the demoness, leaving the icy rain to pour down in full force and batter the flames with a hiss of distaste at the sudden extreme heat. "Not in this rain silly. that defeats the point." The bakeneko spat, mildly upset by having her fur ending up singed that close to the flames. "Think before you act."

It took poor Luche a moment to realize that the fire was actually harming the other girl, and had enough control to deplete its size to that of a baseball as warm as a campfire. She set it in her lap, not sure how exactly to get rid of it other than tossing it away, though she wasn't ready for that. Rain hissed off her hide, and having at least learned her lesson before, she did not look upwards again until the rain stopped pattering off of her.
"Sorry," she murmured, toying with the flaming ball like a rubber ball. Her mind slowly churned over the previous question, which took a not-insignificant amount of time. Finally, infuriatingly, she stated "Iunno. Put me in room after I open eyes. Always hot. Then glowly circle open. Then I here." Luche didn't know how to describe it. It always had been for her, she hadn't experienced anything other than her room before now.

Izune did not come back over, nor bother to act as an umbrella again for the time being. She stood behind the rock her arms crossed over her chest, resting her weight mostly on her left foot and wearing a slight scowl. She swept her tail, which was now in its normal shape, over the muddy the ground without touching the actual surface, as she tolerated the cool rain thst pounded on her olive hued skin. Dislike it as she may it was still just rain. It was pretty harmless in most cases, for most people even for those who didn't like the sensation of it.
"Now lets get you out of this rain." The yokai repeated, as that point in her previous words had essentually ended up overlooked. There was no good reason to continue standing in the rain when there were dryer places one might be izune began to walk back the way she had come hoping that miss clearly clueless about the world would actually take the hint and bother to follow.

Luche cocked her head to the side, blinking drops that were once again slapping her in the face. She had nowhere else to go. And this sizzling wet stuff really sucked.
The ditzy demoness clambered over the rock that the nice girl had been on (which took several attempts, amazingly; "just going around" simply didn't occur to her), and toddled after her.

She did not stop nor did she slow. If the ditzy demoness ended up getting too tripped up she would be left behind.
At least Izune struck a firm course. She favored higher ground, knowing full well that they were heading against the wind, thus the rain guaranteed to feel worse and not better.
At least until the rocky outcropping was reached.
It was not a cave, but most of the rocks were angled in such a way as to keep rain out of the spaces beneath them. It was already a bit of a living space, with musty pelts piled high in one dry corner and damp firewood piled up in another. Intermixed in amongst them were unusual odds and ends which had belonged to the previous occupant, who had been here recently but was not present now.

Unfortunately, Luche's journey was interspersed with more tripping and faceplanting, but she managed to follow, somehow. She certainly wasn't following on the nice lady's heels; probably took a solid ten minutes longer than the nice lady did. And yet the haphazard hellspawn wasn't crippled by her mishaps.
At least this small, cramped place had was a wall on top. That kept the falling wet stuff out! But now Luche felt... oddly nervous about entering all the way. Instead of wandering inside, she squatted by the entrance, wings drawn around herself. For some reason, the enclosed space made her nervous.
Maybe it was too much like home.

Izune made busy setting up wood for a fire, picking out the dryer pieces as she went to use at least as starter fodder.
"Do you want to sit there getting wet?" The yokai asked once the demoness had clearly settled herself and seemed uninclined to enter the alcove further. The yokai wouldn't force Luche to do anything but it seemed mighty miserable out there.

A dissonant bong echoed behind the gusts of wind, as though a tower bell had been struck in just the wrong way. Through darkness shed by overcast clouds and driving rains, a beacon of golden light spun across the landscape, piercing through the rocky wooded gloom. Though it ran a straight course the ray shuddered, rotating around on an unseen axis.
The sound came again, deeper, louder, the vibrations causing small pebbles to shake on the ground; the beam searched and spread once more, brighter, wider, casting long, wavering shadows of its own.
A third round did not come. Instead, footsteps could be heard pattering in the gravel and the mud, a skittering and splashing that somehow mixed bootsteps with vermin scramblings.
A glow began to rise out of the shadows, dim, soft, vaguely round, focused around what appeared to be a hovering, fist-sized pyramid, the ever-rotating solid emitting a constant low hum.
The pyramid would appear from behind the other side of the outcropping, followed fast by small, dark hands that grabbed at the rocks. A tall, thin creature flung itself into the shelter, dripping water stained black by the ash that muddied its surfaces. Atop an ebony snaith a steel blade was scraped against the stone, inky toes brushing up against a pile of musty pelts.
A forked tail tipped in arrowheads flicked out from behind, and the squiggly-limbed scythe hopped aboard the soft pile, letting its legs dangle and kick.

Even with the invitation, Luche was unsure. She remained where she was, not quite fully inside but scooting forward to stay out of the rain. For whatever reason, she remained nervous about venturing any further.
Then her entire world became noise.
The first startled her so badly that the poor demoness screeched in terror, nearly toppling her over as she flailed comically to stay upright, her eardrums were acoustically assaulted. Having only barely managed to keep her balance, the second laid her out flat on her stomach.
Her "little" fireball, which she had carried with her the entire way and had burned down to the size of a large meatball, slipped out of her hands, bouncing & rolling across the floor until it leapt into the firewood pile; immediately it disappeared and the wood caught, casting eerie glows around the cavern.
Something passed over her head, but she could hardly hear anything with her ears ringing as they were. There was light at one end -- pretty! -- and suddenly a new friend at the other! Or maybe not!friend. The newcomer made Luche wary, giving her that odd queasy feeling she didn't like having.
For the moment, she stared blankly at them, clearly uncomprehending as to what was going on. Not that such a state of mind was anything new to her...

A loud noise like That was unnatural in this place. The yokai flattened her ears at the sound. It would have been far worse if the rain wasn't so strongly dampening some of the nightly echoes.
Then footsteps.
The yokai positioned herself defensively, an eye towards the sound of the steps. It could be the actual 'owner' of this alcove although chances there were very low due to the fact that it smelled vaguely like humankind, and the steps didn't match for that.
Indeed it was a strange sight coming, first glowing triangle than noodley scythe. How curious.
The yokai suddenly ducked as Luche's fireball ran out of control, bouncing around on the damp stone until it ran into the woodpile, setting it ablaze. "Take it easy you twit." Izune scolded, a growl edging her voice. Luche was a demon, and yet the lass had been so easily startled by this?
Talk about disaster waiting to happen
