I rub my chin at his explanation. It sure was interesting what he was selling, and, well, I wasn't exactly the best person to disprove him, but I wasn't fully convinced. "Well, I just don't think that's the case. See, we get essence, just less of it, because it's densely compacted here." I shrug. "And just because that essence doesn't seem like the essence that we're used to, that doesn't mean it isn't Essence. Hard to say, though, because I'm not the specialist in that department. Like I said, affecting the World That Is, that's more my companion's deal." I grin a bit. "But I've got a hunch that Essence is just a bit smaller than what you're thinking of."
Still, the fact that multiplicity of Existences coincided made that less necessary and less important. Shrugging my shoulders, I just continue walking. "It's not really too important to me whether there's base Essence anywhere or not, because as long as I can do my job, then that's fine with me. I'm sure that'll be something that my companion would love to get into scientific discussion and debate about, however, so if you'll humor her, that could be interesting to watch."
When he says what he does at the end, however, I laugh and shake my head. "Oh no, that's not anything to be concerned about. It can't and won't happen. After all, that's not what's fated to occur, you see. It's not the Destiny I've woven for this place. So you needn't worry, whether or not it will truly happen."

Was he teasing his patience, doubting his sight? It seemed that the role Ishiki happened to play was not being properly understood in the slightest. Nothing he stated was mere theory or conjuncture. It actually was in operation here. A vein of annoyance ran through the deity, including a shift in the air, a dangerous state.
bonds of existence began to strain, threatening to snap, and no tinkering with fate, would act as guaranteed prevention of whatever he planned to do.
"Destiny here, of greater things, is not yours to shape. You are not to usurp the balances already in place. Otherwise it is my job to remove you and your partner, and all you have wrought, and send you back to your own reality."
He was willing to let them stay but, there were rules in place that had to be maintained. They could not be allowed to just snatch control of reality and do whatever they wanted with it. The damage to this reality caused by such conduct was too strong to be ignored.

It had been five days since he had given me that rather heavenly massage, and it had lifted my energy enough to send me into working straight on the Communion with the Shinma that I needed to do for the twenty-four hours after that. However, I realized that there was more to do before working on setting up the ritual for the construction of those manses, along with several other benefits, was worth my time. I realized that this realm was still susceptible to being collapsed, moved, or otherwise affected from the outside, which was something I did not want. Luckily, the solution was already on hand, all I had to do was further redefine the laws of nature in this area, this time on a more basic and fundamental, if less extensive, level than I had just finished. As such, I once again entered a trance, this one deeper and longer than the other one by orders of magnitude. Within it, I did more than just add the three manses and the veins of magical materials and cause the realm to defend itself. Instead, I added a new law of nature to the area, enforced by effects that rivaled the power of the greatest sorceries only available to the Primordials and the Solar Exalted. I engraved upon the world the principle that in the event that anyone or anything besides myself or Shinzo affected this patch of reality, it would snap back as if nothing had ever happened. Damage would repair itself, any distance it moved would be reversed instantly, and it would end up right back where it originally was if someone had the gall to attempt to banish it from this dimension and to another. Only by the consent of myself or Shinzo would this be allowed to occur.
On the fourth day of work, the working that would implement these laws was complete, and I held it within my hands. It was an orb of immense potential and energy that would not be stopped once released, it's golden and rainbow energies, the mixture of both the Essence of the Solar Exalted and the Essence of the Shinma, coruscating through it and arcing out into the air around it, eager to be allowed to leave. It simply needed to be finished. I channeled the final essence needed to implement it into it, leaving my cast mark glowing and my anima glowing around my body so that I could watch it at work, and tossed it into the air, setting the final part of the ritual into motion. With an audible crack, it practically exploded, a shockwave of reality that was cracking and reforming under it's new principle followed shortly by a wave of gold and then a wave of rainbow essence as it expanded throughout the land. It stopped when it hit the limits of the territory I had claimed with my Wyld Shaping, and as it finished covering the land it fully came into effect. Now it was impossible to affect this land without our consent, allowing us to work without interference. Unless someone were to bend our minds to force us to give consent, a task that was extremely hard to do, it would be impossible to affect this realm in a way that we did not wish.
Upon turning my eyes away from that and to the world I noticed two entities of power outside, one of them familiar and one very much not so, walking side by side. One of them, the more powerful one, was Shinzo, his Essence and Reality shining more brightly than the person next to him. However, the person showed up far more than anything else in this realm did, their pattern still noticeable despite being made up of far more tightly packed and patterned Essence than myself or Shinzo were. That was a product of this universe that seemed to have it's Reality bound up in tighter patterns and harder to take in than our own. After all, Essence was simply Existence or Reality if you wanted to represent it that way. The very fundamentals of everything were Essence, it simply took different forms. Anyone who said otherwise simply didn't look deeply enough or simply thought that Essence only referred to the free-flowing kind that was used to power our magics, and perhaps the less fluid kind that made up our body. Anyone who thought that was a fool or unlearned however, after all, even here I could unbind the patterns of this reality to produce a more fluid Reality for us to use.
Deciding that since they were likely a visitor and not an enemy, I activated my Metasorcerous Phylactery not to wipe them from this territory, but to instead teleport myself in front of Shinzo and our guest. At a closer look, he seemed to have a somewhat similar pattern to his Essence as the Spirits of our world did, meaning that if things came down to a fight that sort of charm would likely have at least some effect on him. He also looked the part too, which was a rather interesting thing. Perhaps that pattern of essence made such appearances more likely? More data was necessary. In any case, I decided to ask Shinzo what was going on using Old Realm, as I didn't have the tongue of this world down yet and I was not in the mood to use more essence if I didn't need to, I had just used a lot after all. "Shinzo, can you give me a rundown on what is going on with our not-spirit guest? I just got done fixing this reality so that nobody but us can interfere with it and as such missed his arrival and what has been going on. Does this require me to use my linguistics to fake knowledge of this land's languages?" I asked, my words likely sounding like a beautiful song in an alien language to our visitor who did likely not speak Old Realm, barring any magic he may or may have to imitate knowledge of a language.

I had wondered how long it would take. It was honestly amazing to me, between her enthusiastic response to my massage and the previous exertion, I hadn't expected her concerted effort on the application of the Shinmaic Principles required. But such things were the purview of the Solar Exalted, their magnificent abilities to overcome whatever challenges the world had in store by taking them head on, rather than avoiding it and taking it from another direction like the Lunars and the Sidereal did, or through force of numbers like the Dragon-Blooded. It was good, because the diplomatic solution just didn't seem to be working and if this being happened to be powerful enough to back up his talk, it'd be better to have someone better at the straightforward solution. Destiny wasn't mine to shape indeed.
I smile as Kishar appears beside me, expecting such a thing. "It's good to see you, my dear." I say, in the language he'd understand easily. As she addresses me in Old Realm, I listen to him talk about what she had preconceived about this encounter. "That'd probably be better, but you should really have put some effort into actually learning the language. It's not too difficult." Still, what she mentioned was rather good to know. Turning back to our uninvited guest and shrug. "Well, I'm certainly sorry you see things that way. I don't intend any trouble, and it's not like what we've done is going to be causing trouble, so I'm hoping we can come to some reasonable arrangement." I shrug. "I did suggest we get working on that before she ended up showing up, but it's a bit more difficult now, but I'm willing to press on if you are." I cough. "But this is a negotiation. I'd rather not need to stress this point, but threats are in rather poor taste, aren't they?" I smile. "I'm sure we can work something out without them."

When Ishiki said that he was not made of essence, it was true that he was not made of essence and no amount of them wanting to believe otherwise would change that fact. Also the strangers seemed as stiff in their physiological make up from his perspective as he probably seemed to them. The differences were there and clear cut, regardless of what they wanted to believe.
They were also very off base in the classification of his physiological nature, he was far from a spirit.
They said what they did would not have effect, but this world did not work like that. The ripples would continue to flow regardless of how they tried to recodify things, particularly outside of this patch of land since they had forced upon it their own law.
Not only that, but they were not the only beings who could drastically reshape reality. Did they think they were?
The strain on reality continued to remain, digging deep into the patterns created, including the newest magic kishar had used.
He could dismantle it if he truly needed to.
He turned towards them, his expression, cool, nearly stoic but the vein of hostility remained. His ageless features had a crow like quality now, intelligent, precise. The threat he offered remained. That meant they had really pissed him off. Very few things brought Ishiki to this much anger. "Continued meddling. Insisted meddling with the world and its law. Blatant refusal to allow consequences or accept things in this world be different than what you are used to, when those very laws are what keep this universe balanced. Trying to make it so no one but you can change the things you do. Acts such as these cause trouble no matter how you try to reinvent the results. All of these must stop, but does not seem like you are willing to negotiate that."
