Gloomy skies were the last thing anyone wanted to see, especially when they seemed so cold and unfamiliar above a hot atmosphere. Glassy blue eyes were wiped by a fair-skinned wrist once more as the blonde child blinked and gazed up at the unearthly sky. All she had wanted was to venture out to the swingset on the neighborhood playground. Her older sister had turned her back to talk to a friend, and suddenly, as she ran... darkness.
Not in the sense that she could not see anything, however. The air of the new world felt dark and creepy. It scared the eight year old human to the point of tears. Where was everybody, and why was she here?
//Casual RP while I try to work my muse back up. It's super late lol. Doing the Rifts quest lowkey here.

Through the streets of Necropolis it roamed, a simple creature with simple features. A short-heighted scythe with squiggly limbs and swirly ears, and a long forked tail tipped by arrowheads.
Atop the arch of its blade there sat a small, glowing pyramid; balanced not all too carefully, the solid bounced almost playfully as it walked along at a bounding gait, half-creeping, half-skipping between cobblestone buildings.
It wasn't paying too much mind too the road ahead, even humming to itself in a most uncanny way; the pyramid pulsed with every "hum", which sounded rather like the hum of a distorted voice cast aside to a sea of white noise, mingled with the vibrations of old, drowsy machinery. On every occasion its hum was pierced by the dischordant bong of a broken bell, accompanied by a boisterous hop into the air, and then a fleeing into some alleyway, disappearing amongst the shadows of the lamps, only to later reappear some time later out the other side, trotting calmly along.
As it passed by yet another set of buildings, its blade stiffened, its feet skidding to a halt. It had sensed movement on the edges of its mind, and so backstepped a couple meters. What met it next was a sight rather unusual hereabouts, yet not necessarily unwelcome: a fleshy from above! And a small one at that!
The scythe clasped its hands together, a clap sounding off from the impact of its inky palms. The object rather liked humans, even if they didn't necessarily like the sight of it; they gave its more inanimate cousins a use, and perhaps one day it could be of use itself.
Shoulders stooping, the scythe's staff arched strongly as it tried to make itself smaller, although more than likely made it look like a hunter on the prowl, a prehistoric raptor in the trees. Only on the ground.
Trying to make its eerie, hazy voice sound a bit welcoming, the scythe began to slowly approach the child, hoping it wouldn't scare the little thing away.

This world was new, and seemed unwelcoming, for the most part. Wherever she was... this place... she hated it. This was no realistic dream; she had already tried pinching that place on her arm that hurt no matter how softly you did it. She felt the harsh pain, and was undoubtedly awake. Where were her parents? Being alone and separated was something that she was not overly fond of. Even while playing alone, she preferred to still be within sight or sound of her family.
The eerie quiet of the heavy and gloomy atmosphere continued to unnerve the child. With senses on high alert, however, she quickly turned to notice the odd... thing... creeping towards her. Was that a knife on a stick, and did the stick have arms and legs? The blonde-haired girl was far too young to understand what a 'scythe' was. To her, this was a strange creature, and an animal she had not yet read about or encountered. Because it was not monstrous, however, the being was labeled in her mind as 'cute', and not too frightening... at least yet. She stood her ground and remained still, knowing that being quiet and not moving was the best course of action when it came to meeting animals of any sort. In her world, there were humans, animals, and plants. She ruled out the object-like thing as a human or plant, but it being a fauna made sense to her.
"Hello," Lilyvette murmured shyly and gently, in a hushed voice, as to not startle the 'animal'.

The scythe tiptoed closer until the human spoke to it, whereupon it immediately froze. The child's voice reverberated against its blade, bouncing off the metal and into the pyramid shape that floated above its head. The holographic solid spun and pulsed, and the word of greeting was echoed back towards the child; it was her voice, but it was heavily distorted to a point that the sound could be deemed creepy in some minds.
After that, the scythe plopped down on the ground, sitting with its arms stretched to either side of it, palms flat on the ground, and its legs out straight in front of it, pointed toes up. Its tail swayed calmly behind it as its curved blade was pointed down. The human didn't seem too afraid of it yet, and it wanted to show that it had no intentions of fighting the mammal.
It was rather curious as to what such a small human was doing in this crimson town, as it had never before seen a human here before. How did it even get here?
Its pyramid rotated questioningly around the head of its staff, a small ray of violet lay piercing searchingly through the darkness like the beam of a lighthouse.
