Amitiel Amitiel was on the prowl.
A demonic signature had gotten their attention, as it usually had. At first, it seemed to be something that was worth ignoring. Then, it began to grow in power, and suddenly the angel found themselves sprung into action.
The form they had taken beforehand was that of a young boy - one possibly afflicted by illness, but otherwise had a form that the angel felt was beautiful. White hair, blood red eyes, and skin as pale as snow; one of the many variations of the intriguing human body, in their opinion.
The result of this was that Amitiel seemed diminutive, their body only standing at roughly around 157cm. His power, while definitely not what it used to be over the eons, was anything but small.
It was for that very reason that the angel raced through the skies, tailing a speeding cloud of dark smoke that bobbed and weaved its way through the terrain of this unfamiliar part of the world.
It seemed that the demonic being was none-the-wiser.

Hadraniel had been annoyed. When the angel was annoyed, they tended to try to stop the annoyance. By destroying it. This was usually an easy task, but seeing as it was a demon who apparently had enough brains to flee, it was going to be slightly harder. If it had just been anything that had been annoying them, then Hadraniel would have let it go. In this case, though, it was a demon. Ergo, Hadraniel was not going to let it fo. They propelled themself through they sky with great purple wings, pale eyes blazing. The demon fled through the clouds, twisting and turning, probably trying to outmaneuver them, which wasn't going to work. Hadraniel could have literal tunnel vision at times, especially when pursuing demons, which was the easiest, and most likely, explanation why they didn't see the other angel tracking the very same demon.

Amitiel The demon continued its beeline through the skies before dropping into the cover of the clouds.
Amitiel followed, and soon found them hovering over a plain of some kind. "Where are you going...?" He muttered to himself.
Then, the demon increased its speed. Had the angel been found out? No. This demon should've been strong enough to fight; perhaps it was leading him into a trap.
That was what the angel first thought before sensing celestial energy. Another source of it. Eyes widening, the angel turned on his back while still flying to survey the area.
He caught a glimpse of a figure rocketing through the air as well. Another angel? An Empyrean?
Turning back, he noticed that the demon landed on the ground, and Amitiel was quick to try and attack. He lifted his hand, sending an orb of light energy down at the being as it stood.

Hadraniel subconsciously sensed the presence of another angel as well, although they mostly ignored it, until an sphere of light shot down from the cloud towards the demon. They paused, confused. It was celestial magic, that was for sure, but she didn't remember any other angel being stationed nearby. A fallen? A Grigori? Seraphim? All were unlikely. Whatever the case, the other angel and them had the same goal in mind–destroying the demon. Most likely not a threat. Returning their attention back to the demon, Hadraniel sent a blast of white-hot flames towards the demon. In retrospect, perhaps that was a tad overkill.

Non Player Character Smoke Demon In the wake of the attacks, the smoke whipped itself around the first of them - Amitiel's orb. While that attack missed, Hadraniel's flames made contact with the smoky mass causing it to screech in pain. The form the creature took was a frightening one. From the front of the smoke came a nightmarish face, filled to the brim with teeth and eyes as black as midnight. Its voice came out in a hiss. "Celestialsss..." For any other beings not acquainted with these kinds of beasts, both the harsh sound and its ghastly appearance would have been intimidating. For angels, however, it was simply a part of existence. Roaring, it made very fast beeline toward Hadraniel, attempting to chomp down on the angel with its maw. From the side of its mass, however, another head grew, it making to rush at Amitiel.

Hadraniel raised their eyebrows, looking vaguely impressed. This was a higher demon, no doubt. More powerful than they'd anticipated, but clearly fueled with a hatred for angels nevertheless. Then again, they'd just tried to kill it. They pulled their wings close to their body, Hadraniel spun to the right in an impressive maneuver. When they were safely out of the range of the jaws, they would send another wave of flames towards the demon. There was clearly another angel nearby, although why was a mystery that would have to be investigated later.

Non Player Character Smoke Demon The second wave of flames were deftly maneuvered around, the demon roaring as it attempted once more to ensnare Hadraniel in its jaws. It would find itself blown away by a ray of light from the other angel on the field. When it turned back to Amitiel, who had taken to getting the other head off of Hadraniel rather than protect himself, it took advantage of the moment of distraction. It's other head grabbed the leg of the angel, swinging it in the air before hefting Amitiel out of view. This gave the Smoke Demon a bit of time to turn back to Hadraniel. However, this momentary change in attention would cost it, as the angel no doubt had time to attack once more.

Amitiel The demon latching onto his leg was a good enough distraction for Hadraniel, but it didn't feel great for Amitiel.
The latter had been thrown the sky, and struggled to reorient themselves. This demon was powerful - not overly so, but definitely stronger than the garden-variety. That meant that Amitiel would need to up his game against it.
Smokey's second head came at him once more, prompting an immediate response. He rocketed toward the head, transforming into what could only be described as a 'bullet' of light that made to pierce through the neck of Smokey's head.
When they came from the bullet, they would be in full view of Hadraniel, but paid the other angel no heed as he surveyed his damage done. Empyrean angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

Hadraniel dove directly at the demon. This was probably not the wisest move. Growling, the angel would attempt to wrap their arms around one of the demon's necks, hopefully forcing it to stay solid. They only gave the other angel a brisk glance of acknowledgement before returning their attention to the problem at hand. After it was resolved, then the two could ask each other all the questions they wanted.

Non Player Character Smoke Demon Hadraniel's attempt at keeping the demon at bay worked perfectly. The creature was forced into corporeality, roaring as it attempted to move and attack the angel. This gave Amitiel the time he needed to attack it. A spear of light came forth, piercing through the demon and causing significant damage to its body. In addition to this, the second head was destroyed, as its loss of stability prevented it from being able to continue. Now, Hadraniel was free to deliver the final blow on the being. Amitiel The demon's imminent demise gave Amitiel the breathing room he needed. Backing away from the soon-to-be-destroyed beast, he caught a breath and allowed his light to replenish itself once more. Too close had he been to the dark powers of Smokey - the prospect of corruption by that hideous creature briefly rattled him in hindsight.
Still, he wasn't alone in this fight, and that was what he focused on now. The other angel, whom he could tell was definitely not an Empyrean, was quite an interesting looking one. The celestial power he possessed was sizable, comparable - even exceeding - Amitiel's current amounts. Even while not an Empyrean, Amitiel could recognize how ordered and beautiful his radiance was. Truly, he was a being of the Heavens.
He was so busy with his assessments that he didn't realize how he was staring at the other angel. Embarrassing, it would be to anyone else, but Amitiel's social skills weren't exactly great.

Hadraniel barely noticed the staring, but they did notice the spear of light, remarkably weakening the demon. Baring their teeth in determination, Hadraniel's hands glowed a blinding white. When the light cleared, then the demon hopefully would gone, and Hadraniel would pause and catch their breath.

Amitiel With the demon destroyed, Amitiel's attention was now firmly on his fellow Celestial.
Floating upward, he stopped a good distance away from Hadraniel. His voice would carry through the sky, attempting to speak to him.
"Who are you?" He asked. "Are you from the Outer Heavens?"
For most Celestials, the term 'Outer Heavens' was a term that meant anything distinct from your own place. The cosmos was such a vast place. Hopefully, Hadraniel would understand the terminology, as most other angels that Amitiel met whom were distinctly non-Empyrean had. Empyrean angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless
