A pool of black water, which somehow still reflected the appearance of the youthful-looking imp, was intriguing to play with. Abeo held a long, rock-solid stick, and stirred the water, swishing it to and fro while blinking red optics in amusement as she played with it. A delicate hand inched forward to touch the water as she crouched closer, squishing the odd substance in her hands. Pitch black, but definitely pure water. Just what was this, if not shadows in liquid form? The childlike half-Daemon did not mind the black waters staining her lavender-hued dress. The material was spirit-matter anyway, and she could find and put on new clothes at a moment's notice. Mysterious magic certainly was fun to dabble in, after all. Putting down the stick, Abeo put both hands in the water, cupping them slightly, before throwing them up in order to splash water into the air. She giggled aloud in delight as it rained back down on her. Fresh water in the world of the living was always a joy to wade in and play with. This new water she had never seen before in Necropolis, which had natural water of its own, was also quite fun. Only, why was it here? Was she the first to discover it? Maybe. Maybe not. //Might lead into the 'Splash of Darkness' quest. Not sure yet. I just want to casually RP right now, so I won't promise long replies. Apologies. Blair

Black water....It was the first time the devilish looking homonculus had seen such a thing. Of course black water was less interesting than the person playing with the stuff, but both were still able to capture the copper bell's curiosity. He flew under the droplets, chiming softly. Despite his appearance, which imitated a creature from this sort of place, his note was pure and clear, and unique enough that it couldn't be mistaken for another sound, or another bell.

The rather youthful looking half-Daemon continued her delighted giggles as she splashed more fo the black water up into the air, in order to feel it rain back down on her. Would this not be wonderful if it really could rain, without her help? It was far more fun than normal water, after all. In her peripheral vision, however, Abeo made out a rather unfamiliar form. It looked like a small ball, though it had devilish wings, stubby horns, and a tail. The sound it made was very unique-- like a bell, but not. "Excuse me, you. What are you?" she asked curiously, tilting her dark-haired head and stopping the splashing in order to turn her red eyes towards the special creature.

Splashing. Laughter. Ringing bells.
There was a scythe. A very tall scythe with a crooked, rusty blade, and a pale snaith edged in ebony. Leaning against a fleshy, muddy wall, the object had been fast asleep, brought out of its rest only by the unmistakable chime of a bell. Short ears, like twisted swirls of graphite, rolled upwards as the blade swung backwards, toppling the scythe from its repose.
Ink erupted from five points on the snaith, forming squiggly human arms, caprine legs, and a forked tail. Fingers tore through the side of the building as it tried to catch itself, one hand falling to pick itself back up. Perched aboard its blade, an oily pyramid no bigger than a fist flared into life, bright light pouring outwards before quickly being sucked back in, reduced to a simple ambient glow.
Stumbling forwards, the scythe tilted its blade where a demon was flicking black droplets into the air, some sort of imp flitting about the forced rain. The pyramid rose, hovering like a halo just above and behind its blade, as the object began to steady and straighten itself. The blade, though it seemed clearly to be made of metal, was arching and wriggling about as though it were the snout of a sengi. The glowing pyramid ran circles round its head before, finally, settling on a spot just past the toe of its blade, a narrow ray of light passing over the strangers before it.

The bell was pleased to be noticed by the female being, and chimed several more times in happiness just at that. He fluttered up towards eye level, and turned himself upside down. He did not speak, for although he was perfectly capable of doing so, it was soon clear that they were not alone.
Arturo wasn't sure yet if the scythe was 'kin' a homonculus such as himself, or more like Abeo, possessing a different kind of life force which did not need to be 'collected' by hanging around those who actually had 'soul', 'spirit' or whatever the best term was.
Curious, he lazily fluttered towards the metallic arc so that he could get close enough to find out.

The scythe on the metal wall did not catch the young half-Daemons attention at first, as her focus was only on the new and interesting creature, for the moment. She enjoyed the unique sound it made, which was unlike anything she had ever heard in Necropolis, or the World of the Living. Abeo smiled wide as the winged creature fluttered down to eye level. "Can you speak?" she asked in a curious and pleasant manner, wondering if the unique being was nonverbal, as it did not respond to her in words, but only a few seemingly happy chimes.
Only then did the keen imp feel the narrow beam of light from some other source hit her. Turning her red gaze towards the source, the smile left Abeo with only a neutral, but still curious, expression. The creature seemed to notice too and began fluttering over there. By instinct and driven by her curiosity, the half-Daemon followed, red eyes flicking between the winged creature to the strange scythe.

Light retreated when the two began to creep its way. Although the standing demon seemed to keep its distance, the spherical bat was quick to flap in very close; as it neared its blade, the metal curved and spiraled inwards like a spring at the ready, the shaft arcing and then falling forward as the object fell to its hands in order to avoid being touched by the creature. Blade held steady in its position of potential energy, hiplike tail lashed out a warning towards the duo as the scythe slipped aside, away from both strangers as it pushed itself back to its feet, the forked ends of its tail splitting and merging with each other as a fractal in motion, twitching upwards as if to pluck the flyer from the air, though they purposefully remained at a distance.
All through these movements the pyramid bobbed and bounced above the blade, and, upon the scythe standing straight once more, emitted something of a vibrating, discordant bong, which sounded almost like the bell's chime --after having been put through a grinder and reverberator. Underneath the remaining echo a voice had been lain, hissing, hard to hear, words unintelligible, scratching.

The bell flitted away slightly but still remained close to the sentient weapon thing. He found himself quite confused by its actions, unable to understand why anything would shy away so much from a tiny thing such as himself who could fit in a person's palm.
Like a drunken butterfly he flew a little forward, a little back, constantly moving about a foot in any possible direction but essentially staying put once the sum of all his flight was considered.
When he chimed again there was a questioning tone to the single clear tone, articulating his confusion. Even if he and the scythe were actually alike he did not understand the eerie bong it made, nor the scratching. It might be close to his first language, but if so, it was like a speaker had a heavy foreign accent. He'd be willing to pay attention and listen if there was something that he could make sense of.

The young imp was truly confused about what was transpiring with the odd, seemingly inanimate object ahead. Instead of continuing forward, Abeo ran back towards the black puddle of the unique liquid, and bent down near it. She cupped her hands, and reached to carefully pick up some of the obsidian-colored substance. Enough of it had soaked her dress, but it was important not to drop this handful, unless she wished to repeat the process of cupping and carrying it.
On nimble, but graceful, legs, Abeo moved back towards the strange winged creature and the scythe. Both were making unique melodic noises, which could lead her only to guess they were attempting some form of communication. Whatever it was, she failed to understand. Nevertheless, the dark-haired girl smiled and approached the scythe. Grinning and with a small delighted giggle, Abeo attempted to splash the black water in cupped in her hands at the scythe's blade. She aimed as best as she could, hoping she would not miss, and it would not dodge. She loved splashing in the water. If the weapon was somehow alive, or something simply remaining in an inanimate transformation, surely it would enjoy the water as much as Abeo and the brown and green creature. Currently, she dismissed the odd noises, finding them of little importance at the present moment.

As though a limb in the wind, the scythe swayed in rhythm with the bell, clearly entranced by its teasing motions. In tune with the flying creature, when it had settled on a spot, so did the scythe, its blade straightening once the distance was certain.
The critter chimed again, and the halo of a pyramid extended its light to the sound, before pulling back with a blink and a spinning whirl. There was a brief moment before the chime was echoed back, with the same sort of distortion as before.
The object hadn't been paying attention to the other-- the standing imp. Focused too fully on the bell, it took the splash to its face fully and with much surprise. The scythe twitched and bent horribly, limbs flailing as its staff twisted into a writhing zigzag, the object falling to the floor. The glowing pyramid did not follow it down, instead remaining in midair.
After a roll and a wrench, the scythe was skittering on all fours; with a leap, it snatched the pyramid by the tip of its blade, skidded on the floor, then bounded past the duo and towards the black puddle from whence the imp had gathered the oily water. With nothing but the sound of a grinding crack following in its wake, it hopped high, then dove down, disappearing into the puddle's shallow depths.
---------- This could be considered a exit, but if the two do eventually go through the puddle, then the scythe might return; therefore, feel free to skip any turns I may have otherwise had.

The bell pivoted mid air, observing the scythe's flight in surprise. Was it timid? shy? Already it had disappeared into the puddle without a trace of having been here. Arturo flapped his wings too slowly for believable flight, luckily not actually needing them to remain airborne.
Maybe Abeo was less confused. He faced her. The hissing sound he made sounded more like a normal voiced sound than a chime. The quality was almost raspy. It was certainly far less adorable than his high pitched, melodic, nearly heavenly tone. It far better fit that expected from a snake. "Ssshame..." Arturo lamented, but his attention already was beginning to drift away from the weapon which had vanished.
Out of sight out of mind. He flew in a large, fast loop, around Abeo, already taking interest in something new.
