The woman smiled, in a fashion which could be both friendly and mischievous simultaneously. "you've been recruited." she explained. "care to bring out your revenge in the field?" The latter comment was a tease, but also an attempt to get into the competitive spirit. "you and the fox vs me and the boy unless you want to pick your own teams?"

Choushin nodded his head. "All right! Though I am a kitsune, and not a boy. Big difference." He said as he got ready.
Taige continued to run from the dog, crossing with the court. However, before the dog could get him, he suddenly jumped into the air, watching the dog go under him. However, without using magic, he ended up rolling off the dog's back and tumbling into the sand.

Mizuho grinned. "Sure. I'll take you on with the fox. Be prepared to receive a sound defeat". Mizuho walked towards the side of the net where the fox was located. She greeted him,"Name's Mizuho. How's your day?"

The tall child looked up, startled and slightly disapproving when the woman suggested he be on HER team (although he supposed it WOULD be more fair, an adult and a kid against the same), and as he did so the big dog came crashing into him. The boy flailed with a mad shout, only to stop stock still when he saw a long-limbed feline somersault over the dog's back. Dumb dog and a circus cat. Great.
After a moment he recomposed himself, rushing back to his feet. The dog lay still on the field, but one nudge with his toe and he rolled over onto his back, which was just enough to get him outside the court's boundary lines.
Glaring down at the cat, the child was about to tell it to get dafuq outta the way, but by then the new woman had made her way over to the other side. Whatever-- it wasn't HIS problem now.
With a grumble, he shuffled on over to the woman who'd thrown the volleyball in the first place, taking the spot behind her and to the side. He was careful to maintain a certain amount of distance, not wholly unaware that she could have heard his "broad" comment.
The boy tensed his muscles, crouching on his knees, looking absolutely ridiculous. But he was ready.

Sem chased dog and dog chased cat. When the dog ran into the boy, sem almost didn't get out of the way in time to not trip over the canine and end up toppled on both it and the cat.
As it was the boy still ended up face planting in the sand, tripping over his own two feet.
He sat up, and rubbed his eyes. Not seeming bothered that he was making the sand in them harder to get out instead of easier. The little bits of grit were not very substantial to him.
Of course he was still sort of sitting on the court.
Kohaku commented not to Choushin nor Doppler. She watched the animals antics without acting surprised. Not very smart seeming that dog.
Oh well. She walked over and picked up sem by the hair, unceremoniously plopping the kid outside the confines of the court.
She moved back to her place, waiting quietly.
It was the essentially cat-girl's serve, since Kohaku had never taken the ball back.

Choushin laughed. "Well, name's Choushin. Let's hope my foxy charm can help you to win." He said as he got ready to play.
Meanwhile, Taige managed to not get a boy on him as he shook himself off. "Will the dog stop chasing me?" He asked.

Doppler looked across the net as the...cat...talked. He was so taken aback by this that he couldn't even roll his eyes out of their sockets at Sir "Choushin"'s continuing backwards flattery.
"I dunno," he answered at last, seeing as how it was technically his dog, and, as far as he knew anyhow, the dog could not talk. "Maybe don't be such a tease." In his mind, cats always liked to tease the dogs into chasing them, jumping off fence posts just to get into their line of sight, when otherwise they had been perfectly fine on their perch. He thought that they must secretly like it.
The dog, at least, seemed to have forgotten about chasing the cat altogether. He gave the volleyball field a sidelong gaze from where he lay on his back, before rolling over to bound towards the pavilion where many of the adults sat, taking in all the delicious scents of grilled food. Instead of begging or outright stealing, the dog simply slammed his head into a table, causing enough vibration to make a hot dog roll away before the chattering adult could catch it. Only the dog didn't eat it, grab it, or even sniff it, just blinked as it bounced off his nose, then crawled under the table to lie down, silent, still.
A boy had taken a tumble too. The tall boy quirked a brow as the lady on his side went over, yanked him up by the hair, and popped him outside the court. The other boy did not seem to make any complaints about this, and Doppler quickly averted his gaze, feeling mildly uncomfortable about the whole thing. If he lost...oh, god--what would she do to HIM?

Mizuho grinned. She picked up the volleyball and got ready to serve. "Everyone ready to play?"

The boy rubbed his head for a moment and glanced back at the court with a frown on his face. He didn't feel like messing with that woman right now. Instead, well...
The sandy boy pulled himself to his feet, and toddled off towards the pavilion. If anyone had brought anything food wise that he could enjoy, he was going to find out.
A subtle change in kohaku's face turned her expression from expectation to ice for a moment. She was ready. That much should be clear. She guessed the males were ready as well by the look of things. "Just serve it cold." She instructed "If someone's not ready that's on them."

Choushin nodded his head. "You bet I am!" He said excitedly, ready to start playing.
Taige went back to the edge of the court once the dog left him alone, content with just watching the game.

Zara, an intelligent female gorilla, strolled on to the beach. The sea and sand reminded her of the home she was thrown out of. That home was far, far away now. Maybe she'll find a way back...some day. Until them, she may as well make do with this place.
As she got closer, she saw a variety of creatures. Some were human. Others definitely weren't. Fortunately, she was wearing her homespun clothes.
Zara soon picked up the smell of cooking vegetables and meat. A male human was standing at the place where the food was cooking. "Excuse me, good sir, but would you mind if I ask for some of those scrumptiously hot vegetables? Do you also have anything to drink?", Zara asked in a warm, kind and friendly voice.

Eyes turned, head followed, both were followed by a subtle look of surprise. Although things were quite strange here, a gorilla was not a being peter had expected to see.
"They're veggie burgers, if you don't mind." He pointed out. They didn't look much like vegetables at this point though it was easy to spot onion and carrot in the mix of components that made up the patties.
He flipped one of the veggie patties onto a disposable plate. "Drinks are in the coolers on the ground." He pointed them out with the metal tongs he'd been using.

"Wait for meeee!~"
Luche bounded across the lot, panting hard as she bolted towards the beach. She'd been looking forward to this all week -- all that water was a concern, of course, but not enough of one to warrant staying home. Of course, had she been watching her footing, she would have seen the rock a few paces in front of her. She wasn't.
Her speed was sufficient that, once a hoof slammed into the rock, she didn't merely trip; her forward momentum sent her into a tumbling spin, impressive in that it mimicked a gigantic, erratic bowling ball. She rebounded at an angle off a tree, managing to find her footing just in time to slam bodily into the grill.
Luche didn't have time to find out if she had taken anyone with her because her kinetic motion carried her head-over-heels over the cooking implement -- though she did manage to snag one of the burgers in mid-air.
But that wasn't all!
The ditzy demoness managed to land awkwardly, flipping over and over like a fleshy rampaging tumbleweed, until she hit the picnic table. Between the force of the impact and the angle at which she hit, the table flipped over with tremendous fanfare, landing upright again atop Luche, pinning her momentarily to the ground -- but any food left on said table was flung away.
Unfortunately, one of the boards came loose from the impact, sending it sailing into the volleyball net. Fortunately it narrowly missed whomever was on that misfortunate side. The net bowed with the weight and momentum of the board, threatening to snap its poles in twain; like something out of a cartoon, however, the sticks held their ground, and the net returned to its taunt position. This sent the board speeding right back where it had come from.
As that was happening, Luche attempted to stand up. Tectonic motions lifted the table off the young lady, whom barely registered the fact that her face was directly in the path of the oncoming board. With an audible *CRACK!*, the tabletop board slammed into Luche's face and splintered into a thousand pieces, flinging her flat on her back and out of commission as the sand around her began to settle...

Food everywhere, much of it no good to eat now that it had been spilled in the sand.
Games sabotaged, as play stopped as people had to stop and be aware of the chaos unfolding to avoid a getting a head full of wood.
Personal spread out of place, trampled and in disarray.
The music had stopped a while into the chaos, leaving silence in its wake.
Pain shot through Peter's leg. He must have gotten hit in the chaos. The cook carefully pulled himself to a stand, holding on to a cooler portion of the grill for support as he surveyed the damage. His lips were pulled tight. So much work reserving the pavilion, getting the food, and cooking it, and bringing the beach toys. Now he'd have to front the bill for extra damages. Naturally he was far from pleased. But priorities first.
"Is everyone unharmed?" The 20some year old called, raising his voice to make sure he addressed everyone. If anyone wasn't ok he was going to have to make sure they found someone who could take care of first aid.

As Choushin was waiting for the game to happen, he noticed and heard something happen at the food table. He had managed to duck out of the way. "That's one way to play dodgeball." He joked with a grin as he looked around.
Taige, meanwhile had used wind magic to knock some wood coming towards him out of his face and into the sand. Curious about the new person that came in, he padded over to them calmly.
