WILDERNESS
REGIONS & TERRAIN
INTRODUCTION
The Wilderness encompasses all the wild lands of the world, from vast deserts in eokia where magic storms rage, to quiet forest lands on the outskirts of sanctuary suburbs, to the oceans that cut between continents, and even, chaotic places in Necropolis where things of nightmares dwell. Basically the wilderness is the places where civilization is not. There are no concrete jungles, or towns, or supermarkets out here, so come prepared.
Territory Description:
Snowy peaks, boiling deserts, quiet forests, and ocean depths. All of that is here, interconnected through odd rifts and folds in spacetime that meld one into another in unusual, and sometimes jarring ways. These rifts make many territories interconnected, creating melding of ecosystems, The nexus of which has been dubbed The Giant's Compass.
THE GIANT'S COMPASS
Many rifts and folds in spacetime meet at this set of floating islands. The land is truly shaped like a compass, with a large central island known as the Compass Rose, and many satellite islands. The Compass rose always points north, but the satellites may be at any place in orbit even in the air or under the sea, creating some ecosystems which are truly surreal. Climates range from frigid icecaps, to balmy rainforests, but vary greatly depending on the compass' location. Intense magnetism holds the whole thing together. Incredible auroras, erratic weather, disrupted magic, technology, and even conventional concepts of physics gone awry are just a few of the effects of the compass' magnetic field on the land. The magnetism makes the exact location of the Compass nearly impossible to track, or even reach through techno/magical means.
Beware the center of the Compass Rose. There are many rumors about it, but none have come out to tell what is really there.
Aside from the compass there are more terrains than one alone can imagine. Below are just a few.
BARREN WASTELANDS
With not a healthy plant nor drop of water nearby, stretches the vast Barren Wastelands. Only the strongest and those with the best endurance can make it and survive here in the deserts, canyons, and plateaus. Very little rain falls in these places.
{REGIONS}JAGGED PEAKS
One of the harshest mountain ranges in the world lies here. Jagged and rocky mountain peaks jut up towards the sky from the land with stone made from obsidian and sandstone, but mostly volcanic rock. Hiking or flying up to the peaks poses a challenge to any creature with the dry, wild air or the broken land.

SNOWY MOUNTAINS
Year long snow, and subzero temperatures make living here a challenge. Some days the sun never seems to set, while others are graced with eternal night. It is an aweinspiringly beautiful, but dangerous land, as anything ill equipped to handle the elements is likely to freeze to death.
{REGIONS }FROZEN FJORD
Once a lush fjord section of the mountains, this rugged area has become nothing but a field of ice, snow, and bitter cold wind. The water is partially frozen over, and the Snowy Mountains around rise high, battered by wind and sleet. The fjord falls to the sea in the Bay of Storms, and the flow starts from Icebound Lake, located only slightly higher than the Fjord, in the Snowy Mountains. There is caverns dug in the walls of fjord, acting as home for many creatures of the small population, and offering a hiding place to the trespassers and the refugees.
BAY OF STORMS
Off on the northwest coast is a huge bay, where the Frozen Fjord flows into the sea, where skies are always gray and cloudy, with lightning storms from the static build-up, and the occasional rain and noisy thunder. Waves whip and crash the shores, and the strong wind can blows nonstop, making it a place where only the brave venture. The Bay gives a nice home to sea monsters and those, whom are capable of taking this harsh environment. If one desires to see the northern seas, he or she must travel to the Bay of Storms to access these seas. Unlike the other mountain areas, it is surprisingly warm despite the conditions.
ICEBOUND LAKE
A cold lake, set to the middle of the mountains, is a hunting grounds for the predators of northern section, including native humans. The lake itself is not frozen, unlike it's name says, but the icebound area in the bottom of lake, with a few spots not covered; these spots let the water flow to the Fjord slowly, making lake the beginning of Fjord. It reminds a peaceful Scandinavian lake, and to the east from it, lies the northeast Pinewoods, the actual homeland of many in the Snowy Mountain region. Icebound Lake is a miracle itself, and does not hide any mysteries... or does it?
PINEWOODS
The survival of fittest is the absolute law and etiquette of northern section; the strong survive, the weak die, simple as that. However, a forest in the northeast, in the eastern side of Snowy Mountains, called Pinewoods, is a safe house for most of animals and visitors, while the predators still move there at night. The pines and the spruces of the Pinewoods give an excellent protection and advantage to all indigenous creatures.

WOODLANDS
Many varieties of trees stand tall, offering shade to those who wander beneath their branches. Streams and rivers cut through the landscape, nurturing the flora and fauna. It is easy to get lost in the tranquility of this place, but equally easy to underestimate the dangers that may lurk here.
{REGIONS}DARK JUNGLE
In the heart of the Woodlands lies the darkest place of all: the Dark Jungle. Trees grow crooked and twisted here, while any fresh water seems to be nothing but an oily liquid. Barely any sunlight passes through the thick, black canopies. Only the bravest of creatures venture here, and those with the darkest intentions and hearts.
FRUIT ORCHARD
In the midst of all the other forests lies the best-smelling, sweet Orchard. Some say it was ancient creatures who planted the many groves of apples, peaches, oranges, and other fruit-producing plants, while others say it was a spell of Life Magic that was cast over the land. Nonetheless, the Fruit Orchard is a calm home for all with nice climate and a seemingly endless spring.
NOBLEWOOD
Noblewood is another vast forest with flora and fauna of all sorts, including oaks, willows, aspens, cottonwoods, cypresses, and more. In the autumn, the canopies turn golden and brown, with leaves falling constantly until all is bare and still.
HIGHLAND RAINFOREST
Raining most of the time, the Highland Rain-forest is one of the wettest places on the continent. Below the trees is sticky, marshy, and humid, but bustles with life. The canopies are also full of flora and fauna of all types.
REDWOOD FOREST
Giant trees such as redwoods and sequoias crowd the landscape here, many as old as time itself. There are streams on the ground below, but most creatures reside in the canopies. Overall, this place is one of the most majestic known to all races.

OCEAN DEPTHS
Under the sea is a vast and often overlooked realm. Great kelp forests and coral reefs hold exotic wonders, while underwater valleys where no light comes hold alienesque horrors.
