NAME: Hekate of Olympus, AKA Cleo Wright
GENDER: Female
NAME: Hekate of Olympus, AKA Selene Wright
GENDER: Female
AGE: Ageless
AFFILIATION: Eden
RACE / SPECIES: Deity
ABILITIES:
Traditional Divine Abilities
- [*]An ease of shapeshifting into nearly any form she wants; She has the ability to grow up to 15 feet (at least as far as others know), though she can also grow larger than that
[*]Hekate is unbound by space and time, and thus has the power of teleportation of herself and apportation of other people and objects to wherever needed. She can also move between realms at will, allowing her to live out life in her mortal alias, to fulfill her duties in hell, and then to return to Earth to strike down any of those who threaten those under her protection
[*]On top of her ability to teleport, she has the power to move at rapid speeds that equal and even surpass the speed of light, though her teleportation is faster
[*]Her strength and durability allow her to combat Gods in hand-to-hand combat, resisting all mortal weapons, and allowing her to withstand much more than a car barreling towards her at 90 MPH
[*]With all senses surpassing that of every animal to ever live, but not having the same downsides as, say, someone who could be bombarded with sonic weapons or bright flashes, Hekate’s brutal assault of the Titans and Gigantes went down as legend when, not only did she use her sorcery, but her physical prowess in battle, wielding ‘nothing’ but torches tipped with immortal flame able to mark the skin of a giant
Greek Abilities
[*]Able to maintain immortality through use of nectar and ambrosia on a constant basis to refresh the Ichor in her veins, and durability to the point that disease is ineffective, and she can only be able to be wounded under what can be called uncommon circumstances; will wither without ambrosia
[*]Omnilingualism that allows Hekate to understand, speak, and read any and all mortal tongues, but she is not limited to just human languages, because Hekate can communicate with any manner of being, living and dead
[*]The ability to control and communicate with the elements, animals and insects, and nature itself just like every other God by weaving things like fire, earth, water and air, and using zoopathy - or the ability to communicate with and control animal life - and atmokinesis - or the ability to manipulate the weather - to control the world around her
[*]The power of invisibility by surrounding herself in a cloud of mists that makes her invisible
[*]The power to birth and/or create fantastical entities and forge objects that possess supernatural abilities
[*]Maintains the ability to bless people and groups with victory, wealth, and more, or to withhold these things, and is one of the only Titans to have maintained this ability
[*]Great control over mortals and the world around her through means of changing a mortal’s form, and the ability to bless and curse others on a personal level
[*]Biokinesis and transmutation (shown through several of these abilities)
[*]Divine sorcery through spellcasting, potion brewing, and other methods
Personal Powers
- [*]As the Goddess of crossroads, trivial knowledge, underworlds, ghosts, necromancy, magic, witchcraft, the moon, and the night, and protector of doorways, Hekate’s abilities cover a wide swath of things, especially when you take her heritage into account
[*]Doesn’t require faith for power, but possesses it nonetheless, with it enhancing her even further as one of the major modern Pagan deities
[*]Possesses great power over all things in her spheres of control, though she has a lot of crossover with other deities, and thus isn’t as strong in those areas as she would be without them existing. In fact, the existence of other deities has actually ripped spheres of control out of Hekate’s grasp, so she’s used to being second in those areas. Another example of this is her relationship with Hermes, where they share a kind of symbiosis with one another
Heritage of Perses and Asteria, and Goddess of the Night and the Moon
- [*]Being the daughter of Perses and Asteria has given her privilege and power over Earth, the heavens, and the seas. Her privilege wasn’t removed during the Olympians’ war with the Titans, so she has maintained powers over the elements that are enhanced compared to other deities, and has the power to harness starlight, as well as the might of the seas (such as coral, salt, and water). She can generate these, too
[*]Hekate is capable of corporeal transmutation, meaning that she can take on the physical properties of other things, all bolstered by her natural physical traits, but only through touch. The only thing she can mimic without touching it is starlight/solar energy, during which her powers over the moon and the solar energy are enhanced.
[*]Can manipulate and generate ‘lunar energy’ (essentially sunlight filtered through the moon), alongside starlight/solar energy
[*]Hekate’s starlight shields are incredibly durable, and nearly impenetrable. It’s her first defense against Zeus’ lightning bolts.
[*]Hekate grows in power when it is night, can sense what state the moon as at. Confronting Hekate alone is generally a bad idea in the first place, even for the strongest of deities, but at night it isn’t just a horrible idea, it’s pure lunacy.
[*]Hekate possesses the power of prophecy, and is capable of giving this power to others
[*]She knows exactly where she is at all times, thanks to the stars (whether visible or not) (this can be bypassed by certain things, obviously)
[*]Can conjure/apport objects and people to her because of the additional power boost to her traits
Goddess of Witchcraft and Magic
- [*]Hekate’s power to use divine sorcery far outdoes that of any of the other Greek deities, for she is a true master of the mystical arts. From mystical markings, to the use of reagents in spells, to knowledge of a many great rituals, combating Hekate with magic alone would likely be the equivalent of suicide. Thus, she naturally possesses telekinesis alongside her other abilities, can glean into the mind, cast illusions, conjure/apport objects and people towards her, and more
[*]Hekate possesses a natural resistance to magic, but can still definitely be harmed by it. Locating spells rarely function correctly on Hekate or those protected by her, and lower level spells are still useless, but pissing off a coven or even two could still be a bad idea for Hekate (P.S. total immunity to magic is no fun at all, for anyone involved, especially others for whom it may be their only defense)
[*]Hekate has a massive repertoire of spells and mystical knowledge within her mind
[*]Hekate can identify witches, magic users, and some magical creatures on sight
[*]Can sense magic, enchantments, mystical curses and blessings, and more
[*]She is capable of acting as a soul source for others, and her blessings can result in a myriad of effects
[*]Can identify not only mystical herbs, but most plants
Goddess of the Crossroads and Trivial Knowledge, Protector of Doorways
- [*]Hekate possesses the power of prophecy, and is capable of giving this power to others
[*]Can help people choose the right or wrong path (sometimes the ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ path, if it’s a difficult one)
[*]Knows where doorways, roads, and paths go to, as well as things like trains
[*]Knows if she is being misled about where someone is leading her or taking her (as well as if others are being misled)
[*]Can protect doorways and entrances by preventing entrance or exiting; may also uses this ability to, say, cause someone to walk in through the front door of a house if they try to leave through the back
[*]Can use her control over trivial knowledge to acquire information about certain things, though they aren’t always the most useful things
[*]Hekate is capable of spawning up to two separate forms as the three-faced Goddess of the Crossroads. Her power isn’t splintered when she has all three bodies active, but her primary body is the strongest, with the other two ‘only’ being about on par with the Big Three. If killed, it takes 24 hours for her other bodies to reform, but this doesn’t extend to Hekate’s primary form. If her primary form is killed, however, the other two may continue to exist
Goddess of Underworlds, Necromancy and Ghosts
- [*]Hekate has great power over the dead and undead through her use of necromancy, allowing her to use necromantic abilities that range from raising the dead, to fulfilling her duties in the Underworld as companion to Demeter and Persephone, and ally of Hades. Her power over ghosts also allows her to communicate with them, guide them, or even capture them for some further use to her if need be
[*]Can identify different types of the undead on sight
[*]Can glean information about ghosts just from their presence (this makes it easier to help them pass on if she has chosen to communicate with a ghost stuck on Earth, or if a mortal she had taken a shining to is unable to pass on after dying)
The Stave of the Twin Lights
- [*]Merged into the shape of a powerful mystical stave, Hekate’s twin torches have been transformed and enchanted to become the Stave of the Twin Lights. It was made in the middle of the 16th century because her torches were screwed up in a scuffle with another deity
[*]Able to be summoned as a stave, as one or two torches, the power of the Stave of the Twin Lights can be wielded at full strength when unsummoned and in in stave form, but its traits return to their original state when in the form of the torches
[*]When unsummoned, Hekate can use the stave’s power to cover herself in spikes and blades that are made out of a combination of wood and metal
[*]Using these, Hekate can wield incredibly powerful flames that, on top of being fire, pulse with solar energy, and are easily capable of doing harm to even the durable hide of the most sturdy Gigantes, and wrap herself in flames that have the potential to raze entire cities, or be used in conjunction with a spell to make the metal hull of a warship burn
[*]Can generate a miniature moon or star for Hekate to draw power from, but this can only be done when it is summoned in stave form
[*]The stave is capable doing harm to higher beings, and possibly even killing them, but the killing can only be done when it is summoned in stave form

HISTORY:
Since the ancient days of mankind, Hekate has ruled in the heavens, on this Earth she holds so sacred, and in the sea, her many and varied blessings bestowed on those who appeased her as she protected entire cities, granted victory, and gave wealth. The daughter of the mighty Titans Perses and Asteria, she is a Titaness of such great power that even Zeus regarded her with fear, for she is the mighty Goddess of Witchcraft, and the spheres of control in her divine title are many. Beautiful, dangerous, and even mysterious, she can be found with dealings in nearly all aspects of the Greek pantheon, from having torn away from the Titans during their war with the Olympians, to being honored by Zeus and maintaining her privileges in the heavens, on Earth, and in the seas, and now, in modern days, allying herself with Hades, and continuing to be a close companion of Demeter and Persephone, and an ever important part of the Eleusinian Mysteries.
Starlight and destruction met with an epic boom, producing Hekate in an awe-inspiring display of solar energy that radiated outwards, and would echo the awe-inspiring Goddess that Hekate came to be as she fought alongside the Olympians. Done no wrong during the War of the Titans, she aligned herself with the Olympians, and was one of the only predecessors of the Olympians to maintain the powers and privilege that so many lost. Feared and respected for her actions, she was literally honored by Zeus and all other immortal deities for her actions with them, only to reaffirm her alliance with the Olympians to further show her loyalty.
Her torches lit up the night alongside the moon as she rode upon a chariot into battle when the Gigantes launched a war against her Olympian kin, and she fought brutally against the giant Clytius. Forever marking the giant with a scar using her twin torches, Hekate continued to redeem her name as a Titan, gaining favor among the Olympians, further inspiring the fear that Zeus has of her. In these ancient days, things were much different than they are now, however, and she was not a part of the Eleusinian Mysteries, nor a companion and great friend of Demeter and Persephone, nor an ally of Hades.
The torches that lit up the night during the War of the Gigantes were the same torches that would light the path in an attempt to find Persephone, for she was the only one to hear the young Goddess. It was then that Zeus would find himself on her bad side, her respect for the King of the Heavens gone, her perspective forever of him forever changed, and, as time went on, it would look more and more like it had been a bad idea for Zeus’ safety to allow her to retain her full privilege and powers as a Titaness. Later on, she would come to be by the side of Hermes as an important part of the other deity’s life, both intertwined intimately in their divine titles, and thus both being consorts of each other. Then, she was linked to Heracles by taking in the once-human, now-polecat Galinthias, who played quite the role in the birth of one of the greatest heroes to ever live.
One of the last and best known myths of Hekate before she drifted into a slumber was that of Hekate and Queen Hecuba, who she took as one of her animal familiar’s when the Queen’s form became that of a large black dog. Then, the slumber came. So weakened was Hekate by the closing off of Olympus that Hekate slipped into a slumber for centuries after weakening over the period of about two centuries, finding herself constantly harassed by enemies that found themselves able to challenge her. It is only now that she awakens, and finds her once-enormous power returned, and strong enough to level most of her foes.
And now… she’s back back. She’s been back for a few decades, now, organizing, restructuring, doing things you’d expect her to do to learn and recover from her sleep.
