If one traveled far enough, one could find fast swaths of land which usually went untouched by the hands of anything intelligent. Deep in this sort of forest there stood a place that stood out as very organized and well cared for. once one entered the space the temperature lingered at about 70 degrees Fahrenheit regardless of the warmth or cold of the surrounding grounds, cool in summer, warm in winter. Outside of the grounds, thick trees and underbrush made travel difficult but for the hardy ranger types who knew the wild places, and the creatures who lived as one with the land. inside the grounds, the land was far easier to traverse. The trees thinned significantly. The bright colors of fall and the new growth of spring simultaneously crowned the trees and plants. Anything that could flower, also had blossoms. Anything that could bare fruit had some ripe for picking. Somewhere near the center of the space was a large one room cottage. The lights were on, the door open, the curtains pulled away from the windows, and the smell of good food cooking. A light feminine voice was singing a soft melody. It was an odd place to have stumbled but it definitely seemed like whoever was in the cottage was expecting company.

Amitiel To find such an area in what Amitiel assumed was the middle of nowhere was surprising, to say the least. They were sure that they had covered all that Eokia had to offer. Of course, that was far from the truth, considering the size and nuance of the areas, but that thought never crossed their mind.
Taking a familiar form, one of a girl with brown hair and bronze skin, they flew through the areas of the forest. It was dense, and seemed to be largely undisturbed by civilization until she found that cottage sitting in the middle of everything.
Tilting her head, she made her way toward the open door. There was a presence within - something Amitiel did not recognize or understand. Normally, that would scare most creatures away; this celestial, however, was a being of boundless curiosity.
Entering the cottage, Amitiel called out to its inhabitant. "Hello? May I speak to the person who claims this territory?" Celestial Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

covered in white feathers, with markings of amber hues of Celtic stye and eyes of the same sort of shade, was a creature, about as tall as a human, but maybe twice as long. she was built like a cat, but more slender, and she was winged, like a bird's. somehow she was operating an oven with ease, baking bread, and other dishes, most of which were placed on the table in an elaborate spread.
she placed the bread on the table before speaking. "Oh? a guest?" she asked switching to moving on all fours to walk to the door. "welcome in welcome in. can I offer you some herbal tea?" she asked, being willing to act as a host in this situation, and seeming to see no reason why the girl would not stay.
She quickly moved away from the door, placing cups on the table to soon be filled. "Oh I live here, dear, but I'm just the guardian of the land, a mere temporary thing." she finally corrected. by temporary tho, she could be meaning a century or more.

Amitiel The hospitality displayed by the being she came across surprised her. Amitiel was half-expecting to have to fight for her life upon entering its - or rather, her - domain, but that didn't seem to be the case today.
"Oh. I see."
Upon finding out that she was the guardian of the lands Amitiel stood in, the latter very respectfully withdrew her wings. She wanted to show the woman that she meant no harm, and that while they were under her roof, the angel would respect any laws she might have in place.
Of course, part of that respect was not refusing something offered out of the kindness of another being's heart. It was almost an unspoken rule in the supernatural world that, should you go against hospitality offered to you, it is tantamount to a declaration of ill-intent. Thus, Amitiel took a seat.
"Yes, I would like some tea. Thank you," she responded. Next came the introductions. "My name is Amitiel. I am an Angel of the Empyrean Celestials. Thank you for allowing me into your home, Lady Guardian." Celestial Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

The slender feathered dragonoid's eyes glittered with joy as the guest proved more than willing to join her. It was great to have guests, and the phenomenon seemed so rare these days. she had known someone would finally come thanks to some experience as an oracle, a talent she never bothered to flaunt these days.
She poured a reddish hued herbal tea, the steam of which carried the scent of a complex balance of fruit flowers subtle herbs and a slight citrus tang. It was a home made tea, one of many Combinations the female tried out. from the bounty that filled this land trapped between seasons, and capturing the best of them all. "Feel free to sample anything you like." she offered. "Its rare I ever have anyone to share with." she seemed slightly sad at this, for the female loved being able to have company who could appreciate her place.
she poured tea for herself, but had yet to take a seat as she cleaned up around the cozy kitchen and dining space, keeping the clutter of objects from utensils to seasonings, to fresh flowers in order. "Its wonderful to meet you dear. Its been a while since I've heard from anyone of the higher realms, and your's its the first time I've heard of it. A nice place yes?" surely her hut and her lands, though an eden to those who enjoyed such places as gardens, paled to anything on the pure higher planes. that she knew of any at all might be a bit surprising, but she'd been to a draconic one a few times she sighed. "You can call me Vessa dear. Everyone I know calls me that." Her full name was longer, Vesstali, Tamai, but that was only used in the most formal of occasions. it made no sense for entertaining guests unless the guest was here on business.

Amitiel Amitiel didn't know what to do in return for the kindness that the Guardian - now known as Vessa - was showing her. A smile would have been appropriate, if the angel was used to performing the expression.
"Yes. Vessa," She repeated the draconoid's name, sipping on the tea. It was absolutely delicious - every molecule, every sensation, was felt by Amitiel. Such a taste would prove to be hard to forget.
When the draconic being posed the question of her home, Amitiel grew silent. "Yes. It is... beautiful. Yes," she said. The concept of subtlety was obviously lost on the Celestial, and her hesitancy and dismay at speaking about Empyrea was obvious.
"Your home is amazingly beautiful, however," Amitiel quickly tried to change the subject - something she learned from many a talk with awkward mortals. "It could pass for a higher plane in and of itself. How does one happen upon such a beautiful, remote place? Perhaps it is by the grace of the Lords that I am allowed to be here in such a breathtaking oasis." Empyrean Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

So, the angel did not wish to talk about home. That was alright. Perhaps Vessa could find out more at another time if there was a need for such curiosity. She wasn't interested in pressing matters when there was far more to speak about.
The feathery dragon felt flattered about the praise to her work and laughed slightly,a bell like, musical sound. "This place is like a reflection in a pool." she explained. "my presence makes it beautiful, as long as I am here it will thrive beyond the natural state," this was her role. her presence enhanced the land, and the land mimicked her presence in the way those enhancements manifested themselves.
"but" she noted, "some some things can't exist here. colors, smells textures, you'll never see, or if they are here at all, are far more dim, than their brilliance in the higher planes." to match such brilliance on the physical plane was impossible. Vessa was proud of her work knowing it was closer than much of the world, but it was truly like tissue paper, thin and ephemeral. How does one happen upon such a thing.
Vessa had one answer. "many wander in by chance, sometimes a stroke of bad luck. although sometimes its years or months between visits." she admitted wishfully. it was a little lonely at times when the only company around were the little simpler minded creatures.

Amitiel Yes, it was true that the Heavens were a gorgeous place to be. Empyrea, from what she remembered, was a place of unparalleled beauty and luster. A picture perfect image of an angelic paradise.
Oh, if only people knew.
Still, she wasn't here to ruin anyone's vision of the higher planes - no, that would be breaking more laws than were already fractured. She was offered a reprieve already - no need to sour that blessing.
"Such a shame. This place is too beautiful to be unvisited," or, perhaps that's what would keep it beautiful. Leaving it untainted by the hands of those whom were not pure.
Amitiel almost lumped herself in with those individuals.
Still, it didn't take a genius to notice the loneliness in Vessa's voice. "Do you ever wish for a companion?"
She took another sip of tea. Delicious. "May I ask for cookies?" Empyrean Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

Vessa looked a little sad. It was kind of true that should the wrong people come here the place could loose some of its luster, but at the same time she longed to share it with one or more others more regularly. Beauty, required a witness to appreciate it in a way.
"I used to have...at least one who would come and visit from time to time," Vessa admitted sadly, "but it's been long since I last saw her..." The slender feathered female seemed momentarily lost in thought of old memories, but soon snapped out of it.
She moved to fix up a few more things in the hybrid, kitchen dining area, procuring a plate for fresh cookies as requested. "help yourself to anything on the table dear." There was not only cookies, but many other baked dishes, breads, pies both fruity and savory ones, casseroles, and so on.
She provided serving utensils for the various dishes, and set them on the table. "I do wish for a companion." she admitted "I often wonder if I made the right choice, coming back to the living, just because of not wanting to cause my sister pain." she snapped herself out of that thought. "but that's not hear or now." it seemed silly to tell a stranger something that had such personal roots like that.

Amitiel Amitiel's own bluntness couldn't catch the nuance in Vessa's tone. Whatever hidden thing that she had was lost on the, now very distracted, angel.
Taking a bite of one of the cookies, Amitiel paused. Then, she was scarfing down more, and finally took a long drink of her tea. Terrible table manners, yes, but she was definitely happy.
This was punctuated by an aura of her wings appearing. The appendages then fluttered, with the celestial emitting a low, very harmonic sound. Any being with the power of empathy could see that she was very pleased.
"Byzama fela warjul," she spoke in her native tongue, leaning her head into her hand.

Vessa was merely happy to see another so pleased. Truly she had missed sharing what she had so willingly with another. For a spell she could take it easy and enjoy that the angel was happy. "I certainly hope I'm no temptress." Vessa noted though the comment was far from serious. Her food was tempting for its quality. "Im merely glad you're enjoying it all." Any company was quite a refreshing change. It probably wouldn't last but the feathery dragoness still adored it.

Amitiel "Oh, I'm sorry. I was not implying that you were a temptress," Amitiel hastily attempted to apologize. "No, that was not my..."
Her words stopped when she felt an energy begin to surface somewhere in the area. A very familiar energy, at that.
"... intention," Amitiel finished. Turning in her seat, she looked out of the door into the forest. Something was approaching, it seemed.
They were approaching.
"No," Amitiel whispered. "Not now." Empyrean Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

Non Player Character Avenging Angel From the shadows of the trees stepped forth a light. The body of the being was luminous; a shining beacon that, even in the beauty of the area, seemed to stand out as if its own radiance battled for supremacy. Its body was masculine, with the features of Adonis and the countenance of a hardened warrior. Upon its head was a ring of light that illuminated everything around its feet in a golden glow. Its eyes were blazing like fire, and in its hand was a blade that shone with radiant power. The aura it emitted was as burning as its eyes, yet nothing burned. At least, not yet. The avenging angel, a Messenger sent by the Heavens, had descended upon Vessa's home. It was in search of one particular being - the one whom shared its origins. Amitiel. "Come out, Betrayer," the avenger's voice rang through the area, echoing with divine intent. "Or I shall lay waste to all things here to draw you out."

"What not now?" vessa looked quite confused for a spell, but then her large eyes glanced over a flower pitcher and she grew troubled. Many things in her house seemed randomly placed, but she had been trained to take omens from things that could subtly change.
A loud voice from outside came clear and hard to ignore. Vessa rose, straightened her feathers, and strode towards the door.

Non Player Character Avenging Angel The Avenger's gaze locked onto Vessa's as she exited the home. His wings began to beat, and his blade was lifted. He began to address her. "Spirit of this land," it was obvious that the angel could recognize whose energy permeated the area. Even still, that didn't seem to change its method of interaction with her. "You are harboring a Traitor within your home. Bring them out, and I shall leave your home in peace."It was painfully clear that Amitiel was set to receive divine justice.
