❖ SHIKA TAISHO
Long story short the tribe of ancient stones had gotten pretty boring lately. All the fun people to tease had not been showing face and shika was having no crises to fill her time and had no reason to pursue some goal when she didn't know what she wanted decided she might as well do something for sport. Since getting people to do stuff with her already seemed to be a problem and a source of much frustration, shika just decided to go out without telling anyone.
She ended up rather far from the tribe. It looked more like what she thought of as closer to home, dense jungle which forced her to alter her size greatly lest she gracelessly tromp about. That was fine of course. Being essentially an apex predator meant there was very little she ought to worry about. She could just sort of relax, and wander, and talk to Rao, shika's pet ferret who was riding on shika's head.
"Ne, we should raid someone or start a war or something. The tribe's been so uneventful lately I'm bored out of my mind. But I don't see the point. I have everything I want or need. Yeah you're right except for a few things that I can't even get by force. Maybe I should abduct someone into the tribe, make them serve me and then somehow get them to not hate me for it. That would be interesting. But yeah it wouldn't be as legit and they might try to kill me later."
Rao of course wasn't answering. The ferret was pretty much a dumb pet, able to listen. Who knew how much Rao could understand, but the ferret definitely couldn't respond.
"We need real enemies. But everyone important strong enough to take any out easy. Except for you. You'd be dead in a snap. Then I'd have to rip you out of the attacker's teeth and it'd be too late."
Shika didn't mind the gruesome turn to her thoughts. It was more interesting than moons of laziness.
Then something in the environment did come to her attention. Clean black asphalt cut through the jungle terrain like a large river. It was used often too. It was neither littered with jungle debris nor overgrown. Shika frowned. "Wanna see about blending into the human world and getting into petty trouble with the rebel kids?" She asked Rao, shifting into a more human form as she did so. It was almost right, except for the odd amber eye color, the elfish ears and the subtle claws on her fingers rather than plain old nails. Shika sat on a fallen log and looked up at Rao. "Yeah, I thought not."
