The man nodded, walking once more over to a place by the fire. This time he set himself down beside the nearest tree, a bit far from the warmth, and angled himself so that he could see the fox, her wagon, and the road all in one glance.
He didn't particularly like the idea of sleeping in such an open space, in full view of such a traveled public pathway, and would probably move somewhere more concealed later on in the night. For now, however, this was a good spot while he remained awake.
He watched as the fox lit a lantern, letting his voice carry over to her as she did so. "Perhaps I should introduce myself for the night: I am Ahote."

Zara, the female intelligent gorilla, usually preferred to travel during the day. This time, she was out and about at night. She had tried to sleep, but was too restless.
Her wanderings took her to a road that seemed lightly---if ever---used by anyone. She wears simple clothes. For warmth, she wears a hooded cloak over homespun fabric.
After several days, Zara smelled fire. She followed the scent until she came upon two beings (Ahote & Shianna). That's when she smelled a horse and food.
"Good evening", she said. "My name is Zara. I am looking for a farm or somewhere else where I can buy food and drink. My supplies are running low."
Fortunately, she was wearing the cloak with the hood covering her face. Her eyes, the soft brown color of freshly-turned soil, could be seen. She also looked highly intelligent.
"Have either of you seen a farm or some other place where I can buy some comestibles?" Despite her Amazon-like size, her voice was soft, warm, kind and friendly. Zara wasn't armed. Judging by her size alone, it was easy to tell that she doesn't have, need or use a weapon.

the slender black fox beamed with cheerful smile. "Call me Shianna." She introduced herself.
Oh, another! The fox hopped away from the camp to greet the newcomer, glad to see it wouldn't be just two tonight, it was always more secure in a larger group. "There's a town down this road a bit further in the direction you're going, theres some farmers ajecent who sell their wears there. " Shianna explained "course no shops will be open at this hour. For food at least, you're welcome to share some dinner with us tonight. there is plenty of stew left."

He returned the smile, which dropped fast when he heard footsteps -- not passing by on the road, but instead approaching them from it. Narrow, dusty gray eyes carefully watched the stranger, whose stature was rather impressive, to say the least; all done up in concealment, the reddish brown man slowly rose to his feet, all the miscellanea dangling from his body clattering against one another as he did so.
He didn't trust such an imposing figure who felt the need to conceal his face, and the stranger's voice, which didn't seem to fit the build at all, only put him more on edge. However, his host here seemed willing enough, bounding away to greet the stranger; the fox seemed far more accustomed to welcoming strangers into her abode than he was.
Forcing his muscles to relax, the human, whose entire body, even his face, was covered in dark, mazelike tattoos, offered up a few kind words of his own. "If there's a material or tool you need, I may be able to provide."
A heavily freckled hand swept across his chest, gesturing to all the various small things hanging from his body. Most of the items on his person were scraps, many of them scavenged from the natural world itself, such as sticks and stones and the like, but hidden amongst all that mess were several more complete objects: the bowl, for instance, which the fox had already seen, or the rattling turtleshell banjo slung across his shoulders, which was the most easily discernible object on his entire person, and at the moment hid the empty quiver for the bow he'd broken earlier that day; there were many tools for foraging and hunting, and for wilderness survival and travel in general.
He reached over to his waist, pulling off a leather pouch, and walked closer to the fire, holding it out for the stranger to take. "Here is some water."
