A.R. GUIDEBOOK FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WAIT, BIOGRAPHIES ARE OPTIONAL? That is correct! You do not need to wait for your bio/app to be approved by a staff member if you post one up. Naturally, character sheets are encouraged, but are not required on this site. WHAT, NO MINIMUM WORDCOUNT? Nope! This site accepts all kinds of roleplayers, from beginners to veterans. You are welcome to set a wordcount or roleplay level(semi-advanced, advanced, etc.) for your own threads, or even a simple rule like 'no oneliners, please'. If you ever encounter any problems, or have a question, please notify a staff member! MUST WE USE AN ACCOUNT PER CHARACTER, OR USE ONE ACCOUNT ONLY? Both styles are welcome here. Some members have an account for each character they use, others keep everything on one main account. in the end it's really up to you. CAN I CREATE A GROUP/SOCIETY? Yes, you may! Anyone can create a group, be it an original land with its own unique mechanics, or a village, town, guild, kingdom, etc. Want to make a warrior cat clan? Go right on ahead. A Fairy Tail guild? Go for it. If you want your group to eventually get a usergroup and a board, just keep it active- staff rewards active groups and members. CAN I CREATE A RACE/SPECIES? Of course! You may create your own or create one based off the logic of some lore or fandom you enjoy, and introduce your own mechanics for such things. The angel or vampire you play might not be the same as the next person's angel or vampire, but you may sort out the things that make your 'style', 'lore', or 'type' of creature unique. This is encouraged, actually! WHERE IS THE FACECLAIM LIST? Currently, Abstract Reality has no list to claim characters from movies, tv shows, video games, and anime to base your appearance off of. You are welcome to use faceclaims, but we have no place for you to officially claim them- thus, staff will not track down and ask someone to change their 'faceclaim' if they happen to be using the same images or character as you. Unless, of course, it is original art done by the user. However, if we get enough PMs about members wanting an official faceclaim list, it might be considered. For now, however, if you find someone using your 'faceclaim', you may politely ask them not to; but they are under no obligation to comply if they do not wish. CAN I PLAY A CANON CHARACTER? Technically, yes! However, just like with our policy on faceclaims, we are not going to track down and stop anyone who might also wish to use that play-by, or canon character. Thus, do so at your own risk. But if you absolutely want to play Goku, Ichigo, Luke Skywalker, Harry Potter, and Firestar, by all means go ahead, but we do encourage the preference of Original Characters. CAN I BRING IN A FANDOM TO MY PLOT? Is your character perhaps an OC in a fandom such as an anime, book, or movie? Yes, you may bring them in and incorporate the canon lore as well! You simply have to be creative about this process. The world we use for roleplay on this site is, well, abstract. It's left ambiguous so members can really make anything possible, as it has loose logic. This site and the world and lore are building blocks for you to use, after all, so go nuts with your fandoms or original plots! We only ask that you do not impose or force such lore on anyone who is unwilling. Luckily, members can make rules for their own threads, so this should not be a problem. IS A.R. MODERN FANTASY OR MEDIEVAL/HIGH FANTASY? In a way, both! It really is up to you, your character, and the setting you want to make your thread in. The group, Sanctuary, is very much modern fantasy, seemingly like a normal earth, or perhaps even with a bit of steampunk or sci-fi if you absolutely wish. Even civilizations created by dragons can be normal, like human-made cities, if one wishes. It ultimately is up to a roleplayer and what they want to describe in their thread or lore. CAN I PLAY A LEADERSHIP/HIGH POSITION IN A GROUP? If it's a group you made yourself, definitely. If it's a cannon group, check to see if the spots are filled yet, and then Sign up for the role you'd like to play. Staff will review your application and decide if we think your character is a good fit for the spot. BUT I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION! One that was not answered here? By all means, please PM me or a staff member! We will try to get back to you as quickly as possible; and don't worry- we do not bite.

NECROPOLIS GUIDE & INFORMATION INTRODUCTION Not even existing in the physical realm, but on an astral plane, Necropolis stands tall and strong, posing a hidden threat to all who wish to live peacefully. This land is the true ruler of all hells merged together, as it is known as the kingdom and capital of all those shady evil ones. Demons, Cerberus, Fallen Angels, Hydras, and Evil and Monstrous Spirits all flock to this place, in a constant struggle for power. Unless a mortal has astral or spiritual powers, they cannot reach the city of darkness that is Necropolis, except in their nightmares. Tread here at your own risk. DOMAIN Imagine constant dark skies of either a red or purple shade, and streets of stone literally lit with darkness. Necropolis has it all- the most modern and technologically advanced cities, and the most ancient of hand-built castles and kingdoms, but all of it seen in a literal dark light. Thus is the permanent dwelling of the creatures and shadows of the night, who seek to terrorize the world and sink it into an eternal shadow. This place, Necropolis, reflects their ideal. Only the strongest may thrive here, and the weak will be shattered. THE DARK CITY The main city, connected to all dark dimensions via gateways and rifts. It is the primary authority of the entire plane, presenting itself as a sprawling megametropolis, covering a distance vast enough to be seemingly inconceivable on the mortal plane. It is here that the centers of activity buzz, and the Lords of Darkness meet in relative armistice to further their dark agendas. THE WILDERNESS (Name pending cause lel). Not all beings wish to adapt to the lifestyle of The Dark City. Instead, they may take up residence outside of its borders. The size of the wilderness dwarfs even that of the Dark City, starting from the gates and spreading in all directions as far as the eye can see. THE CHAOS The vast infinity beyond the plane of the Dark City. Here lie the gateways to the countless underworlds and other dark-aligned realms that exist in the universe of ruin. The Chaos meets at the gates of the Dark City, where all hells meet. HISTORY The gold queen sat upon a patella throne. The rotting 1 defiled it, and Magog cleaned up the mess HIERARCHY The top dogs of Necropolis are, obviously, the ones who have proven themselves to be the strongest. They are treated like royalty, and even may have a court that reflects just that. All of the weaker ones submit to their will, usually, or have ambitions to perhaps one day exceed them. No creatures here are bound by any ties of loyalty- only power.

THE SANCTUARY GUIDE & INFORMATION INTRODUCTION Sanctuary is the name of a massive group located on a gargantuan continent that appears to be just like earth. Everyone on this continent is sheltered from the knowledge and existence of magic and anything deemed unnatural- or even supernatural. The humans of Sanctuary have advanced technology to keep magic out, and to erase the minds of those who perhaps have witnessed something mystical or mythical. They are rigid in their rules, and hunt and persecute those who wield powers or are not exactly human. To most of the people of Sanctuary, however, everyday life is normal, and what we might call average and peaceful. DOMAIN Legend has it that the world is fifty times the size of earth, so that must mean that the continents that exist can be rather large, yes? The dominion of Sanctuary is likely much larger than what we know here as Africa, but is blanketed in completely fertile and beautiful land. Many giant cities dot the landscape, built with advanced technology that can puzzle the minds of most. The massive continent is completely surrounded by brutal, raging waters, and nobody is allowed to leave... not that they would want to. Overall, Sanctuary seems peaceful, and many who live here do not even wonder what is beyond the Sanctuary; after all, everybody is taught that it is the only continent to exist. Magic and the supernatural are fantasies that people see in movies and video games. Nothing changes, and the authorities work to keep it that way. -- Capital CityMost threads, if in a city setting, will by default be assumed to be taking place in the Capital City of Sanctuary. This city is massive, much larger than New York City, and is where a majority of the population dwells. The Sanctuary Authorities also make their base here. The newer, more advanced, technologies can be found here, as well as various instances of problems with supernatural run-ins. It is truly the city of action, where things are never boring. HISTORY WIP AUTHORITIES: The rulers or protectors, so to say, of Sanctuary are aware of the existence of the unnatural, and while it is alien to them, they work hard to keep knowledge of it away from the public. Should any problems arise within the borders of Sanctuary, they are there to put an end to the disturbance and brainwash any witnesses, in order to keep the status quo. These are stubborn humans with strong ideals, and they do not let anything non-human enter their ranks or linger within the watery borders of Sanctuary. They are constantly on the hunt, and will not rest until all things that cannot be explained by science are gone. TRIBE OF ANCIENT STONES GUIDE & INFORMATION INTRODUCTION The Tribe of Ancient Stones is a unique group that contains natural creatures, humans and animals, and mythical creatures. They generally are represented as true neutrals, and do not provoke anybody unless provoked first- in which they retaliate tenfold- or are simply bored. The Tribe does what they want, and do not allow anybody to get in their way. At the very least, however, they are a peaceful group for the most part, accepting almost anyone who does not pose a threat into their ranks. They are close-knit and loyal, and aim to simply survive and thrive, as their group grows larger. DOMAIN The Tribe of Ancient Stones often wanders, but their main base of operations is a giant, magical, Persian-style palace of sorts. This palace is an Oasis in the middle of a dry wasteland. The wasteland acts as protection, as most would not dare venture out into it, while the Palace remains as mystical and mysterious as ever. Within the palace, there are 'portals' that assist with transportation to other physical realms, continents, and areas. NAME: Tsubomi Sartaq
GENDER: Female
AGE: In Animal Years: 17 In Literal Years: 3
RACE / SPECIES: Unknown Mythical - Appears mostly as either a cat, human, or a mammalian dragon.
ABILITIES: Invisibility Heat Detection Enhanced Senses Shapeshifting Scent-Shifting Audiokinesis
APPEARANCE: Tsubomi was born your average cat with light gray fur and olive-green eyes. When using at least one of her powers, her eyes tend to glow crimson as the powers were originally granted by the red-eyed. foreign spirit inside her in the first place. Not much is to be argued against her being an everyday domestic feline, save for the wolf tail replacing her original feline one. Nothing stands out as incredible about her appearance, as one might tell, except for that lupine tail. However, this is not Kido's only form. While it remains true it is her birth and favored form, other things in the works make it so Tsubomi is not always able to maintain her preferred shape.
Due to her unwilling shapeshifting, another form of Tsubomi's is that of a male tanuki, or raccoon dog. Unlike most tanukis, though, she has more gray-colored fur and dark patches instead of the light chestnut color that most would consider 'natural' for these non-raccoon-non-badger animals. It is unusual that she is male in this form, and thus it is one of the reasons she despises being in it. However, her shape still seems ambiguous and she could easily be mistaken for female or simply genderneutral, as her voice is on a pattern which makes it neither too high nor too low.
But her most despised form is technically not her's. Thanks to the red-eyed and obsidian-colored serpent dwelling inside of her, it has its own form which it painfully turns Tsubomi into from time to time, usually before full possession. This body is that of a larger domestic feline, roughly the size of a savannah cat or larger, but has pitch-black fur. It also keeps the red eyes Tsubomi has when using her powers and has two snake-like fangs instead of average canine teeth. The most unique things about this new feline, though, are the large bat-like wings it can use to fly and the patches of black scales coating her longer serpentine tail and her legs. All in all, the form is that of a demon, which goes to show why anyone would dislike it.
PERSONALITY: Kido is a very unique kitty who has changed drastically over time. She went from being a timid, shy, and quiet kitten and grew up to be a very tsundere, mature, slightly sadistic, arrogant, yet cute adolescent. The term "tsun" means cold, blunt, and curt while "dere" means cute, gentle, secretly lovable, and so on. This is very much true for Tsubomi who is known for her "death-glare-like gaze" and "creepy smile". However, inside she is very sensitive, graceful, and yearns for acceptance.
She is also known to have a softer side, especially when around close friends and family. While she never lets anyone get too close to her and has a hard time making friends, Tsubomi is quietly fairly amiable and motherly. She secretly loves cute things and dearly loves and misses her former tribe. Tsubomi is best depicted In-Character, as just some words on a biography do not even meet who she is halfway. She has been developed and played for over a year and has a continuing story.
HISTORY:
Tsubomi was born to a ShadowClan father, Dullnirvana, and BloodClan mother, Alchemy. However, upon leaving with her family for her father's clan, the forest caught fire. Dullnirvana, Heatdaze, and Kirika all escaped but left her trapped with her older sister Wingstock. Dying in the fire along with her sister, the two were pulled into an unknown hellish dimension now referred to as the Heat Haze. While there, Wingstock showed Tsubomi the way to escape but had to remain in the Haze herself. Sadly saying goodbye, she mentioned to leave the dimension, but upon exiting, was confronted by one of the demon snakes of the place known as the Snake of Concealing Eyes. The snake possessed her, giving Tsubomi the ability to return to the real world, but only with having the snake almost literally 'tying' her to her body and to reality.
Waking up in the now ashen forest, the kitten found it impossible to remember anything that had happened the night before, but noticed that Wingstock had vanished. Unable to keep conscious for some mysterious reason and incredible nausea and heat streaking her eyes, a fainted Tsubomi was found by Cierva, the leader of BreezeClan. The she-cat adopted the small blue kitten alongside two others who she had found not too long before then, Kano and Ayano.
It wasn't long before Tsubomi noticed a strange power manifesting whenever she felt that heat in her eyes and the color glowing red. Against her will, she would turn invisible on and off. Not only that, but her entire presence seemed to erase itself including her scent, the sight of her, hearing her, and sometimes even remembering her. She wasn't the only one, as Kano seemed to have picked up shapeshifting and illusions when his eyes went red, having gained the ability to "deceive" the eyes while she could "conceal" the eyes. Ayano soon learned that the reason Cierva had picked them up was due to a force inside her attempting to use those who had come into contact with the Heat Haze. Not being able to bear it, Ayano supposedly commit suicide to gain access to the Heat Haze and telling Kano to run away and find Tsubomi, as she had already run away after none of her clanmates could recognize her any longer.
Running from the moorlands into the mountains, Tsubomi came across the Tribe of Many Storms led by Citadark. They welcomed her into their group and Jester, a tiger, picked up her training, eventually teaching her how to control it better and with practice. Soon, however, Jester was exiled and Citadark died, leaving Mary, a healer, in charge who renamed the tribe the Empire of Sartaq. Kido later became accustomed to the changes and befriended Jester's son Trojan. The two were close and worked together to be promoted to high positions. Later Trojan was promoted to deputy while they befriended Kim, a shy tanuki, Cempa, a Spanish cougar, Kano, who found Tsubomi, Ayano, who had managed to return from the Haze, and Shika, an antlered tiger. It wasn't long before Trojan was further promoted to leader and in turn, promoted Tsubomi as his deputy, Kim as a healer, and took Cempa to be his mate.
Things quickly went awry when two malevolent spirits, Matanca and Tomb, possessed the tribe leaders Mary and Trojan. Not only that, but the Snake of Concealing Eyes, nicknamed Connie, gained consciousness and awareness and constantly took full possession of Tsubomi on and off (Oneshot #1). Unhappy with the violent changes the two made, the demotions, the move from the mountains to the jungle, the name change to Tribe of Ancient Stones, Cempa's death by Tomb, and everything else going on, Tsubomi managed to kill Tomb and bring back Trojan. Once again things were slightly peaceful, and Matanca took on Mary's identity and seemed to settle a little. But once again tragedy struck when Trojan went missing and left Tsubomi to succeed his position as leader.
Tsubomi was leading well alongside Mary/Matanca, who she had established a small friendship with, and led through a war with the Tribe of Burning Eclipse. Just as things were getting good, however, Connie/Snake of Concealing Eyes painfully twisted Kido's body into that of a large demonic, scaled, winged feline and took full possession in it (Oneshot #2). She was forced to remain like this for some time until Connie ran out of energy to support the powerful body and at Kim's request on petty vengeance, turned Tsubomi into a male tanuki. Kim and Tsubomi were both Tsundere rivals, always competing and blackmailing one another, but still in an odd close friendship and love. Soon it escalated to a one-night-stand while Kido was in tanuki form.
Soon things settled down and went back to normal, despite Tsubomi still being trapped as a tanuki. But memories of Trojan, her best friend, soon came to haunt her. He could still be out there somewhere- she knew it. Deciding to take a few days to search for the white tiger, Kido ventured from the jungle back to the mountains where the the tribe used to live. Upon the way, however, she began getting weaker and weaker and finally returned to her domestic cat form. Things weren't all what they seemed, though, as she approached the mountains once again they were attacked by an angry spirit called Minako. The spirit was a close protector of Kim and saw a vision of a death caused by Connie in the future. Having no grudge against Tsubomi, Minako attacked the black serpent in hopes of freeing Tsubomi and Kim from a rotten future (Oneshoft #3). Little did she know that the removal of a Heat Haze snake from their surrogate results in both spirits being pulled back into that hellish dimension. WIP

Abstract Realities is an original, multiverse, free roleplay all tied together with the base of a single and simple lore. Here, any plot is possible, and you may tie it into the main story as you please. THE LORE In the beginning, there was a world, a simple one that was so large, vast, and great, that there were few natural laws that could dare try to govern it. It is at least fifty times the size of earth, with grand continents and booming civilizations, both in its physical realm, where the mortals tread, and its unseen realm, where the spirits wander. One known continent is just like earth, where the humans either deny or are oblivious to the existence of magic and mythicals. On another known continent, there exists a sanctuary for mythicals alone, to live free and in peace. But everything in between? It all exists- societies that accept both humans and non-humans thrive together, great kingdoms where demons, angels, and gods struggle for domination, towns where wolves and other creatures lurk at night, tribes where dragons rule the skies, clans where humble animals come together to claim territory... anything you can think of, it truly does exist. Where do your loyalties lie? PLAYABLE RACES Any human, imaginary creature, original character, spirit being, made-up species, races with fandom backgrounds... all of them are permitted here. Wish to play a werewolf, a youkai, a unicorn, a bird, a human with godly powers, a normal human, a different kind of demon than the other guy has, an omnipotent spirit, a shinigami, a neopet for the laughs, a wizard, or a humble warrior cat? Go right on ahead~ ABILITIES There are no present restrictions on any abilities you may play. Of course, this does not mean that we encourage you to give your characters as many godlike abilities as you can. We hope that members will give powers to their characters that tie into their plot and lore- apply a reason as to 'why' your character has an ability. If you wish to use a power on someone else, please abide by the rules regarding powerplay. We ask that you gain OOC permission to use abilities from your fellow roleplayers, or you treat use of the power as you would a general attack, such as a punch or swipe of claws. If you try to teleport someone to whisk away with you, they have the right to say that the ability does not work. Of course, on the flipside, please do not make your character completely immune to everything; go with the flow, and see what plots might come of it. Have fun!

A.R. GUIDEBOOK RULES & GUIDELINES GENERAL RULES 1. Be Respectful: Always be respectful to members and staff. Respect the words, beliefs, and stories of others, and do not start drama. Rudeness will not be tolerated; please be polite at all times. If you ever have a question or concern, do not hesitate to take it to staff- we are here to help. 2. You May Make Your Own Rules: In your own roleplay threads, you are more than welcome to add rules and restrictions as you please. If someone breaks a rule, please politely and gently remind them. If they continue, please PM a staff member for assistance. 3. Be Appropriate: Talking about inappropriate or explicit topics is not permitted on this site at all times. Please keep all of your messages, In-Character and Out-of-Character, clean and free of controversial or unsuitable material, As explained in Proboard's Community Guidelines4. No Spamming or Advertising: Please do not double-post or advertise outside of the Advertising Area. Out-Of-Character content should be kept to OOC areas, and not posted in roleplay boards or threads. 5. No God-modding or Power-Playing: God-modding is where you have a character in some sort of battle, and they are practically 'untouchable.' All of the opponent's attacks miss their mark, while all of yours seem to hit. Powerplaying is where you control the character of another member. Instead of auto-hitting, try using words such as 'aiming' or 'attempting' to hit, so the opponent has the option to dodge if they wish. ROLEPLAY RULES 1. You May Be Powerful. A character can have as much power as they want on paper - we encourage it all. However, to impose that power on others requires the consent of all involved parties. To use that power to affect a setting, you must be aware that you are not allowed to simply ignore consequences. {Click For Example}For example, you may say 'Examplechar aimed to use his telepathy to search for the answer to his question", but it is up to the other player to decide whether or not the telepathy, or whatever power, works. This also goes for lands and settings. If you use your IC power, know that there may be IC consequences to face. For example, if you use magic to blow up a portion of a city, you will have to deal with the IC authorities, police, militia, or other powerful entities that will be after you for it. A good rule of thumb is that your characters can be immune to IC consequences, but once they start causing public or permanent damage, they become vulnerable to consequences imposed by any source. This is why doing mass damage is best done with mutual consent, or for plot to reach those consequences, which are good for character development. 2. Respect Site Settings. All site settings have lore attached to them. While it is fine to try and be an influence in-universe, doing something that unmakes an area, or ignores the lore it follows, is not allowed unless you have permission from the site's staff or the area creator/leader. {Click For Example}For example, one should not unleash a legion of magical dragons to burn down Sanctuary. However, you may unleash a small flock of dragons to savage a neighborhood or a couple of blocks. If you really want to do something on a very large scale, please run it by staff. 3. Personal Lore May Not Override Canon. All character types are accepted and creativity is encouraged. However, your personal lore is not allowed to override canon rules. Also, while a character's lore works for them personally, you are not allowed to impose that on another character without the permission of the player. {Click For Example}For example, you may play a deity that maintains immense power in their own universe, but that does not mean that they may ignore Sanctuary magic dampeners while invading Capital City. -- Have fun: Undoubtedly the most important rule comes at lucky number seven. Relax and have fun; we come to roleplay to get away from stress and drama. Abstract Reality should be a roleplay haven, so sit back and have fun with your plots and writing!
