Brush carried the large tome back to the lake edge, and set it down. she had gotten it from one of the libraries, not the buried one here, but one farther away which the tribe had not owned. well that had been an adventure of the least likely things happening. Brush was lucky to even get a hold of the book so soon, with persons falling out of the sky at the city she had visited. It wasn't the strangest thing that she had seen but it was a bit of an odd thing to see here in the first few weeks of her return to this land. That event worried Brush for even she sensed that it might hold foreboding for the months to come and she wasn't even a seer. Brush opened the book to a page in the middle, placed her paw on a page and began to read. Though it was not a warm day, brush found she rather be outside here in the clean crisp air than trying to pick her way to some sort of shelter. It allowed her to not think too heavily on what she had seen in the city. as it was she was looking to a solution for a more important magical problem, as well as maybe something that actually explained the problem or the magic used before the problem had begun but in this book it was hard to find. The page she had open spoke on how to make magical pockets for item storage. brush already knew how to do that. this would be a long day's work.

The tribe. It had been quite some time since she had taken a proper look around it. Most of her time was still heavily dedicated to thievery of precious items and jewels, anything she could grab ahold of really. Tall, unkempt grass licked at her legs as a cold breeze blew against her short golden fur. Feeling a shiver coming on Nazali could not help but to allow her teeth to chatter in response. Cold weather had never been a favorite of hers and it made the young female miss the blazing heat of the desert drastically. Perhaps I should have stayed inside, it's way too cold out here for my liking... The doe like dragoness thought to herself as she continued to push on quickly. She had been on her way to head back into the cavernous system of the tribe until she spotted the all too familiar form of Brush lying upon the ground reading a book. Nazali's eyes shimmered fondly at the sight of her friend and quickly changed her course of direction. "Brush! Hey aren't you a sight for sore eyes!" She chuckled whilst trotting over, stopping once she got closer. With a wide smile set on her features she continued on. "Whatcha been up to?"

when Brush had arrived here a while ago, she had only gotten to see rose, thorn and dear old Noir. she'd been wondering where everyone else was off to. The inability to find even a little bit of news about old friends had been aggravating at the best of times, and she'd really made an effort. she'd found out draco was sleeping under a deep spell, and that salia had returned but gone of somewhere, and that Vessa was around minding her own thing, but that all was markedly different from this encounter. It was one Brush never expected at this time. The slender female brought her eyes away from the tome. though the contents were time sensitive to an extent, it was not so important that brush need allow no distractions, especially this one, the unexpected voice of an old friend.
Brush Immediately raised her head, bringing her nose out from the pages of the large book she had been perusing, followed by standing to her feet. "Look what the desert wind brought in!" Brush exclaimed affectionately. "truly it has been too long." she agreed. The question on status was harder to answer. "I just got back a bit over a week ago?" she guessed. due to a phenomenon in her travels, brush had become bad at keeping track of the flow of time properly. Events were sometimes simultaneously close and far apart.

Grinning all the while she nodded her head quickly upon giving her next response. "Yup! I'm here! I umm needed a place to hide while things calm back down in my own homelands. I might have ahh, taken a few things that didn't belong to me again." The dragoness stated sheepishly, her attention drifting out to the side to avoid any chastising looks her friend might plan on giving her. She had been causing all sorts of trouble and there was no doubt a pretty price sitting upon the girls head. Yet, she had a firm belief that none of her pursuers would ever find her here. "But I mean it's not like they needed it anyway, it was just sitting around collecting dust. Might as well put it to good use right?" At this point she glanced back a Brush suggestively, tail swishing from side to side as the sound of jewelry jingled softly in response. "Want one? I have one that would go great with your fur and markings!" Nazali stated, attempting to suppress another shudder.

"still up to that old gig I see." Brush noted, amused. she also didn't approve of her friend's attraction to taking things which did not belong to her, but Nazali was also right, in many cases they were mere things sitting around collecting dust. still brush could not help but hold a disapproving look for a moment. It was a way of life she could never join in on, as her conscious would never let her. Yet for Nazali she often looked the other way. "well I hope you're safe here. its kind of a mess lately." brush admitted, sadly, considering how neglected things had been. the most thriving place was probably Vessa's home. It was kind of sad. But brush had to speak of another thing, the offer of some of the stolen good. "Keep your finds Nazali, Its wasted on me." Brush explained. it wasn't just about not wanting to be an accomplice. she also didn't really have a use for many shiny things. The pendant Brush wore, her only piece of jewelry was a gift and also a functional piece for magic use, crafted by Vic that made it more sentimentally valuable than anything stolen could ever be.
