Although the angel was impressive and intimidating, Vesstali managed to maintain a calm demeanor. she didn't flinch or cringe in the Angel's light "Those I have welcomed into my land, may drop the baggage of past wrongdoing for a time. My guest has been wonderful, a joy to have around. To cast her out now would be yet another betrayal, too cruel even as you threaten to destroy. If you set aside all vengeance you may come and sup with us and perhaps matters may be healed. If you can not, the least I ask, is for you to save your pursuit for one outside my lands, and do not taint the purity of this place with such pursuits." Vessa's words might even be seen as elegant to some as she stood up for her guest without even a shiver of fear. Though the land was hers to tend, there were also more valuable things

Non Player Character Avenging Angel The angel's facial expression did not change. One could not even be sure if it could, considering how stone-faced the being was. A marble statue almost. "We cannot accept this," the angel simply responded. "Your home is pure, yes. But, to harbor this Betrayer is to forfeit the very concept of purity. If you are truly pure, you will let that creature face its judgement."The Avenger's eyes flickered to the home. "You have until the count of five to emerge, or the sky will rain down upon you and this innocent," this was directed at Amitiel. There was no response. "One." Still nothing. "Two." Silence. "Three."Then, the door opened. From it stepped Amitiel, eyes locked on to the Avenger's own. There was a brief, pregnant silence before Amitiel spoke.

Amitiel "I'm here, Avenging Angel," said Amitiel.
The Avenger didn't respond -- it merely continued staring with a silent, palpable fury. That made Amitiel continue walking toward the two beings, eventually stopping near Vessa.
"Please. This guardian has done nothing wrong. She opened her home out of the kindness of her heart..." Amitiel was pleading now. "Find it within yourself, in the everlasting mercy of the Maker, to redirect your retribution to me and me alone."
Once again, the opposing angel did not speak. However, unlike most beings who would simply regard it as being obtuse, Amitiel knew that the Avenger was weighing its options.
No one knew the Avengers better than her, after all. She knew that they were beings who smote only when they needed to.
This might have been that time. In preparation for that, Amitiel turned to Vessa. "If this comes to blows, I will be sure to take the fight elsewhere, ma'am."
Her human form's eyes shone with preemptive power. "I will not let taint touch this land." Empyrean Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

Vessa's expression was sad. "to late dearie," vessa turned her gaze to indicate the avenging angel "the avenging goals this one has brought has brought taint enough. judgement? it is no pure thing if it is not in your power to also forgive." She stood near Amitiel, her posture more like a protective dog for the time being. "whatever has been done, you don't deserve this dear. if you did it would have shown in the omens about you." she didn't even care what the crime might have been, a person, and a good one at that, was far more important than her land. "it would be the taint of guilt to let you go to this when you have done me no wrong."

Amitiel Everything was now put into perspective for Amitiel. Whatever feelings of wariness she may have held for Vessa were diminished the moment those words were said.
This being did not condemn Amitiel. She did not feel as though Amitiel wasn't worth protecting. Vessa reminded her so much of the Empyrean Lord that once saved her a few years ago.
With this in mind, the angel turned to its former brethren. "Avenger... I'm sorry. But, you are not welcome here. Go elsewhere, or face retaliation."
Still, the Avenger did not move. However, his energy began to flare. Anyone who knew a higher being's temperament would understand what that meant; the Avenger was ready to fight.
And, thus, Amitiel too flared her own energy. "We shall take this battle elsewhere..."

Non Player Character Avenging Angel The angel had been silent, pondering over its next course of action. Vessa's words, they may have rang true. The things they were doing was pugilistic; a punitive measure that was made necessary by their highers. And yet, the Avenger could not help but take Vessa's words as a personal attack, as well. The angel was still quiet as it connected its mind with Empyrea, asking for guidance. What was received was a very clear, very succinct order: "annihilate them both". The angel flared its energy as it prepared its attack. Amitiel had done the same, giving confirmation that the enemy angel would not go quietly. Its eyes flickered to Vessa, who seemed to be protecting Amitiel. She would be the first to go. In a blinding speed, its blade was drawn, and its wings spread out to its fullest, mighty span. The energy coming from the Avenger was formidable - as to be expected of a heavenly assassin. In the next instant, it rushed at Vessa, swinging its blade sideways to try and cleave into both her and Amitiel at the same time.

Vessa had not shown many hints to give away her power or ability the way the angels had. Perhaps the biggest hint was her lack of fear, which was either from foolishness or confidence, and more likely the latter.
Now, right before the attack landed, she would show she was not gonna just be the victim here. She and perhaps Amitiel too if there were no complications, would be transported elsewhere in that microsecond. It was symilar to teleportation for the current purposes. They weren't gonna flee. The omens did not show sucess in trying, plus Vessa could not leave this territory and keep a large portion of her abilities after all. The sword would swing through empty air if all went right. How and where Amitiel reappeared if she was effected by this was up to her.
Visually Vessa reappeared almost like bits of light coming together to form a whole, but she was active before that merging looked complete to hopefully land a flurry of attacks. They were attacks based on light, symilar to the angelic abilities she was up against, but the light took on a hard physical quality. Needles, long and sharp came from multiple directions, mostly aimed low, at the angel's legs. It wasn't the most dangerous attack, but the speed and quantity made them no joke, and depending on how many found their mark, the avenging angel would find his legs looked like they'd been hit by a porcupine.
Regardless of if this hit well or not, Vessa followed up this attack with another light attack, from the air, a little lower than the angel's shoulder height, from behind, a beam of light which was wider than the needles, but still not much wider than an inch in diameter, was sent to hopefully pierce the angel through at that point in his back. Vessa doubted that this would kill. Angels and other such beings herself included were not easy to kill, but the nature of her energy might be able to disrupt his, since it was alike but not the same.

Amitiel Amitiel took the time following the teleportation to attack the enemy angel. Her wings emerged before she dashed forward to deliver close-ranged strikes of light energy down upon the Avenger.
Each attack was aimed at center mass, attempting to damage the lesser-known core of the Empyrean assassin.
She knew that it wouldn't be enough to take down an Avenging Angel, but perhaps it could scare him into fighting defensively.
Unfortunately, that hypothesis wasn't correct. Empyrean Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless Non Player Character Avenging Angel Vessa's sudden disappearance didn't shake the Avenger. It was to be expected - the being was in charge of maintaining a domain for herself, of course she would be swift enough to dodge. The needles, however, caught him off guard. They bore into his legs, but caused no visible pain or slowing in his movements. Instead, it turned to the position it predicted Vessa would go. Of course, it was behind him. That was a very typical strategy in battle. It lifted its blade to block the beam, reflecting it away from himself. Still, he found himself double-teamsed when Amitiel bore down on him. The angel's own attacks were a bit effective, but the avenger was able to send the angel flying away with a well-timed beam of light that threw Amitiel into the sky. A few slashes bore down on Vessa, aiming to try and separate her head from her body.

Mirrors, were an easy thing to form from the energy of this place and the objects here. Water though often refractive in nature made good material for them, by running her energy through the water in some of the leaves in the trees to change their nature, Vessa made reflective bits, to catch the deflected beam of light and bounce it back at another angle. Vsessa didn't seem to dodge or move at all as the blade came down. Instead her form became something so poorly defined that is was akin to the blade slicing through thin air.
Afterwards, She moved through the air, flying, quickly but slow compared to the strange evasion used when she'd placed the needles. Those didn't seem to harm the angel at all at the moment, but they might be useful later.

Non Player Character Avenging Angel The beam connected, or so it seemed to. The angel's body was thrown back by the attack... only for what seemed to be an afterimage to emerge, flying directly toward Vessa. He had sensed her light, and knew where the flow of the particles would land. This celestial being was obviously very well-versed in how things worked on this planet just from that action alone. This time, the blade took a more ethereal form as he swiped. The result of it hitting meant it could deal damage to metaphysical matter. Amitiel had tried to intervene, but another afterimage emerged from the angel's position, moving toward Amitiel at comparable speeds. Amitiel The two angels clashed in the skies; Amitiel's fist meeting with the Avenger's blade. The result was a mighty flash of light and energy that separated the two of them.
Spinning back into place, Amitiel had just barely dodged the follow-up slashes by the Avenger. When she moved out of the way of one slash, the afterimage apported behind her and thrust forward. She swung herself out of the way, and the blade clipped at her wing.
Normally, it would have done nothing to her, but the properties of the blade's supernatural makeup caused her to feel pain. Still, she was able to block the next slash in a burst of reflex, throwing the angel's afterimage back before unleashing her own beam of light at the being.
He was clipped by it, but the afterimage sped to the left in an attempt to flank from another side.

Though the blade might easily cut through Vessa as a ghost-like being, This time the blade would not harm her because she was not there to be cut. Her energy seemed to defuse significantly as she entered a near omnipresent state, merging with the environment so that she was for a short time everywhere at once. From this state Vessa honed in on the needles she had placed earlier in order to locate the Avenging angel. The after-images were probably distraction after all.
Rather than reform, Vessa joined her will with those needles she had placed. Some she made explode, but since the angel did not rely on his legs, that might not do very much. Some needles she liquefied, turning into a light-poison, so that it might eventually reach the angel's core.

Non Player Character Avenging Angel The attempts to reach the angel's core seemed to activate something within him. His aura began to flare and a wave of explosive energy erupted from the depths of his being. The resulting explosion would go through the area, sending celestial fire searing through the air. The attack against it would fail, but it revealed the angel's truest form - a multi-headed, multi-winged humanoid being. Its halo grew in size, and now sat behind it as it released blinding light. Amitiel The resulting burst of energy was all-too familiar to her. She moved out of the way of the blast almost immediately, flying higher into the sky to keep out of its radius.
Everything below them was to be subject to fire, though. That was disconcerting, to say the least. Amitiel's own anger grew at the revealing of the Avenger's true form.
"So, you truly wish for our destruction, brother? At the cost of this beautiful oasis, you wish to destroy us?" Amitiel asked. Her voice was firm, but carried with it the sadness of betrayal. "You are just like Yuel."
Closing her own eyes, Amitiel let her own power begin to surface. The finale of the fight was upon both her and Vessa. Empyrean Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

Vessa unfortunately could not get out of the fire like that. Her tie to this land was too tight for her to fly out. Even though she kept a spirit form, she was stuck in the burning, forced out of the omnipresent state because of the pain of the land.
She had to stop the fires. That had to become the priority if she were to remain an influence in this fight. Vessa called up water from her wells, and from the ground, using the liquid to quench some of the fires. Many did not die easily. What was damaged could not be repaired, at least not quickly. Some of the trees alone had taken years to cultivate.
The damage brought unpleasant memories. Vessa could not attack until the angels once again got into her range. She had some ideas for an offensive blow, but they would take some preparation. Until then Amitiel might have to fight alone.
