RULES AND TIPS FOR INTERACTING WITH TSUKI
- 1) What is real and what isn't will rarely be identified in post. Tsuki's trick is to keep the lines between the two quite blurry as they seem to effect reality around characters more often than the characters themselves.
- 2) Sometimes his tricks will be too absurd to be anything else, sometimes, they will seem so real that taking the observations at less than face value wouldn't even cross the mind
- 3) The exception to this is tricks that risk causing the target real physical harm, such as convincing the target to walk off a cliff cause they can't see the cliff. These will always be more clearly marked.
- 4) Tsuki targets the five senses first, and does not mess with internal desires or thoughts unless he really knows his target enough to ensure they are characteristic, or if an action in his illusion would logically sate or trigger such a desire.
- 5) Tsuki can cast illusions in a fixed area effect range, of about a mile diameter from his location. His illusions can be seen from a distance from things outside of this range, but are most strongly perceived when within this range.
- 6) Tsuki can cast illusions directly into an individual's mind, creating perceptions that only effect one person.
- 7) Tsuki can cast illusions on himself, and often uses this to accompany individuals through his fabricated adventures.
- 8) Tsuki may often be somewhere other than where he is actually perceived
- 9) In order to get hints about what is real or not, a person must be actively interacting with the illusion. Sometimes Tsuki can forget to include a sense fully, and a double sensation will occur. This is most common with taste and touch.
- 10) Tsuki can lessen, but he can't completely mask real pain.
- 11) Tsuki maintains the ability to see reality even when he's casting illusions on himself.
- 12) Tsuki is vulnerable when actively keeping up an illusion, but only if the real Tsuki can be found. Being able to sense minds and thoughts or having another form of 6th sense ability is helpful with this. as it can reveal a lack of details where there should be some, or a presence of information where there should be none.
- 13) Once accurately identified as fake, Tsuki's Illusions can be resisted through mental blocking techniques, or by interacting with reality rather than what happens to be perceived. This can be difficult as long as the illusions are at least partly believed and treated as real.
- 14) It is possible to misidentify, and treat reality as an illusion. This can hurt

Most of my characters are assumed to be Asexual, Aromantic or Asexual Demiromantic unless proven otherwise through roleplay. This means they either experience no sexual nor emotional attraction, or are attracted to a person romantically only through personality. I generally dislike rping romantic stuff, so this works out rather well. There are a few exceptions which I've discovered through plots here and there.
- Tsuki Doesn't experience sexual attraction unless he falls in love with personality first, and the species is right, he may act romantic towards males or females.
- Peter Only experiences sexual attraction to females of his same species. May experience attraction to personality to females of other species. Tends to not realize this until the character he liked was gone or missing. I mention species because peter was in a mixed species group.
- Shadow Heterosexual Heteromantic has a mate
- Malik Experiences sexual attraction to biological human/humanoid females, but chooses to be celibate. Rarely experiences romantic attraction
- Shagul Attracted to intelligence and personality, but only rarely, and always in females. Very Yandere about it when he does grow to like someone.
I can't rp attraction at all unless my characters really mean it. Funny the whole list is all males. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That's probably cause my females didn't get as many chances to really like someone in that way.

A long time ago, when he was just a boy, Malik heard a speech on tv.
We are entering a new era. The human has reached a unity never before seen in human history. Our technology has come a long way with fighting famine, and disaster. Soon these too will be a thing of the past, ushering in an age of progress and prosperity for all. This is our Sanctuary, and it will be for generations to come
What a load of bull.
He'd seen the crime that happened in the backstreets. He'd seen the riots that happened on the news. Humans did themselves a lot of harm, both individually and to the larger society.
The government had the power to make changes and the technology to back them at gunpoint if need be. Why didn't it seem like they were doing anything.
Instead, they were using the people's tax dollars to make like difficult if not outright miserable for demihumans like himself. Malik couldn't count all the close calls he'd had to being discovered. It was amazing that no government agent had come to catch him yet.
Hiding was a bear.
It would be wonderful to have a space to practice and use his powers so that he could control them better, so that the celestial energy could be consistently kept in check. At its strongest, especially if something got his emotions up, it was a challenge to not have them manifest visibly.
It was like a curse where he couldn't be sure of his own strength at times. He knew he was stronger than normal people, but by how much changed so that it was hard to know how much effort he needed for a task.
At worst it was overwhelming, so that the only thing he could do was wait and let the energy take over until it wore out or her could rein it back. Fortunately that had only happened twice, once when he'd first discovered he wasn't normal, later when he'd been suppressing his power too long to be safe.
He'd come up with tricks to siphon off some of the energy to prevent such phases, but it wasn't much more than a stop-gap.
How did others do it? How were some of the most powerful beings who he'd met able to keep a convincingly human guise?
It was probably an experience thing.
Malik wanted a place he could safely experiment, and learn without being afraid of being caught by authorities. He hoped that maybe if he learned his powers better, he could find a better way to hide them. They called this place sanctuary but it was never really a sanctuary, and could not be as long as he and others had to live under such great caution and fear.
Where was his sanctuary?
Damn, he wanted one.

On some sites, especially in the warriors fandom/FF spin off site's I've seen, it seems like at least half the active members want to either make their own group or remake a group they used to rp at.
I wish you FF Spin offs, especially the ones about animals like the FF would find eachother and collaborate, since in some cases you'll get multiple remakes of the same clan.
Can we stop that. I know you miss your favorite places. So do I, i miss them a ton. RIP Black spiral dancers That or you're got some really great ideas but...
Too many groups can spread activity rather thin, especially when the member base is small.
Maybe its time to let some groups die for a while.
On the same note, I'm debating ending Tocw on here. I have muse and ideas but between Tocw and Toas, we are not seeing much rp in either. We aren't rping much there, so I rather see the board repurposed into a larger cannon location which more people could use for plots.
Of course the tribe characters could stay and rp as a tribe in the main eokia board instead if we must.

THE CREATION OF EOKIA
Once, the world was more connected than it was today. The dark ages, as the humans call them, were remarkably lush with magic, and our relations with mortals was reasonably kept. Most of us lived peacefully, though the stories of vengeful dragons, and evil wizards have more than a grain of truth.
Then came the scientific revolution. Within a few generations humans learned to harness electricity, create artificial minds they call computers, and build mind baffling weapons.
They began spreading the idea that they were above other races, and that the rest of us did not belong in their age of science.
They built machines specifically to find and hunt us, distorting old knowledge into their machines so that dragon, beast, mer, fey, celestial, mage, and even gifted mortals of men no longer had a place. The science driven community took the worst of our kinds, and demonized us to the point where no about of evidence to the contrary convinced them of our willingness to coexist.
Eventually all out war broke out. The dragons and the beasts, and many could not hide among men were the first supernatural casualties, and the first to fight back by tooth and claw. The humans fought back with tank and missile and plane. It was a very bloody time in history.
The celestials often stayed out of the fray, but the dragons turned to the more partial of them for aid. The plan was made to use the powers of the strongest, to end the war, not by fighting, but by leaving.
Dragons with their strong connection to the elements, and gods, with their raw creative ability crafted an entirely new continent and series of related islands. We used magic to set rules. It interferes with most modern vehicles and weapons, and technology based tools. since these things were used to ruin the lives of many, we wanted none of that here.
We invited all who wished to join us, to make homes here. Many came. Some of the more magic reverent humans came too. Many stayed behind. We hope our kin in the world beyond have found a safe place to live.
THE BARRIER Once all who were willing had come, The gods and the dragons formed a complex magical spell, creating a barrier over all the land of Eokia to forbid humans entry by means of sea or air. Non-Magical Technology and humans who come over our space are instantly warped to the other side. Many don't even know our land exists. The guardians of our land maintain this spell, while those who helped build this haven for us, are regarded as heroes, or even akin to gods.
COLONIZATION&WAYS OF LIFE The species spread over the land, conflicting and finally settling on how each would live.
Humans who had come with us, and those who thought like them, began to build. Much of the eastern coast is populated by human cities, and towns. They live simply, and employ the use of magical constructs to improve their quality of life. The more north you choose to go, especially once past the mountains, the more likely you will find cities using modified technologies, pieces adapted from scientific age creations to run on magic, not one of the forbidden energies.
Deeper in to the land, and scattered about are mixed species city states, though much like the human lands, these make a pointed effort to be accommodating to large and small. A long lived supernatural usually presides over these places. Akuzeth, has a strongly draconic government, and is strongly tied to the founders of our land. Fa'vriel is ruled by a fey queen and so on. These cities often consider themselves kingdoms and hold a vast territory more than that encompassed by their walls.
And then there are the kingdoms that do not think in human ways, The fey in their forests, the mer in their seas, the beasts making their homes in the ruins of deceased sorcerers towers, and early castles, the dragons, and others who call themselves a people without a nation, but hold too much power to not hold political influence, and others, more mysterious. The closer to the heart of the land you go, the more wild and untamed it will be. You may cross the lands of beings who do not think like you, and some have very strict laws.
NATIONS Now we consider Eokia to be divided into a few concrete nations
The kingdoms of men. there are two, one which relies on superstition and magic, following the gods and revering the dragons, one which relies on knowledge and study. Men is a broad term, as it includes many humanoid races as well.
The Mixed empires, including Shi'karath, sport a wider mix of races. immortals are more likely to rule.
kingdoms of arcane. including fey, mer, orc, and other long lived humanoids who prefer to isolate themselves from other species. Their rules are not the same as those of men. They are very wise, but also very dangerous.
the beast and elemental kind. including dragons, who knows how many are out there. many live in small family groups, or more solitary. some set themselves up as the guardians and protectors of a certain land, protecting nurturing and culturing other species in their jurisdictions. They ignore borders based on human definitions, but are very firm about the places they care for. they often help in maintaining the magical balance of a location.
HIERARCHY With all these different groups, how is balance kept? there are the gods of course, which are the celestial and beasts who built this land. all who still survive are considered powerful enough to destroy it. they keep to themselves, but intervene if there is an issue that effects eokia as a whole.
under the gods are the monarchs, who rule the political sphere, and the guardians, beast or elemental sorts most often who rule and maintain the laws of nature.
Beyond this, each kingdom and people have their own way of doing things.
NOW Rifts have appeared undoing the work of keeping Eokia separate from the rest of the world. I, Ishiki, one of the elementaldragonkind, with all my cosmic authority, have been having trouble. I have been working hard to eradicate the rifts or redirect them to lead back to where they've come, but the rifts resist even my ability to shape time and space, like nothing I have ever encountered. Stars have also slowly but surely begun to vanish. This is extremely concerning. Even the stars who never lie to me, send mixed messages about the future to come.
I may have to enlist the help of my brethren and those under us to prevent the technologies which broght us so much pain, and the mindset of the humans in that place, from drifting over to our paradise.

Historical Snapshot Delicate fingers tapped the edge of a mysterious sphere, activating it with a strange power. Instantly it opened up, growing into a dense cluster network of nodes, connections and runes, larger than a giant beach ball.
It was nearly impossible to read. The contents of the sphere was clearly visible, calculations and runework done with potent foreign symbolism, some areas so dense that very few individuals even had the ability to focus on one point within the magical codework, let alone regard them in an order which produced meaning. To make matters more complicated, the code was alive, figures changing into others before they could be decoded.
Looking at the thing as a whole was far simpler. There were certain patterns in the magic which remained the same despite all the changes within. Those at least told of the big picture, what the magical code was supposed to do.
They were rules of binding, which belonged to setting standards for action taken or refused, and consequences for each.
If the other five spheres were like it, each held a similar code, and each had the potency to cause a significant amount of damage to the universe around it, by mere virtue of the intensity of the nearly physical magic. Yet clearly the magic was highly self contained and stable. It had already lasted a while and was made to last perhaps millennia more.
Delicate fingers tapped a sharp edged fang, activating it with a strange power, it opened up into a large pyramid shaped code of a similar sort.
This too was a rule but surely a different sort of rule than the kind from the spheres. This rule was a rule of form, a lot like a string of DNA in function. This was part of a string with five others which determined looks, ability allowances, and so on.
A bit remained the same in all twelve parts, rules for their relationship to the one they effected, to others and themselves.
It made sense now why her fingers tingled so much after touching the components, it made sense now why the parts did not like to be handled. There was no need to test the danger further. These parts had a self preservation clause after all.
Another tap closed the magical codes and the fang and sphere which had been studied zipped right back into their proper place.
"Thanks for being so patient kid." The speaker held out a fruit of some sort. It resembled a durian, but the skin was nearly black. "You earned this."
At another time, she might tell the boy what she'd learned.

Warm and hearty like mom's home cooking.
Yet smooth and aromatic like spiced cider
The taste was nostalgic echoing back eons though the rest of the memory was long forgotten.
*Sigh*
The primordial soup had been brewing for millennia.
And it was still perfection incarnate.
He took it through a virtual straw, letting each drop warm his belly and soothe the deep ache rooted there there a little more than the last.
Ah.... It was good. Good to have something that seemed to satisfy his hunger, good to have something that matched the strange desperate craving he has come to with after finding himself escaped from sanctuary.
The pain of being empty was slowly draining away, replaced by a far more desirable sense of weight.
There was a strange feeling inside, which felt kind of new beginning as the smallest of tickles.
A bubble?
It didn't seem inclined to follow the path the rest of the matter ought to take, but rose up backtracking its way through his gullet.
*urp*
A loose nebula of gasses expanded back into the void, quickly losing density in the airless space about.
Somehow this strange phenomenon seemed to finalize the meal, leaving satisfaction and contentment behind along with a pleasant drowsiness.
He began to doze off. This was nice.

Rrrr darn it.
What had she gotten into to create this allergic reaction?
Her arms were flakey, the skin all patchy and black, and bits of it pulled off at the slightest movement exposing the raw skin underneath which in turn began blackening and flaking off in large inch-square sheets.
She knew that she shouldn't, but it was hard to stop picking at the damage. There was something fascinating about it.
At the same time it was dangerous and needed to stop. Her own power wouldn't help. It was equally of decay.
Magical Healers wouldn't work. Their magic tended to be pretty toxic too, especially when it had a pure tilt.
Knowing what sort of things did work for her when she needed medicine, the yokai made up her own concoction, a medicinal salve which should speed her healing ability.
Directions; apply liberally, cover with rain leaves and wait.

There was a man, an old haggard man looking at him in the void.
A wry smile. "Long time no see, old coot. I thought I'd seen the end of ya. Or are you just a memory come to taunt me, now that your work's unraveled?"
No answer. The wraith just floated there in the void, gesturing with his hands.
"Yeah, I'm free now. Those chains couldn't hold me..." he smiled he danced. He tried to rejoice and laugh at the fate he had ended up with, But it was short lived. The singularity flopped into a humanoid heap. "Damn. I can't believe I want them back. How'd ya do it. How'd ya make them? Life's no fun when there aren't any switches. The rules you wrote are a crumbled mess, I don't know what I can't do anymore."
"You're just gonna stare there aren't you old man, like some movie ghost..."
"Well stop it!" The singularity ran through the wraith, finding it about as edible as an idea.
Now he was alone but for the swirling mist of the void. He flopped to his back. "i wanna eat fun stuff...ice-cream and popcorn and..."
"And..."
The singularity sat bolt upright. The information going through his head wasn't just mere food. It was... more like... a recipe, with the oddest ingredients.
a tattoo machine. Anti-matter The speed of light Raw magic A fire seasoned with ash from Necropolis. Pi.
Well something was starting to make sense. What was he doing sitting around here?
He outta go find that Stuff.

Despite the glory of the hosts above, she was the most beautiful thing I ever saw.
Her garb was simple, plain. She hadn't done anything to make herself up, as she worked a simple servitude job in the shelter. All of her energy she was giving to others, loving, helping even people she had no reason to love with open authenticity.
Since my job at the time was to build a hedge around that place, I began coming on to the premises, garbed as a man looking for ways to volunteer I could find out anything I wanted through mere observation of the human soul, but I wanted her to know that I was there.
Coming down to their level was my first selfish act. My posting did not require me to walk among the mortals, yet it was also not forbidden. I suppose the higher ups assumed that humanity's charms would be lost when viewed from close up, where their nature as fallen beings is most visible but...For me the charms grew. Humans have something special we do not other than just the duality of flesh and soul. They have the ability to take initiative and shape their own fates to remarkable degrees dooming themselves to any hell they choose, or coming right to heaven's door. They are also the most spiritually fragile, easily swayed by the results of battles they can't even see.
Before I knew it, I was captivated. She represented the perfect humanity, and I was spending every possible moment supporting her, making sure she did not overwork herself.
Then I was recalled. The hedge was completed. Others were being assigned to maintain it. I belonged now to a different post, and might not get to see the human again during her lifetime. To be honest I couldn't keep myself away. I was neglecting my post to visit her, and the fact that I couldn't be with her all the time, thats what ultimately drew us closer.
Before I knew it we were engaged in the intricate dance of one soul binding to another. In holy union two become two halves a whole in complimentary harmony. They complete one another. It is something we of the highest don't need, but for humans it is a bond that exists through the rest of their lifetimes.
To me it was an ephemeral and fragile flower, and that's what made it so beautiful. Three years are like a second in comparison to eternity, but somehow eternity was completely overshadowed by those three years.
My double life was full of lies of omission. I didn't tell her that I wasn't human. I didn't tell the host that I was neglecting my post for her sake. I didn't tell her how I managed to earn the funds to support her. I didn't tell the host about the child.
But of course they are in the end bordering on omniscient. My lies have been exposed, and I cannot plead innocent when the evidence has been laid at their feet. One day she thought I was at work, the next, I have been forbidden to return.
They wanted to harm my wife, and confiscate the child. I pleaded against that fate and they listened.
Instead here I am stripped of everything I was. I cannot dip into glory. Or stand eye to eye with my brethren. Nor can I walk among mortals.
But I have been allowed to watch every moment of her life. I watch as she struggles to hold two jobs and raise our child alone. I watch as the child struggles to live a human life while seeing as he can not, the growing seed of heaven within him. The hosts won't strip it from him. If his humanity taints him, they'll let me writhe in the knowledge that I had a hand in creating this demon. Meanwhile I watch as she wears out body and soul, aging before the natural time, and eventually being taken to the far realm, to the afterlife her faith predispositioned for her.
So close to glory, but so far. I cannot even meet her there. I no longer have the ability to travel beyond this prison plane. I have been left with nothing except my memories and the taint of my crimes eating at my being.
If it corrupts me fully, the guards will destroy me.

It came and went without any notice.
I've just been so busy here lately, and Eokia uses a different dating system that I seriously didn't know what day it was. It didn't help that I hadn't really celebrated last year either.
But then today a courier came with a package with my name on it.
I didn't see the courier. I was out when he came, so one of Max's many servants had taken the box from him and left on the table in my room.
Ironically it was packaged like it came through S.P.S. with the official sanctuary postage box and everything. It also had my childhood home address written on it which I found really strange. Hadn't the city razed the place? As part of gentrifying the area. Address wouldn't be the same.
After a slight examination marks began to show up on the surface of the box.
To My DeAresT LiTtlE FlaShLigHt....
Now where had I seen writing like that before.
I'm not writing the whole thing out.
I grew increasingly agitated as I read that message. I sure hoped nothing evil was inside. A good many nasty things could fit in this small box.
I braced to defend myself as I began to open the seal on the box.
Nothing came out. There was just another box there. It had a very different kind of seal on it, one that hummed with protective magic.
It was probably the sort of thing made to break only at my touch. As soon as I began to handle it, the marks changed, as if unraveling a password. After that it easily opened for me.
There was a letter in a pink envelope. A newspaper, and a box packaged to hold wireless headphones.
Seriously? Those wouldn't work here.
I started with the letter. Maybe I'd get some indication who this all was from.
Hey dreads.
Thanks for disappearing on me. I suppose it was for the best, but I still gotta get payback. Don't you run forever.
Anyhow a little birdie told me you're looking for a way back to the city.
You're a mad fool.
But so what. Have a ticket. Go ahead and get yourself killed.
A friend of mine's taking care of your apartment, so housings covered. Just make sure you've got a mask. Halloween's coming up you know, its like the one day a year monsters are actually cool.
The 'phones'll work anywhere. Use them to keep in the loop. You'll find some interesting articles in the paper too.
Stay sharp.
Oh and happy 19th.
There was no signature, but I could infer some things from the letter. I began pulling out the rest of the contents from the box.
Headphones. Newspaper. Something was hidden between the pages of the paper. The weight was a bit off. One of those cheep rubber bracelets was there too. And there was an actual train ticket to somewhere. Looked pretty normal front and back.
A quiet sound had been growing from the discarded outer box. It was soon loud enough to attract my notice.
I turned. Shadowy tendrils billowed up from the vandalized packaging like smoke.
That couldn't wait. I had no intention of waiting to see what the evil writing might be brewing.
So without thinking through to the outcome of my actions, I struck it with weaponized light.
The box was still cardboard. It caught fire quickly, flaring up brightly, and jumping into the air. It burned extremely quickly no ash, or anything else was left.
Except for a sear mark on the table.
Damn. Had that been because of me or the package. I better be careful to not set the table on fire.
It didn't look like an ordinary burn. I'd have to find a way to remove it before it turned out to be a curse or something.

For once I feel unified. Exercises in mindfulness have always been helpful in my learning process but this one that I found through my new (magical) headphones seems to have worked better than the rest. I feel stable, well rested, in control in a way that feels natural, I'm not trying to force myself to be anything, and its like a weight off my back.
I find myself laughing once I put the headphones aside. I have potential right now. It was always there but right now I'm aware of it without feeling crushed by it. I'm not worried about breaking anything or hurting anyone cause I know that I won't do so accidentally. Now's a good time to try some new things, and start putting the processes into 'muscle memory' so I can maybe access them later. This empowering feeling isn't going to stick with me forever.
