❖ SEM
Eyes opened slowly, but there was nothing new to see. He was floating nearby a burning star, the universe quiet, himself quite content.
He could do anything he chose to imagine for amusement. The potential was foreseeably endless, yet he didn't mind being lazy. He didn't mind mulling over the weird dream he had had.
A bird made out of triangles had been telling nonsense quips to an old man in sky blue robes who'd been wearing his beads, except they had been actually on a string. Then at some point the two had gotten into a verbal fight, speaking in the most nonsensical language known to sem, as the language was geometrically written out on the walls around them. IT cheered both sides on until that very same IT tore itself into one long ribbon, accompanied by the sound of breaking glass.
What could it ever mean? Sem only knew of his beads, the old man, and of course IT nothing of the rest of the symbolism.
Sem looked around, first casually then he saw the absence of something that should have been there.
A deep set fear of impending doom settled in sem's gut. His beads were gone. Without then he was doomed to implode.
psychological processes caused his form to waver from the boyish humanoid shape he was usually in to something increasingly amorphous. His mind made up the known signs, increased gravitational pull, an inability to keep normal morphs, etc. They were mentally induced but felt very real to him.
Where were they?
He looked around the immediate area, frantically twisting and turning, scanning the star-fields for even a hint about the six round beads and the six fang beads.
Nothing.
He had to go backwards, and quickly. He might only have a limited time to find out what happened before he reverted to his base state of a normal black hole. He only vaguely knew what it might be like to be an unmodified singularity. He didn't want to give up the majority of his freedom.
He rushed into the void realm, the space between dimensions searching and scanning for the beads he had worn since day one of his humanoid existence.
Not here.
Not there.
Only fear kept him from willingly collapsing into a singularity such as the sort he'd ended up as before when sanctuary's antimagic...
Right...
He couldn't be truly alive right now.
He'd resorbed the beads and then.... Memory went blank after that.
The singularity disappeared from sight. Either he would find out what had happened or...
Well he better find out what happened.
And for that he needed to track down the number, wherever it was.
