Following a hair thin stream of dark sluggish liquid, through a gap among rocks, too small for a pacifier, beyond a burning pillar with a flame hotter than any earth fire, through a curtain of briar, which caused him to tire, Dark wings beat guiding a minor copper sphere. When he realized his discovery he was quite amazed. Secret area found! How cool was that. Granted most areas were secret and new to Arturo. The bell had not done much exploring since his recent awakening. For all he knew this place was not so secret, and not so rare, but for him it was a first time to see. It was sinisterly beautiful, crystalline, multicolored. It reflected and fractured his simple appearance like a warped kind of mirror.
Arturo looked, Looked very closely before becoming aware of a low hostile growling sound.
The reflection saved him, giving him enough warning to see behind himself and get out of the way of the furious demon who's dwelling he had unwittingly invaded. It didn't have 'breath' so he had not noticed it. His next move was less lucky. A hit, and Arturo was knocked to the floor, dented for certain. Arturo was lucky that he couldn't feel pain in any way. No bell actually could

This was a strange place, for certain! Interesting, but strange. He sure hadn't seen anything like it before.
Ember eyes stared at the fractured surface of the cave's walls, plump orange body scampering its way through the odd darkness that almost seemed to be glowing. He glanced over at a column of fire shooting straight up into the air, the woodland jumping mouse making his way closer until he could not stand the heat.
For a while he stared at the flames, seeming entranced by them, until he heard a growl echo through the caverns.
Hopping around, he watched as a bat was tossed to the ground by a giant beast. The mouse's bright fur prickled, dark ears pinning to his head, though a smile began to crease his lips.
"Hey, ugly!" he shouted. "Think fast!"
In an instant, the mouse vanished out of sight, a boom sounding off in the cave as he rushed off through the barrier of sound. In a blink, the demon's head snapped back, flashes like small explosions bursting around its face, before the small mouse flickered back into view, dropping down next to the fallen bat.
It sure didn't look like a fighter...or any bat that he knew of.
"Howdy there!" the mouse said with a grin, poking the round-bodied bat, before his gaze went back to where he'd left the demon with what was probably only a minor headache. His tail flicked, muscles tensing, waiting for the massive beast to make its next move.

Sound caused the devil-bell's wings to slightly flutter, but he didn't move otherwise. It wasn't until the unusual mouse came close enough for the bell to sense his life that Arturo began to peel himself from the floor of the cave. The movement was very un-bat-like, more akin to a scrap of parchment caught up in a breeze. The bell's wings didn't seem entirely used for flight as he fluttered about, for the flaps were too slow to provide realistic lift, yet somehow the bell hovered just above the ground. It turned about with a weak musical chiming of thanks, with pleasure at having been helped by even a mouse.
The massive demon recovered quickly, soon targeting the annoyance which had struck at him before. A large hand attached to one of four muscular forelimbs, slammed down, aiming to crush the pair under the weight and force of the blow like the bugs they looked like to it.
This time able to see the threat coming, Arturo skidded out of the way, bouncing on the cave floor with periodic harsh metallic jingles.

The mouse's ears rung at the sound of a bell. It was the oddest-looking, acting, and sounding bat he'd ever seen, that was for sure!
Eyes still on the monstrous beast, the mouse was quick to hop out of the way from the recovering beast, bouncing straight up into the air. He was liking this place more and more!
"What a warm welcome!" the mouse said with a grin; as he spoke, his tail flicked and his leg kicked out, forcing his body to turn in the air.
When his head was angled down, fists and feet readying themselves, a heated flash occurred to one side of him, and the tiny mammal was shot down towards the big monster's head, aiming to knock his opponent's face into the stony floor of the cave. The force given to the back of the demon's head would be only the slightest bit more stronger than that of its first attack.

Well that mouse could fight! Arturo did not really know how the mouse was doing it.
The demon's ugly head was pushed down towards the flow, but the massive creature caught itself before it fell to the ground, supporting it's body on four out of six limbs. It's attention turned to the offender, swiping at the airborne rodent with two of it's heavy hands trying to grab the mouse in its fists.
If it caught the thing, then the irritation from the powerhouse mouse would surely be over.

"Wuh-oh!" The mouse gave a squeak as he began to bounce off the head of the big beast, hands closing in around him as he once more soared into the air.
As the palms seemed bent on crushing him, an explosion of energy would swiftly arise. Just before any fingers could wrap around him, the mouse, who at that moment may have appeared to be on fire himself, slipped through the cracks between them, fire flaring outwards in all directions as he shot like a rocket for the beast's head, whose face was likely upturned at that moment to be staring at the mouse; were that so, the mouse would attempt to hit him right between the eyes, tail flicking away in a blur of tiny bursting explosions in order to redirect him thusly.

Fire. Not exactly uncommon in this hellish place. The heat of some locations could reach extremes, yet still the sudden burst of hot energy ensured the rodent's escape from the oversized hands.
The consistent aiming at his face was utterly annoying. even dimwitted, the demon was growing to expect such after what had occurred so far. He'd braced himself this time, muscles in his neck visibly tensing, so that his head was not thrown towards some mirrored wall or floor.
The explosions though, that was a problem. Light and heat was painful to the eyes when so near his face. It made the damn rodent difficult to track.
it shook its head to clear the irritating flashes away, and tried to locate the rodent once more

With his offensive turn complete, the mouse kicked himself away from the face and landed several meters away, arms up as he spun about with flair. He watched as the strange beast whirled around, eyes squinting as its head swung searchingly about.
Instead of taking the opportunity to escape, like any decent mouse should have done, or hitting the monster while it could hardly see, like a two-bit thief might have, the bright orange mouse instead stood still upon the cave floor, tail flicking a brief column of fire into the air to get his foe's attention. "Cool cave!" he called, grinning. His ears twitched, listening to the faint echo of his small voice.
The bat he happened to have saved seemed to have been completely forgotten by that point.

The bat was not making noise, nor was it hitting him like the rodent had been. The light from the rodent's flames glinted annoyingly of the copper surface of the bell and many of the other reflective surfaces in the cave, but it was brightest where the source stood.
The pillar of flame easily drew the demon's attention from the other things. Finally. There was the critter who'd invaded. The Bulky demon snapped a stalagmite from the ground, sweeping the wide end across the ground in a broad attempt to knock the rodent off his feet.
the bell got clunked by the sweeping blow, and ended up rolling towards a shadowed portion of the cave.

Psh. Don't his opponent learn anythin'?
The mouse watched with wide, awe-inspired eyes as the beast tore a stalagmite right from the cave floor, only to scoff as it was swept across the ground in his direction. The mouse leapt upwards, arms crossed as he dodged the attack with ease.
He heard a clink and a ring behind him, but would first sweep his own tail around in the air, tossing a wave of fire in the direction of his foe's face, before shooting a quick glance over his shoulder, ears perked as he peered into the darkness. The sound was familiar, but the memory seemed distant to him now.
As his body began to drop back down thanks to that most fiendish of fiends, gravity, the mouse wondered if perhaps he should change up his tactics up too -- he could be making the monster bored himself, going after its face all the time!

Well, the mouse jumped, threw fire at him too. The demon lowered his head slightly, and bellowed.
The sound wave filled the cave, creating an air-pressure wave which was quite a bit more solid than normal sound might be. It was a wave heavy enough to push the bell a ways, towards the exit, and even effect the flames, though the air was not moving in the same way as a wind would.

Well, the mouse was no lightweight. ...Except that he was. Being less than an ounce, he was probably lighter even than the bat.
The mouse could only blink in confusion as the roar hit him like a solid wall and pushed him back, his nose practically bashed inwards as he was looking right at the monster when it threw such an odd sound wave at him. It stunned the mouse, the same as banging one's head hard against a door would, and for a few moments he couldn't even force an explosion to shove him back towards his target; even more than that, the fire he was casting instantly stopped growing once his focus had been broken, fizzling away in the air.
Instead, he was flung towards the cave's exit, same as the bat, perhaps even faster than the bat, flying past it and straight through the exit in the blink of an eye. Then it was over, the mouse dropping to the ground like a dead stone, which only further stunned and disoriented him.
After a few seconds of trying to catch his breath, the mouse struggled to his feet, head whirling as he tried to find his foe and gather his thoughts. Maybe he should just cut his losses and admit that he was bested...after all, he wasn't even in the arena anymore! In fact, this didn't even look like the way he'd come in!
His eyes were dazed by the sight of a stream of black water trickling past him, and columns of fire rising out the corner of his wobbly vision. He shook his head and pulled at his ears, carefully touching his sore nose while he pushed himself away from the thorny branches of some briar bushes. There was a spot of blood there.
He wasn't entirely sure just what had happened, but he was sure of this: he was darn lost now!

Finally the intrusion was gone. Good. Now he could get some rest. As the demon turned back towards the depths of his dwelling, spiny crystals possessing an ill aura grew up around the entrance to the cave, sealing it off from reentry by this side. It might not deter some of the more determined intruders, but it should keep out the small ones, hopefully. By the time is was grown, the thorough covering reached easily from the cave floor to the upper lip of the entrance tunnel. There were not any gaps through which even a mouse could fit.
A high pitched chime rang out from the bell who had also been blown from the cave with the pressurized sound. With uneven wingbeats, the bell flipped itself upright, lazily hovering right above the ground. He oriented himselfto face the cave for a moment. Aww well, it seemed the pretty place was closed now. He couldn't see any way back in through all the spikes.
Oh well, better not try. The copper bell could tell he was a bit off balance. There was probably a nice concave dent somewhere on his spherical form. He was not able to see it on his own without a mirror.
He was a bit weary too. There was only one cure for that.
The bell drifted towards the rodent, looking almost as though it were paddling through air rather than flying properl. Maybe he could help it, and then ot wouod be helping him just by being in nearby proximity until he found other beings, who might tolerate the presence of the small copper bell.

Ears rose at the sound of slow flapping, the mouse turning his head around to watch as the strange bat came closer, looking as though it were swimming through the air. The mouse scratched his head, continually perplexed by the display, but nonetheless offered a friendly smile towards the creature.
He blinked, for as it drew close, he could see his reflection in its shiny copper sphere of a body. Stranger and stranger.
"Howdy," he said, offering an outstretched paw to the floating bat. His head tilted, one side of his lips quirking up in a smirk as he added teasingly, "Would you like to fight too?"
Eyes drew themselves over the bat, noting a sizeable dent on one side of it. Had that been there before?

The bell turned into a speedy copper comet as it suddenly zipped around, attempting to gently butt the mouse over from a different angle. The bell was much faster than the previous demon when it wanted to be. After this it quickly fliped itself upside down, and slowly turned itself upright to face the rodent. It let out a creeping wisper Which in no way resembled the high pitched melodic sounds it had been making before. "Sssthankssss." It was grateful to have been rescued after all.
