❖ VESSTALI TAMAI
It was odd being a goddess, there was so much information to process and things to manage that even with all the time in the universe to work with, it took a while for Vesstali to balance it all. Time was not linear in this heaven, so she really could take all the time she needed without effecting when she interacted with the timeline of earth.
She'd had power of a local god before, able to manage the thriving of a small forest glade with ease while essentially being no more than an exalted ghost. It was different now. There was cosmic information available to her with a single thought. She merely had to wish for anything and it could be done. She didn't hunger or thirst or need sleep anymore.
Then there were the cries if the people below. She and Amitiel had essentially made themselves deities over Eokia, claiming what had formerly been raw power and knowledge left behind by some missing god, so she could hear them, mortal soul cries of pain, loss, betrayal, of joy love and more. She couldn't cure these. She never could since effecting free will was taboo, and since not all granting of wishes was actually wise.
She could see the pockets of Necropolis's influence on the world. She was a being of light but thanks to having lived thrice, once as mortal, once as undead, once as spirit she truly knew some of that darkness in an intimate way.
That could be erased, not all at once for the darkness too worked on cosmic power, but in time.
Though time was unlimited, Vesstali took time to set a general sense of its passage, marking off days and hours both in mortal time, and cosmic time, the spirits who came here would eventually adjust, but many were used to mortal time like she had been. She made sure one tier of this realm maintained that illusion, a place of entrance for the spirits and mortals, who would undoubtedly visit this place. That tier of the realm was most like the world below, but far more beautiful it was a hyper reality. She called this the garden, in honor of her old home.
The next tier was a tier for watching. This was outside of time on earth but kept its own internal time. Here she and others could look over the universe and see present past and future how. much could be seen depended on the viewer's cosmic perceptions. Most would only see the present as it related to themselves. Naturally Vesstali could see much more than that. She called this place, the balcony since it vaguely resembled one.
The third tier was a more physical seeming place than the balcony, but more timeless, as it was made for beings who had better adjusted to the fluid time of the heavens. It spanned the lower tiers giving beings here access to any point in the events that happened below. This was a place for celestial allies, angels and gods, and any beings Vesstali and Amitiel chose to create. She left it to Amitiel to shape in preparation for the upcoming conflicts they would likely have with Necropolis. It was a seat for preparing offense and defense.
The forth was a tier for cosmic knowledge. It wasn't really a place in the physical perceptions, but a state of mind. Anyone here could reach it, but the knowledge available depended largely on a being's ability and cosmic perspective. There were many things mortal souls lacked the ability to know. Guests who might not be allies had largely the same limitations as mortals here. Angels of this realm could know more. The owners could know even more. One had to be specific in their queries to find the answers. It was too easy to be lost browsing but subconscious desires and an occasional nudge in the right direction could still guarantee that the desired answers were found. But there were some things the availability of knowledge could never teach, such as actual skill at a craft or how to use the knowledge learned. She called this place, the library.
There was one last Tier, one that no one but herself and Amitiel and those they invited there could reach. It was where all the remaining unshaped potential of this spiritual universe remained. It was outside the others, It could be shaped to add more tiers as needed. It had access to everything the others promised and so much more.
After establishing these partitions, Vessa took the much needed time to rest, letting the realm spin and grow until she decided it was time to begin the next step.
She sent an avatar down, testing out the theory that due to this timelessness and her cosmic power she could be in multiple places at once. She was sticking with two for now, herself in the realm above, and herself in Eokia below.
She found herself back at her old home. It was growing back well, even if it was more wild now without her role as a gardener. She headed towards the center where her dwelling used to be. The basin she used to use for seeing the future sometimes was still in tact. She put it up on a stone, and filled it with water. Her feathers brushed across the surface. It turned black as night, then reflective as a newly polished mirror.
She etched words into the stone in old draconic glyphs
If you seek she who dwelt here, look in the mirror and call my name.
The future scrying bowl was now ready for another purpose, a place marker should her friends from the tribe ever seek her out on their own. She did intend to seek out some on her own, but she'd probably do so by dream.
Her work in her former home was done, but she was reminded of another task, before she began to welcome souls to her heaven. She vanished from this place, appearing instantly in a different higher realm that watched over Eokia, the realm of the dragon council, where souls of dragons who died tended to go, where the strongest were appointed to the status of gods. She had gone there twice before she had ended up taking a route which transcended the bonds of this place.
"You were not summoned here." A booming voice greeted, clearly displeased by Vesstali's invasion even though she had not entered beyond where any deceased dragon might begin. There was no doubt they would be displeased. Through Amitiel's gift of godhood she had practically usurped their authority over her. It was they who had given her charge of that small glade, who had let her live as if alive while dwelling in that place.
"I have recently come over larger portion of the inheritance over the land, as I'm sure you are well aware." She declared, no longer reduced to a weakling spirit, at the whim of the council's commands. She preferred to keep her appearance as small as her mortal form had been, but she had no reason to grovel. "I am sure you are well aware of the fate of the Leader of the tribe of Crystal waters, how his spirit shattered and the darkness took him. The darkness is spreading, and has even reached this place in times past." The council was a neutral entity rather than a good or evil one so they were more susceptible to such things. "I request your cooperation in combating this, and offer the resources within my disposal to your aid." She was offered, having the sense that despite her refusal to look the part that she was the higher power in this exchange. The Council's cosmic realm was still time bound and had less potential over all than the place she had come to inherit. That in its own should provide some insensitive for them to work with her.
"Be gone little godling, lets see how long you fare." A different voice challenged, but it was clear that this one had just as much authority here as the other. If there was any disagreement on the matter, they would never let it show.
Vessa guessed it couldn't be helped. "Very well. Do not interfere with my activities." She warned. "You know where to find me if you reconsider." She left no roadmap nor address, but if someone really wanted to get there, reaching her realm should be a simple matter as long as there was no ill will involved.
There were other deities to meet with. Just like the dragons, Certain peoples and lands also had their related gods except for those who had for some reason forgotten, or who followed a deity who didn't actually exist as was sometimes the case. But Vessa wished to save these relations for another day in the mortal sense of time.
For now, back to Eokia, earth, to rest in pretending to be mortal, and to try and seek out souls who could use a proper spiritual home.
She looked like a regular though very beautiful moral woman, with fair skin, and red gold hair. She wore a simple dress that reached the ground, though the hem would never get dirty no matter how much it dragged. Spirits would see her for what she really was, at least sensing her bond with a paradise beyond, as would those mortal individuals with the sight or the ability to sense auras. Few others would know who she was so quickly but that was a good thing, as even here great power was sometimes feared.
She wanted to as Amitiel had proposed, seek allies among the living. As well as the dead. Necropolis was a large threat. It would take time and effort to build a force that could keep that evil in check.
