| DETAILED PERSONALITY
Kellan is sometimes pretty quiet since he doesn't enjoy formulating phrases in an informal setting. If it comes easily to him, though, e.g. if he enjoys the company of his interlocuter, he seems markedly more extroverted and is more apt to divulge sensitive information. However, he's easily flustered; the poor thing's emotions often bleed over into the physical "interpretation" of his writing, and this is evident to anyone who is perceptive enough or has simply stayed in close proximity to him for long periods, so he is kind of forced to wear his heart on his sleeve if he wants to survive. Thus, he dislikes loud noises, as they raise his heartbeat unduly due to his strange relationship with the fight or flight reflex. Basically, he has a subliminal dislike of obstreperous dispositions because he's constantly feeling afraid and in danger, which sometimes leads him to deplete his energy with a summoning due to a false alarm and in general isn't good for his emotional health. He's super gentle and benign, though ... when the scenario calls for it. There is a dichotomy between the moral, cordial, shy, polite Kelly and the alert, diligent being that puts aside morality momentarily so that he can dispatch threats to himself and others. He isn't as easily manipulated as one would think just from analyzing his social behavior. He's much more content with physical comfort than verbal, as tangibility is reassuring to him; otherwise, he sometimes can't be entirely certain that what he's perceiving is real, so he won't be altogether receptive. And, he's very likely to look up to others and has a propensity not to outright say it when he would prefer to be alone, which means that he sometimes has a lot of pent up insecurities exacerbated by being in the vicinity of people who he feels are his superiors. Kellan's a tiny bit oblivious to romantic advances, excepting—of course—when they're made obvious. What this means is that he tends to take innuendos and suspicious expressions at face value, but isn't so obstinate in his incredulity that he would misconstrue flat-out pickup lines or clearer body language.
Kellan actually enjoys writing, but is unfortunately unable to do so outside of combat situations. He thus turns to drawing! He cannot, however, easily label his art on paper or clarify certain things because that occasionally animates them. It's not currently very helpful in scenarios where he has to think and act fast because he is very meticulous when it comes to drawing; doodles don't have the same effect, even when labeled. He also doesn't need a particular notebook to activate his ability and, in fact, doesn't need paper at all. He can write on his skin or use a tattoo in a pinch (though the same word does not always mean the same object). His reflexes are useful in battling situations, however, as at the first sign of attack he's usually fairly alert. He considers himself more of a support role due to his unpredictability but is actually very capable as an offensive ability user. Though, Kellan does have a mild phobia of any black-eyed animals, such as certain rabbits, seals, mice, owls, etc. They remind him of his first, inadvertent summoning. It was volatile and took too long to dissipate and as he dreamt about those dark voids he could have sworn he felt death approaching, like a panther circling its prey.

They very rarely, however, actually work in a predictable way when he wants to summon or procure a specific entity or item. For example, he might be able to inadvertently summon a hellhound by jotting down quick thoughts about his trepidation concerning proximity to fire, but would not be able to summon that fire.
However, if he summons an entity with autonomy, it "borrows" his own life force, so he is very easily enervated for the duration of its existence. If he faints or goes into a trance, it is difficult to restore consciousness even when the entity burns out and returns its energy to him; thankfully, it doesn't have many long-term effects excepting those that might occur if nobody is around to catch him [  ) ]. He does, however, get dreams/nightmares in the trance state; generally, they are pertinent to the being that caused the state.
