Kenessa Did Kenessa ever tell anyone about how on edge Eokia made her? The continent was so strange and shifty - things never really made sense for her.
You'd think that a Planeswalker would find solace in a place like this, right? After all, she dealt in the metaphysical by virtue of biology. Yet, this magical location spat directly in the face of conventional physics, and that was something she couldn't shake off. It was just not right for a human.
Still, here she was, looking for another adventure. She had no idea what she would find, and no idea when she would find it. Having been here for over a week now, she was drawing blanks. She had that itch she needed to scratch.
So, she just walked into one of the coastal towns, taking in the crisp air. All kinds of beings shambled about, doing what they did on a daily basis. Good for them; living all nice and cozy in their kooky Lala Land of a home.
"Bet none of 'em got a lick of worth in their pockets, aye," she muttered to herself. Not that she was in a pickpocketing mood. She hadn't done that since her teenage years. Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female Loner。

"It may be just me, but that man looks like a good stash." A voice spoke out nearby, referring to a man who though plainly clothed, walked careful in a way that showed that he was used to more extravagant wear several yards up ahead.
The stringy voice came from slightly behind and to the right. Possibly she had been spotted out of the corner of the Planeswalker's eye before that, however that would have been before the feline had said anything to draw attention to herself. She was not significantly distinguishable from other felines of housecat size and weight except for the more wild pattern of her coat.
Intelligent eyes regarded Kenessa in a calm and stoic manner as she waited to be properly spotted out from where she waited balancing upon the pegs of a fence.

Kenessa Despite Kenessa's energy tracing being innate to her being, no one could deny that Izune was fast. Very, very fast. Fast enough that, while it more or less subconsciously registered that she was there, Kenessa's conscious mind hadn't quite gotten the message. By the time the impulses reached her frontal cortex, they were overridden by the feline's voice, and a whole new slew of information had to be processed.
In short, she got spooked.
Instead of jumping out of her skin, she closed her eyes and exhaled through her teeth sharply. "Fuck. Dammit," she muttered under her breath. "Hi, cat. Long time."
Her eyes went to the feline being, furrowing her brow. "I thought this was a big continent, yet I'm seeing people I know all over." Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female Loner。

Felines generally quite adept at blending into the background until they wanted to be noticed. It was a useful skill for obvious reasons. The feline practically glided along the edge of the pickets keeping pace. "Small world." she purred, not bothering to ask who else the girl might have met that she knew already in eokia. "interested in expanding it?" She expected Kenessa to be interested. "you'll have to rough it, but there'll be rewards." Jay

Kenessa Kenessa pondered Izune's words for a moment. "You know, there're fairy tales about not listening to silver-tongued cats," she responded.
Then, she crossed her arms. Obviously, Izune knew this wasn't something the auburn haired thief could refuse. "What kind of loot we talkin'?" Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female Loner。

The feline chuckled. Leave it to a moral from another place to warn about fairytales. There was a little truth to those old stories, but they were not something on which to too closely rely.
The feline paused, balancing on the fence post for a moment, before trying to jump on the female's shoulders. It was going to be a narrow perch, but she was not going to need to use her claws in order to hold on to the place. "we're talking gold, gems, finely crafted magical accessories, collected by an ancient wyrm. Few dare come near for now to find them, but how long before that reputation change?" Jay

Kenessa Gold, gems, magical artifacts. Sounded like the general haul. But, once guarded by a wyrm?
"Sounds like a lot of trouble," Kenessa said. "How can I trust your word? Got anything to corroborate?" Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female Loner。

"you'll just have to go and see." The feline pointed out. She wasn't going to prove her tale on anything else. All the better to not attract more treasure hunters to the area. "If you would like, I don't mind tagging along. I get a choice in the profits, and you get an extra body guard." She bargained. That much was all she intended to give. Jay

Kenessa So, that was that, huh? Typical dealers - always wanting to be mysterious. She knew the vagueness was to be expected; Izune wanted a way out just in case anything went south.
Maybe they weren't so different. Obviously, Kenessa would bail on the feline if things took a turn for the worse.
"Half. That's the max you get," she said in response to Izune. "For the info," was the clarification. "Beyond that, I don't need you as a babysitter. When we get to this hoard, we deal with the issue."
Whether that meant dumping the cat or continuing the journey would hinge on the validity of this supposed treasure trove. Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female Loner。

"Not even talking about numbers that big." Izune mentioned casually. If the horde was not picked clean by others already and still had plenty in it, then all Izune wanted was the choice of one or two baubles. If it didn't have much, Kenessa could have just about all of it unless there was something truly interesting in the horde. "I've seen you fight remember? I know you can hold your own." Izune chose to remind the girl.
That had been a while ago. Izune had been on a investigation with Maximillion, and Kenessa had come into the same area looking for things she could convert into cash. Then some variety of undead had begun to show up, and Kenessa had eventually vamoosed. She knew what to expect. Jay

Kenessa Not wanting half? Now, that was a foreign concept to the auburn head. She didn't know if it was Izune's magnanimous side showing, or if it was because she wasn't sure what lie ahead for them.
Either way, the feline had made her point. Though, the pirate was very much puffing herself up. The fight at the abandoned town was a fluke, at best. She was good at capture and escape, not taking on big nasties with a smile on her face.
No, that idiot in the purple seemed to be more that speed. Izune, herself, was no slouch in combat, either. But, she just chocked that up to typical Eokian culture. Gotta know how to fight when your lands consist entirely of wilderness and medieval technology.
After a brief pause, Kenessa spoke once more. "Where is it, and do I need to port us there?" Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female Loner。

The feline rolled out a map, which had been hidden by her shapeshifted form, holding it in front of Kenessa's eyes in a way that was too close to actually look at the details at first.
She waited for the girl to take the paper document. The map was unlabled but obviously was of the eastern side of eokia. "see to the west, that small lake right below the mountains? that's close." It was far enough away to take a days, maybe weeks to traverse on foot by human limits. "Porting's best unless you want to be clawing through wilderness." Jay

Kenessa Kenessa went cross-eyed for a second, trying to look at the map thrust into her face. When she snatched it up from the feline, she raised an eyebrow.
The location seemed a bit remote, though she wasn't too sure what lie near it considering that the Eokian boundaries changed as frequently as the seasons.
She nodded, then lowered the paper to stare at Izune. "Got something to chew on?" Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female Loner。

"Got jerky, but I know you don't want this." izune pointed out. The dried meat wasn't human-friendly food, so hopefully Kenessa didn't actually need something to chew on for herself. Jay

Kenessa Kenessa smirked slightly. "I meant for you, hun. We're gonna do a little space hopping."Touching the feline's shoulder, she took one last look at the map, pinpointed the coordinates from their relative position, and nodded. "Here we go."In an instant, she and Izune would be thrown through spacetime, and sent to their location. END, CONTINUED IN NEW THREAD.
