APPEARANCE:
Tsubomi was born your average cat with light gray fur and olive-green eyes. When using at least one of her powers, her eyes tend to glow crimson as the powers were originally granted by the red-eyed. foreign spirit inside her in the first place. Not much is to be argued against her being an everyday domestic feline, save for the wolf tail replacing her original feline one. Nothing stands out as incredible about her appearance, as one might tell, except for that lupine tail. However, this is not Kido's only form. While it remains true it is her birth and favored form, other things in the works make it so Tsubomi is not always able to maintain her preferred shape.
Due to her unwilling shapeshifting, another form of Tsubomi's is that of a male tanuki, or raccoon dog. Unlike most tanukis, though, she has more gray-colored fur and dark patches instead of the light chestnut color that most would consider 'natural' for these non-raccoon-non-badger animals. It is unusual that she is male in this form, and thus it is one of the reasons she despises being in it. However, her shape still seems ambiguous and she could easily be mistaken for female or simply genderneutral, as her voice is on a pattern which makes it neither too high nor too low.
But her most despised form is technically not her's. Thanks to the red-eyed and obsidian-colored serpent dwelling inside of her, it has its own form which it painfully turns Tsubomi into from time to time, usually before full possession. This body is that of a larger domestic feline, roughly the size of a savannah cat or larger, but has pitch-black fur. It also keeps the red eyes Tsubomi has when using her powers and has two snake-like fangs instead of average canine teeth. The most unique things about this new feline, though, are the large bat-like wings it can use to fly and the patches of black scales coating her longer serpentine tail and her legs. All in all, the form is that of a demon, which goes to show why anyone would dislike it.
PERSONALITY:
Kido is a very unique kitty who has changed drastically over time. She went from being a timid, shy, and quiet kitten and grew up to be a very tsundere, mature, slightly sadistic, arrogant, yet cute adolescent. The term "tsun" means cold, blunt, and curt while "dere" means cute, gentle, secretly lovable, and so on. This is very much true for Tsubomi who is known for her "death-glare-like gaze" and "creepy smile". However, inside she is very sensitive, graceful, and yearns for acceptance.
She is also known to have a softer side, especially when around close friends and family. While she never lets anyone get too close to her and has a hard time making friends, Tsubomi is quietly fairly amiable and motherly. She secretly loves cute things and dearly loves and misses her former tribe. Tsubomi is best depicted In-Character, as just some words on a biography do not even meet who she is halfway. She has been developed and played for over a year and has a continuing story.
HISTORY:
Tsubomi was born to a ShadowClan father, Dullnirvana, and BloodClan mother, Alchemy. However, upon leaving with her family for her father's clan, the forest caught fire. Dullnirvana, Heatdaze, and Kirika all escaped but left her trapped with her older sister Wingstock. Dying in the fire along with her sister, the two were pulled into an unknown hellish dimension now referred to as the Heat Haze. While there, Wingstock showed Tsubomi the way to escape but had to remain in the Haze herself. Sadly saying goodbye, she mentioned to leave the dimension, but upon exiting, was confronted by one of the demon snakes of the place known as the Snake of Concealing Eyes. The snake possessed her, giving Tsubomi the ability to return to the real world, but only with having the snake almost literally 'tying' her to her body and to reality.
Waking up in the now ashen forest, the kitten found it impossible to remember anything that had happened the night before, but noticed that Wingstock had vanished. Unable to keep conscious for some mysterious reason and incredible nausea and heat streaking her eyes, a fainted Tsubomi was found by Cierva, the leader of BreezeClan. The she-cat adopted the small blue kitten alongside two others who she had found not too long before then, Kano and Ayano.
It wasn't long before Tsubomi noticed a strange power manifesting whenever she felt that heat in her eyes and the color glowing red. Against her will, she would turn invisible on and off. Not only that, but her entire presence seemed to erase itself including her scent, the sight of her, hearing her, and sometimes even remembering her. She wasn't the only one, as Kano seemed to have picked up shapeshifting and illusions when his eyes went red, having gained the ability to "deceive" the eyes while she could "conceal" the eyes. Ayano soon learned that the reason Cierva had picked them up was due to a force inside her attempting to use those who had come into contact with the Heat Haze. Not being able to bear it, Ayano supposedly commit suicide to gain access to the Heat Haze and telling Kano to run away and find Tsubomi, as she had already run away after none of her clanmates could recognize her any longer.
Running from the moorlands into the mountains, Tsubomi came across the Tribe of Many Storms led by Citadark. They welcomed her into their group and Jester, a tiger, picked up her training, eventually teaching her how to control it better and with practice. Soon, however, Jester was exiled and Citadark died, leaving Mary, a healer, in charge who renamed the tribe the Empire of Sartaq. Kido later became accustomed to the changes and befriended Jester's son Trojan. The two were close and worked together to be promoted to high positions. Later Trojan was promoted to deputy while they befriended Kim, a shy tanuki, Cempa, a Spanish cougar, Kano, who found Tsubomi, Ayano, who had managed to return from the Haze, and Shika, an antlered tiger. It wasn't long before Trojan was further promoted to leader and in turn, promoted Tsubomi as his deputy, Kim as a healer, and took Cempa to be his mate.
Things quickly went awry when two malevolent spirits, Matanca and Tomb, possessed the tribe leaders Mary and Trojan. Not only that, but the Snake of Concealing Eyes, nicknamed Connie, gained consciousness and awareness and constantly took full possession of Tsubomi on and off (Oneshot #1). Unhappy with the violent changes the two made, the demotions, the move from the mountains to the jungle, the name change to Tribe of Ancient Stones, Cempa's death by Tomb, and everything else going on, Tsubomi managed to kill Tomb and bring back Trojan. Once again things were slightly peaceful, and Matanca took on Mary's identity and seemed to settle a little. But once again tragedy struck when Trojan went missing and left Tsubomi to succeed his position as leader.
Tsubomi was leading well alongside Mary/Matanca, who she had established a small friendship with, and led through a war with the Tribe of Burning Eclipse. Just as things were getting good, however, Connie/Snake of Concealing Eyes painfully twisted Kido's body into that of a large demonic, scaled, winged feline and took full possession in it (Oneshot #2). She was forced to remain like this for some time until Connie ran out of energy to support the powerful body and at Kim's request on petty vengeance, turned Tsubomi into a male tanuki. Kim and Tsubomi were both Tsundere rivals, always competing and blackmailing one another, but still in an odd close friendship and love. Soon it escalated to a one-night-stand while Kido was in tanuki form.
Soon things settled down and went back to normal, despite Tsubomi still being trapped as a tanuki. But memories of Trojan, her best friend, soon came to haunt her. He could still be out there somewhere- she knew it. Deciding to take a few days to search for the white tiger, Kido ventured from the jungle back to the mountains where the the tribe used to live. Upon the way, however, she began getting weaker and weaker and finally returned to her domestic cat form. Things weren't all what they seemed, though, as she approached the mountains once again they were attacked by an angry spirit called Minako. The spirit was a close protector of Kim and saw a vision of a death caused by Connie in the future. Having no grudge against Tsubomi, Minako attacked the black serpent in hopes of freeing Tsubomi and Kim from a rotten future (Oneshoft #3).
Little did she know that the removal of a Heat Haze snake from their surrogate results in both spirits being pulled back into that hellish dimension.
