This place was dark and secluded, yet the lone figure who traveled through the ebon expanse seemed to like it that way. The darkness was comforting, peaceful in a sense. Nearly silent steps fell one after the other as the young femme followed in behind a ghostly blue wisp. The spirit had no real form to it, just a small blob that floated and zipped around as it pleased. Normally Sabishii would have offered to help such a wayward soul, yet it insisted that it was perfectly fine and that it did not long to leave to the great beyond just yet. Instead, the wisp offered to help her escape the maze that was the dark jungle. Coming to agree she found herself a new traveling partner, or at least for the time being. She kept her traditional skull mask adorned with leaves and feathers upon her face, it was the last remnants of her home she had left. Or at least the feathers were. As she grew Sabishii had to find replacement skulls that would fit, which proved to be quite the tedious task. A couple of hours later and she found herself at a dense creek where the spirit departed from her. She must have been close to the exit. Yet, once again she was all alone.

Maybe the question should be why here as opposed to all the way out of the dark wood. It wasn't a bad place to stop surely, if one liked the dark, but where was the exit. A bad choice and one could still remain lost here wandering for a very long time couldn't they. But what if there was a reason why the spirit had come or had left?
A pinkish light flickered near the torn face of the semiformless male spirit, bringing him from a state of semi-consciousness to full awareness. the gaping holes in his face were not damaging to his ability to perceive the world, though here in this state the spiritual was far clearer than the physical, as though the roles of solid and ghost had been reversed. it spoke. the communication was not like words, but a pulsing of light. The quality and tone of the pinkishness varied from deep off pinks, to bright near white, and the patterns were where the speech was. He listened. It was interesting to hear the news. After the separation of a missing moon, it was good news. his spiritual heart warmed with hope at a living connection to the past. she had come somewhere he could find.
There was only one problem. It stood in the tattered soft snake shell textured Mask that Splattered flame had not yet trashed. He could not trash it as it was his tie to having a physical form, but it was useless for now. He picked it up, holding the shell mask gently with one of his claw like forepaws. He should come see her, She was close according to the messenger spirit, so he came, drifting at the pace of someone who wants to rush but is incapable of rushing, the dark torn face, the floating feathery mane which moved like underwater plants, and his movement through the air near the ground, symilar to paddling water.
He came through the trees. He'd probably be seen first by the whiteness of the gaps in his face, in contrast to the darkness the five eye like ones, and the partial jaw. Sabishii was no longer alone.

Confused. That was the first emotion she seemed to register within her mind. Now where was she supposed to go? She contemplated this for a moment, her steps hesitant as she moved in one direction but took a step back, unsure of herself. It was not long before her eyes noticed a vivid light, narrowing them slightly she focused more one the levitating figure. Recognition flashed across her features as she continued to peer through her skull mask. Was that really her father, or was it some malicious spirit playing a tricky apparition on her? It had been so long since she'd see her family members that she did not think she'd run into them now. Regardless, Sabishii took a step closer her breath hitching in her throat a bit as she fought to find words to say. Swallowing thickly she managed to speak past the hard lump that had formed in her throat. Father? Is that really you?

Appearance wise everything lined up, but of course with spirits, tricks could be played. There was wisdom in being cautious. Yet, the odd spirit being would speak the truth to his daughter. "You know in your heart of hearts who I am." Those familiar with spirits could know, deeply in their own soul, the truth of such things, especially with those they'd established bonds with. Surely Sabishii was no different in this regard.
though his being was not warm, he moved in to embrace her. The separation was something never intended to end up this long. Even he, used to helping the dead to leave behind the world was not desensitized to the ache of separation. Now thankfully this need be no longer. At least father and child could be in each other's presence. If only it could be bridged completely, for those of flesh and those of spirit could not usually touch, and not even his mask could bridge that gap now.

You know in your heart of hearts who I am. That statement alone was so simple and yet so powerful that Sabishii held no doubt that the floating figure before her was in fact her father. As he moved forward to embrace her she leaned against his cold form, her breath coming out soft and slightly shaky. Tears threating to well up within her eyes and spill over as she tried to embrace him all the same. I never thought that I would see you again after the separation of everyone. How have you been? She questioned, lifting her gaze to the many white points of her father's own eyes. She supposed that she looked rather differently to him in a physical aspect, with the feathers, small skulls, beads and warlike paint that decorated her body. Some might even dare to compare her appearance to that of a witchdoctor, but without the malicious intent that normally followed them. However, Splatteredflame had been able to recognize her spirit and that brought her great joy. I''ve missed you, a lot.

The fact that he wasn't physical at all strengthened the appearance divide. He'd look far more like her if he was wearing his mask, if his body wasn't amorphous but instead flesh and blood like hers. As for the paint, bones and feathers she wore, all were just decoration. He indeed knew her spirit, and that was where most of the similarities lay.
"I suppose I've been on the fringe of living." he told truthfully and grimly. "Until this piece of my heart returned to me." He often wasn't so poetic, but he had missed his daughter too. Alas, family was such a fragile thing sometimes, and the pain of its loss very strong. Being akin to a ghost, he'd also missed out on some of the blessings which came with actually being alive. His sense of touch for example prevented him from feeling his daughter's embrace the way it ought to be.
At least this time hopefully he need not leave her side for a while, and definitely not without due warning.
