As she rattles off a very specific list of instructions, I ponder to myself whether I should be surprised or glad or both. I eventually decide on glad, after all, she had no small connection to the Sidereal Exalted to convince a sifu to teach her not one, but two Sidereal Martial Arts. Really, that she didn't know more about our work and system was strange, considering her innate ease and knowledge of the fundamentals of Sidereal astrology. Laughing, I nod. "Very well, I'll wait. Still, it would be nice if you'd be able to talk to me without constantly losing focus like that." It was rather disconcerting, though it wasn't something I wasn't used to. But usually, it was easy to tell that someone was overly burdened by activity and work, and they could be avoided and allowed to finish what they were doing in peace. But not her. No, she was always working, or preparing for the next work. It wasn't healthy...I was a Creation-renowned relationship doctor, and it's too bad that her Lunar never came to me about this, because I'm pretty sure I could have fixed their problems quickly, and it's core was obviously the extreme overwork she placed on herself and the survivor's guilt that spawned it. Still...working on that could wait for another time.
Still...she missed something subtle about Astrology that should help inform her about the process. After all, she was limited, and yet, needed a near fundamental understanding of it at it's core. "But as interesting as it is that you know as much as you do, that really wasn't necessary. Though, I'll keep in mind you want the Hound-Chases-Rabbit blessing...after all, when you have sufficient will, it's easier to really give it your all, isn't it?" He laughs. "It's not a big deal. It's actually entirely different from the trouble of applying a Destiny to a land of mortals. After all, the main concern with that is, was, and hopefully will soon cease to be the absolute conniption fit the Spiders would go into on such a request. Not so when applying an effect on one of the Solar Exalted, they wouldn't dare seek revenge for aid to someone of power."
Nodding easily as she returns our little arrangement to leave opinions of surprise according to our stations, I shrug. "I think you should take the work you do at the pace you prefer. If you would have more satisfaction and joy from devoting yourself to a single project from start to finish, as many in this world do, I wouldn't dream of encouraging you to step away from it. After all, it's that drive, that passion, that has doubtlessly led you onward, positive motivation that guides you just as you may be nipped at the heels by other factors." As she offers the creation of another Palace, I'm just about to nod and say that yes, I would very much like to continue the nap...it seemed that choice had been taken away from me. How blase. Still...it was an opportunity to tease her for it, and perhaps to show that she had a bit more work to get out of that Solar groove than she may have expected. Yawning, I head inside the palace, eager to get some much-needed sleep.
"But of course, your radiance." I say, taking a deep bow that was only very narrowly sarcastic. It was a gesture I might have done for many a beautiful lady, but in this context, implied a bit of the servitude that other denizens of Creation show to the ones who bear the Creation-Ruling Mandate. The difference between Exalts that she seemed fit to ignore, but yet, didn't. "I'm sure you know best." I say, smiling as I acquiesce to her words. In this context, it wasn't as if it was out of sorts. After all, she likely did see plainly the exhaustion on my face. But still...I just hoped to get her asking that question herself. What was it that made her feel so much more confident in what was best for someone than the individual themselves?
