She moved quietly, luminous four eyes glowing. Two placed where they would be on a human; one on her forehead; the fourth at the base of her neck. At 6'3, she was a sight to behold. A gray pantsuit; hair so light blonde it was almost white, four violet eyes and matching runic, swirling tattoos. She was a hybrid, a freak. The world had never seen anything like her before--not two different species, but three. Adelaide paused, and inhaled. A scent--no, many scents, all tangled together. Different sexes and different species. Was it here? She paused and waited patiently, lingering just on the edge.

she wasn't expecting to see someone this....big. it was surprising, and she felt small next to them. insignificant. after all, she had taken the form of a vampiric coyote with wings, but still. "hey, welcome to the tribe. what can we do for you? and could i ask your name?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her gaze. this wasn't the first time that someone had come to the border and just stood there.

At the sight of the newcomer, some of the tattoos on Adelaide's hands shot back up in her sleeves and settled on her neck (that had happened before, although she wasn't sure what it meant. Interest, perhaps?). "I'm Adelaide." Her voice had a bit of an unidentifiable accent to it. "Is this the Tribe of Ancient Stones? I wish to join it." She paused for a moment to let it register. It wasn't polite to dump all of what you had to say all once. "And may I ask your name as well?"

"Is that so yotsu-me." The tone of the speaker's voice was blunt, slightly nazal and in the usually feminine vocal range. The girl who approached was probably far more average looking than the potential new joiner, with orange-blond hair and orangish eyes, and no tatoos or other weird markings. Her clothing was brightly colored, a teal jacket, a white shirt that showed her stomach, and capree style denim pants. The large whitish ferret which rode on her shoulder was probably odder just by being oversized. "If you're set on joining you beter make yourself useful." She noted, speaking as if she had some athority in this place and the new person was on one of the lower rungs of the ladder. "If you dont find a niche here quickly you wont last very long." Shika of course wasn't going to bother with petty introductions. The newer people didn't need to know her name. They hadn't impressed her enough to give her reason to give it.
(yotsu-me = four eyes.)

ev glanced at shika upon her arrival, and narrowed her eyes. she supposed it was just the way the other spoke, but ev found it rather rude. ah well. she couldn't try to control the other, so she would just respond to the joiner. "we're glad to have you, adalaide! my name's evergreen. but you can call me ev if you'd like." she said, her eyes straying back to their newest member. "if you need anything, just let me know, alright?"

Adelaide paid no attention to the newcomer. She did not have any doubts about if she would be accepted in the Tribe's society. Instead, she smiled at Evergreen. "Thank you," she replied.

considering the tribe way of life, which the moody types like shika, tsubomi and kim were used to, yes it did matter that shika was being ignored. shika wanted to just transform into her normal form, which was far too big to be ignored easily, but she didn't, yet. "you'll have to find your own way around yotsu-me." shika noted, in a mocking tone. "this other girl's a newbie too, so not gonna be able to keep you in line." If they both found shika rude, they'd have to deal with it, for shika tended to be like this to everyone even some of the old tribe mates. the only way she would be kinder was if they somehow convinced her that they were worth shika's time and attention.

Adelaide leaned back on her heels, considering Shika for the first time. The hybrid seemed...amused. "I think I like you," she noted, gazing down at her. It wasn't a deception, although Adelaide was not unfamiliar with the concept.

shika crossed her arms and cocked her head with her own sort of look of superiority on her features. "that so?" she asked rhetorically. she need not know for real if the other liked her or not, not yet, for that was an issue for later to approach. "If you keep up, you can get to our camp following me." shika huffed, now transforming from her humanoid form, into a large furry beast, with long hair like a long hair'd cat, a body more like a ferret's the coloring of a strawberry tiger, wings like a dragonfly, and a set of large crystalline antlers crowning her head. in this shape she was about twenty feet tall when she stood at her tallest. she took this form only because she could travel faster this way, but no way was she going to give either of the new tribe mates a ride.

Adelaide raised an eyebrow at Shika's transformation. Fascinating. "I'll keep up," she promised, violet eyes glimmering. She wouldn't expect to be given a ride, nor would she want one. It...unsettled her, to say the least, to ride a sentient being.

Shika wouldn't treat it like a race. she simply began to bound over the land at an impressive pace. it was definitely faster than a human could run. faster than a horse too. shika's pace was such that she could probably keep up with a car on the highway. thus she didn't even look to see if she was being followed. depending on how well this was the case, shika intended to further complicate matters and so test the newbie

Adelaide did not have a human drop of blood in her body. She could run faster than any one of them could achieve--even only in theory. By her reckoning, Shika was running at about 105 kilometres per hour. Adelaide had never tested the limit, but she had once achieved a speed of 80 kilometres per hour. Taking a deep breath, Adelaide loped after Shika, eyes burning bright. It was one of the few pleasures that she had no control over--the thrill of the chase, hunt, race, or even a simple run.

Shika glanced behind her out of the corner of her eye. Impressively the new stranger was doing well at keeping up, though not at shika's pace yet shika could see that Adelaide was running faster than a human ought to be able. of course shika had not thought she was human in the first place, only that she looked like one at the moment. time to up the challenge further. Shika went from running to bounding, to flying. If Adelaide could not keep up, shika would be soon out of sight.

Unfortunately for Adelaide, no. Shika could run faster that her, definitely faster. There was no way she could keep up. That didn't mean Adelaide would stop running, though. Keeping the yellow beast in her line of sight, she forced herself to go a little faster. If she lost Shika, then Adelaide could probably ask another member of the Tribe for directions, but would most likely not gain even a scrap of Shika's respect.

Fortunatly the path to the tribe's actual camp would become visible before shika was lost to sight. the tall spires of persian style loomed over the flatness of the wasteland and could be seen over the horizon. should Adelaide loose sight of shika, she could find shika again when arriving here. still in her large quadrupedal form, shika acted as though she had not been running at all, lying in front of the way like some sort of regal cat, watching as the hybrid came.
