He didn't doubt when the other said that real light would burn this place down, I mean there are probably beings out there that can flick their finger and make the universe implode or something. There are many things out there that he has yet to see or experience and the mere thought of them shakes him with excitement. The only other place the man has been to was Sanctuary and that place was as boring as a fight between a worm and a rat.
A light smirk plastered on the mans face as he heard the youngster talk about how boring the place of the goodies would be. The man can't even imagine a place like that, a place where all everyone does is sit around bonfires and sing songs...or something...he can't really imagine what goodies do. Putting the book down on the table, next to the empty glass, he will start walking towards the heavily curtained window. Lifting a hand he will grab on to them and pull them slightly back so that he can see state of the street. It's mostly empty - for now - but you can steal hear slight screams in the distance. As Malik was preparing to leave, the man will speak up while still looking through the window.
"Looks to me like you have to options. You either stay and have a taste of the place or follow the map and try your luck."
He pauses, dropping the curtain and turning around to face the younger
"However whatever you chose you'll need a guide"
He smirks, clasping his hands behind his back and clicking his feet together.
"You know that as soon as you step out of this building that you'll be a target and no matter how good you think you are there are endless monsters out there. But! If they see you with me it might deter them since it's not strange to see demons walking around with "pets""
He then cocks his head to the side.
"And I think I might have something for that light of yours up in the attic"

He knew.
One demon was a hard enough fight on his own turf. On their's they'd have even more of an advantage. If he valued his existence he better be careful out there, and not wander too much without knowing where he was off to.
"I'll try my luck Leaving." Malik decided. As curious as he was about this place, it seemed wiser to move on until he was better equipped for managing here. He was also thankful for the stranger's help but he didn't want to have to accept it constantly. He didn't feel like he had an upper hand right now, so if things went wrong, Malik considered himself screwed.
While He waited for the man to fetch whatever it was from the attic, Malik glanced outside, extending his awareness beyond the house without actually moving from his current place. Yeah the streets seemed empty, but there was also something out there... not in easy view, probably more dangerous than the average demons here. Malik sensed it as an aura of a presence but didn't actually catch a glimpse of what it might be.

The man simply smiled and shrugged his shoulders. Walking past the boy he heads up the staircase that leads to the upper floors. After 10 minutes or so he comes down, carrying with him a small red box. Walking up to the boy, the tall man will outstretch the box towards Malik, saying in his rugged voice
"I'm not sure if it will burn up upon contact with you since your physiolagy is different than mine, but it's supposed to cloak spiritual aura"
If Malik grabs the box and opens it he will see a silver ring inside, with a bright blue gem that seemed to contain some kind of liquid since there is some kind of movement inside it.
The man doesn't know if the ring will get destroyed or if it will help at all but it's a item that was given to him by a old lady from Sanctuary and a item he has worn to conceal his own beastly aura when walking among humans.

Malik examined the box carefully trying to figure out the nature of the thing inside without touching it. For some reason It wasn't possible for him to see what was inside directly. Yet it was easy to imagine even the box burning up at his touch... No...it wasn't entirely imagining, more like foreknowledge of the event. Malik visibly winced.
"You shouldn't offer me something you think you might lose." Malik pointed out, deciding that he could not fully trust the contents of the box to be harmless to him, regardless of where it had come from. It might have side effects or be binding in ways that couldn't be revoked.
He decided to forego the protection. "Lets just get out there." He'd definitely want to poke around Necropolis another day, but after he'd found his own solution to being a blazing flashlight. For now, the best way to avoid attention was probably to leave the plane sooner than later.

He smirked and coiled his fingers around the box, swiftly putting it in his left front pocket. Tightening up his tie he walks towards the round table and grabs the book that he put down on it. Lifting his gaze he lingers on some of the other books on the shelf, thinking of he should also grab another another certain one but decides against it since he might be away for longer than he might think and each of these books are very precious to him to just lug around unexplored lands.
"Here"
He muses out and tosses the book towards Malik, not really sparing him a glance if he'll actually catch it tho he hopes he might. It might be good for him to hold on to something that belongs in this place, make him look less out of this world, and the book itself is protected against all kind of damage so he can't really burn it.
The man walks out of the living room and in to the hallway where he stops in front of the coat rag. Grabbing on to his suit jacket he gracefully puts it on and straightens the collar before turning around to face one of the paintings. With one hand he grabs on to it and pulls it down revealing a rectangle hole in the wall in which rests a normal but very old looking brown suitcase. It's for emergencies for when he has to bolt out of the house real quick and just has to punch a hole through the painting, grab it and keep running. The painting itself means nothing to him even tho it holds the same woman and wolf focus. He grabs the suitcase with his other hand and puts the painting back in place. Giving himself a last glance at the full body mirror he smiles and grabs the door knob
"Adventure awaits"
He booms in a sort of theatric curtain call and opens the door.

Though he automatically tried to catch the book, Malik's current physiology made it difficult to grab. It fell though his fingers and on to the floor as if nothing were there to stop it. Malik valued books too much to not try and pick it up. He found he had to be extremely intentional, altering his energy to wax more towards this world's version of solid to even handle the book. That concentrated the light quite a bit. As a result it radiated less spread dimming the space. How the book or anything else for that matter, had yet to burn up beneath the more concentrated light he didn't know.
Being closer to solid had a grounding effect. Floating or phasing was no longer a fair enough substitute for walking.
Malik considered putting the book back on its shelf. That seemed to be where it ought to be given that it wasn't going to be read (most likely) but maybe the man had wanted it, so unless he was told to set it down, he'd bring it.
Stepping out of the building Malik quickly noticed the more sinister vibe in the air. Maybe it was that he was just noticing because the house had been protected, but it could be that some darker things had begun to flock near. There was nothing to see yet to indicate what it might be, if anything.
From here Malik did not know the way. He knew which way he had come but not if there was a polar north and south or even if any sense of standard directions could even work in this realm. He hoped that he could find the way once pointed in the right direction, but was definitely thankful that he had a guide.

The man would lock up as soon as Malik steps out of the building and plop the key in to his inner pocket. With a grin he readjusts his tie and looks left to right - to see if it's clear. Finding that there are no entities ready to jump them he starts walking away from the city center, down the street which leads at the outskirts. He walks with a straight posture and with graceful strides, ever so slightly twirling his golden eyes to the dark alleys and musty windows to see if anything was following them.
They most probably will.
"Now, I'm assuming you don't want to go back to Sanctuary?"
He will look down at the boy as he keeps walking. The man assumed not since the younger didn't specifically say that he wanted to go there but he could be wrong. He just said that he wanted to get out of Necropolis and the man knew of two exits - one that he has taken a couple of times to Sanctuary and one that he was told not to go though unless Necropolis is crumbling. Curiosity is a dangerous thing to had and the man hoped that Malik's answer would be a negative.
Although he could take another trip to Sanctuary since he is kinda holding a shop there and it would be nice to pay it a visit.

Malik was kind of surprised that such clarification hadn't come up earlier if it were needed at all. "I just gotta find a place from where I can find my way from." He pointed out. "Sanctuary's the obvious one." He added without enthusiasm. It wasn't like he wanted to be in sanctuary. After the 'burn' of that place with their tech that was anti-spiritual. The only plus was that he would know where he was if he went there, unlike now.
That said... "if there's a faster to get out, where I can also find my way from I'm game." Malik admitted. The feeling of being watched was growing stronger as it was. How long till something either out of stupidity or actual strength decided to act.
