Choushin didn't respond to her as he saw that they were at, what he assumed was her house. He began to help her pin the wet clothing on the line to help get it done quicker.

The job would be done in no time, as two worked a lot faster than one. When the task was complete, Kai picked up the empty clothes basket and held it under her arm. "Thanks for your help. It made the time fky."

Choushin nodded his head. "You're welcome." He said before he started to feel hungry. "Do you know where I can get food around here?" He asked.

"I can wip something together." kai offered. "Theres some early ripe apples in the orchard." Kai pointed out the relevant cluster of trees, "and my neighbor brought me a nice smoked fish." With the the things kai already had, a simple meal could be constructed

"Well, are you sure you want to cook for a Kitsune? I mean, wouldn't that affect things here badly?" Choushin asked, not sure if this was another world or one big illusion.

"Its not cooking so much as throwing together what's already here." Kai insisted. "Its not like those stories where its bad luck. Besides, you've helped me out so much that its only right." Kai explained, coming behind Choushin to guide him towards the house. Guests shouldn't be allowed to to hungry

Choushin only nodded his head to her, not one to tell her not to be kind to him. He followed her to her house, wondering what all was here to begin with.

The house was a quaint place, the furnishings seemed largely hand made, wooden tables and chairs, woven baskets, and so on. There was only one room but the space was clearly partitioned into sections based on purpose, sleeping, dining/living and cooking. Kai pulled the curtains open on a window cut into a wall, letting in the daylight before picking out smoked fish and bread, and cheese from where she'd had it stored. With a knife, she cut each into reasonable portions and set them on the table for Choushin.

Choushin had seen what her place looked like, and felt a bit bad. He wished that he could help her live in a nicer place, but it would have to be about 500 years in order for him to have the power to do so, or by having a stroke of luck with power. When she set the food for him, he nodded his head. "Thank you. I'll remember your kindness if I ever come back." He said, checking his pocket for his star ball.

It might be quaint, but Kai was content with her lot. There was something special about this rustic life that she wouldn't want to trade if given the choice. "Oh no. You've already done plenty." Kai insisted. "Relax and eat, and then I guess you'll head back." Kai wasn't the sort who could keep a stray man entranced for days or even years, nor did she want to in this case, even though having company was so nice.

"Okay, but if I ever do find a way to come back here, I can come back on my own free will and see you again and try to have some fun games while I'm here." Choushin said, for some reason finding her overall interesting.

Kai smiled. "There's certainly fun to be had." In work or in play there was certainly much to keep the time interesting. "Hold tight, and help yourself to anything more while I fetch some apples." She offered, slipping out before there was a chance to object.
There it was, that blurring of which she had spoken, by the door, and by the edges of the floor, and the window as well. It was likely harder to see before, when she had been in the room simply because Kai's presence could keep the fickle thing called attention busy on other details.

Choushin nodded his head. "Will do." He said before he saw the blurring. If what Kai told him was true, he would either end up back in the pond if he left or in a stranger's home. Not that it would be hard to leave. As he got up, he checked his pockets again and only noticed now that his star ball had fallen out. He knew it hadn't fallen out on the way here because he checked, so he began to scan around the house for it, not wanting to leave without it.

Both guesses were incorrect regarding where Choushin might end up.
The time spent searching would lead nothing, as if the ball had completely vanished. It could be because of the nature of this place. It could have rolled through the blurring without him. Kai certainly hadn't stolen it.
"Looking for this?" There at the entryway stood Tsuki, finally showing himself on the scene. He held up the missing ball calmly, clearly knowing that Choushin valued the thing.

Choushin turned to look at Tsuki and saw him holding the ball. He simply scowled at him. "So, you decided to do dirty tricks in order to get your hands on that? I thought you said the goal of the game was to not have the other one unable to play, but it seems like you've disregarded that already." He said, waiting for the perfect strike to move and get it back, even by force if he had to.
