Aruna The forest must have been screaming at me, right now. I definitely would have been, considering the heavy levels of mining hauls I just dumped onto her floor. Poor Gaea would have my head, I was sure of it.
Let's hope it would be after I loaded up the cart.
I eyed the many, many piles of stone, crystal, and other such resources gathered. Containers full of fuel-efficient liquid, stones emanating magical power, and of course, many troves of other such things I was able to procure.
Poor mining drone was out of it, though, so I was expecting to do all of the work myself.
No use griping over it, now. I was used to getting my hands dirty.
So I started the trek with two armfuls of haul. The process was simple; take some of the materials, trek up the side of the rocky cliff, get to the vehicle at the summit, dump the haul into the back, come back down, rinse and repeat.

Magog "Because, my dear. They are evil creatures, and that is what they do. They use their power to bully those smaller than them into submission," I said to her.
I held out a hand to her. "But, you can fight fire with fire, after all..." My gaze was leveled directly at the demoness when I spoke. "I am the ruler of Necropolis, and I could tell them that you will not be harmed. I could protect you from all things in this realm; all beings who want to hurt you."

Note for Players For all of you mega-powerful characters; her skin is extremely durable, yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's invincible. Your power is respected. However, what that does mean is that she is protected from blatant attempts to use pure brute force to take her out. Dealing grievous harm to her while she's on the field is based on consent. Aruna Loka Four-armed lady | 50 // female // neutral "Time is money, don't waste mine." General Information Ported character from World of Tur. Image is of the Kavroc species from World of Tur. Aruna Loka is a four-armed lady of origins she deems both irrelevant and generally unremarkable. She is an extremely gifted engineer, whose studies into magic and technology from all over have given her significant ability to craft magitech. Personality Focused is word most would use to surmise Aruna's personality. Determined to a fault, she engages in endless research to uncover the mysteries that the marriage of technology and magic holds. To this end, she works primarily in Sonlas, serving those who need her. She tends to find herself bouncing between Zakat and Richu, doing errands and completing contracted work. She makes it clear that, despite their disputes, she isn't affiliated with either directly, preferring to simply build and do what she wishes. Of course, she isn't stupid enough to actually announce this viewpoint, considering the repurcussions that could occur from her appearing to hold a side. She is generally irreverent, preferring to hold no respect for any godlike being. This is primarily out of spite, due to her rather spotty relationships with many divine beings stemming from her interactions with the gods in her homeland of Tempura. All this being the case, she isn't without tact. She respects an individual based on their merit and the work they put in to better themselves; while she doesn't look upon blatant incompetence very well, she isn't one to broadcast it unless the person is willing to take the criticism. This isn't entirely out of some empathetic sense of duty - she can't stand blubbering. Aruna, in many cases, has been known to be downright kind to some individuals. Those she works closely with are given the brunt of her sarcasm, but also hold the greatest access beyond her 'wall'. What seems like standoffish behavior out of hating social interaction - as introverted as she may be - only seems this way because she has a low tolerance for things she deems as "bullshit". She drinks saltwater. Don't ask her what her species is - she doesn't take the question very well. Appearance Pictured above. Four-arms. Stands at 183cm. Wears some jewelry. Amber eyes. Otherwise humanoid features. What looks like makeup is actually just natural for her. Body isn't made of skin - it's more like marble. Affiliations Sonlas and Eden, primarily. She finds herself pretty impressed with Eden's work, and states that her lab is a neutral zone for any Edenites that want to build their tech in peace. Otherwise, she bounces between Zakat and Richu, doing contract work and just generally talking with people there. She doesn't hold a political stance for it, and prefers to stick within No Man's Land. She doesn't have a very high opinion of Eokian culture, but can spare the typical Eokian the sass if they're willing to not be prejudiced. Abilities Aruna isn't a combatant; she'd tell you that one in a heartbeat. She can tell you exactly how a weapon works, but performing extensively with it is entirely out of the question. She isn't a magic user; that was proven during her time in her homeland. Instead, most of her skills lie in her ability to build technology to help her out. She has a weapon to defend herself if need be, but she isn't some grandmaster of the martial arts. Who needs it? She prefers to study and build. - Intellect: Her principal skill. She understands the concept of an IQ, but doesn't really adhere to it since she assumes its more of a "Sanctuary" thing. She has the ability to connect complex theories together, create her own, and understand new material rather quickly. With that said, her most powerful trait is her natural brainpower, allowing her to focus on a large number of tasks at once without tiring.
- The Sciences: Aruna's knowledge of mathematics, engineering, "etheric sciences" as she calls applied magic theory, and interdisciplinary sciences are a marvel. She doesn't flaunt it often, but she's acutely aware of the theories behind it since she's built lots of things to help her and those that contract her.
- Exorbitant Durability: She says that it isn't technology doing it. Her skin is something of a "damage soaker" - it's unlikely that anything physical or magical would make its way through it unless there was enough "firepower" behind it.

Magog I see. "You have absolutely no idea what happened to elicit that reaction, hm?"
Interesting. It would be necessary to study this girl.

Haven Palum
Haven Palum is an haven area within a city called Palum, a southern city in Sanctuary's borders. It is a well-known Edenite area, surrounded with things that ensure their activities are kept clandestine. The Haven Haven Palum is one of the many haven areas located inside of Sanctuary, where people of supernatural origin can mingle with one another. Palum, in particular, is a particularly well-known Haven, where the most effective group of anti-Sanctuarian government rebels lie; Eden. The people of Haven Palum typically enjoy a life of solitude, facilitated by the Mayor of Palum. Dead Zone Status All of Haven Palum is a known Dead Zone inside of Sanctuary. Within its borders, the technology of Sanctuary is at its weakest, allowing for people who go against the State's ideals to live in relative peace. The Dead Zone extends to the borders of Haven Palum, but gets weaker as you near it. It begins to fizzle out entirely past a certain point, and the city's mandatory technology takes over. Locations There are a few locations within Haven Palum. - The nexus of the haven, where organizations are allowed to meet to discuss their plans. Among the places here is an Eden Safehouse.
- Housing district, where people are allowed to live and mingle. The prices are slashed by the Mayor as an effort to promote the happiness of the supernaturally-affiliated populace.
- The inner city, an activity center for the people who live in Haven Palum.
- Palum Railroad, leading to many locations - one outside of Sanctuary into Sonlas, one into Eokia, one to other places in the world by request.
- Various Backalleys leading to various places in the main city, greater Sanctuary, and back.
The City The greater city of Palum is a rather large metropolitan area. It boasts the same technology that all of Sanctuary does, but due to its distance from the Capital, it is weaker in stability. This, however, is good for the ideals of the higher-ups in the government of Palum, as they are secretive supporters of the rights of the supernatural due to having close affiliations with Eden. Enforcer Presence The police force stationed in Palum are largely in the know of its activities, and most are on board. Because Palum's general ranks largely govern themselves due to some politicking with the Enforcer Commander, the Mayor makes use of this by instating Enforcers of nearly all backgrounds. Naturally, there are some who would undermine the goals of Palum's higher ups, but often times they are silenced due to very covert methods and subtle political maneuvering. Important NPCs - Mayor Melia Cowenhall
Female, 45, Dark Skin, Black Hair. Headstrong, serious about her job, very cunning. Close ties with Eden. Current mayor of Palum, human, secret supernatural activist, had an elf husband and has two halfling sons - ages 14 and 19. Watches the backs of everyone in Haven Palum.
Playable by anyone so long as you keep the basic characterization solid. Do not play favorites with your character.

I landed cleanly behind him when he dodged. The counterattack I was waiting for came soon after. It was a measured blow, aimed for my throat. Quick and precise; applying what I assumed was some sun person martial art.
I'm pretty sure, for all intents and purposes, it seemed like the attack was going to hit me.
It didn't.
There I was standing next to his outstretched arm. One of the best practical applications of my powers, honed by yours truly.
The speed of the attack might have been fast for just about anything else on the mortal end of the spectrum, but I some years of ducking under thrown objects of all shapes, sizes, and material composition.
"What was that, your morning stretch?" At this point in my experience, Shinzo might as well have just stood still.

Kenessa He made the dummies to be witnesses to the fight?
I just suppressed the roll of my eyes at the prospect. Gods were Gods, no matter what coat of paint they put on themselves.
Still, I was cracking my knuckle, readying myself to take a punch at this god. Swords weren't really what I was looking forward to; I wasn't going to draw a divinity-slayer against a divinity.
So, instead, I spun on my heel, and threw myself at Shinzo with a punch aimed at directly for his face. It was a direct move; even drunk, I knew it would be immediately countered or intercepted. I had a really mean right hook, I knew, but I was being forward here. Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female

Sonlas Updates! Sonlas is getting a make-over! This is another update rolling out for, in the past, what was one of the least defined areas on the map. It was a brilliant concept, but needed to be more concrete in its foundation to bring in more players. However, unlike the Sanctuary Update, which was a complete explanation on how the technology there works, this one is more abstract in a sense. It's simply clarifying some things/giving players more of a chance to carve out their stories in the world. So, here's the overarching theme of Sonlas as of now, which will be added to the guide soon after the publishing of this post! - Sonlas is a land near Eokia, but is not affected by the barrier. Therefore, technology is not weakened there. However, it's in a Goldilocks-zone where magic does permeate there.
- Because of Sonlas' culture, while magic is present, the majority of the population aren't that great at using it like Eokians do. Instead, they are the premier magitech location. Skilled magic users are not necessarily uncommon, however, so never fear - you can still have your magical beings exist in this setting.
- The two sides, Zakat and Richu, are known for the tensions they have with one another, as well as Sonlas' threats from beyond their own borders. That'll be explained below since this is the most important update.
- All kinds of magitech are completely welcome to be explored here! Zakat and Richu are split between Steampunk- and Cyberpunk-style magitech, respectively, so introducing new things to show them is good narrative choice.
Sonlas' Wars and Areas War is inevitable everywhere in the world, and Sonlas is no different. There is an overarching narrative behind it that's able to be influenced heavily by all players! - Civil War: Sonlas is having a Civil War with itself over the resources needed to build their technology. Their systems aren't nearly as self-sustaining as Sanctuary, so they rely on everything around them. Zakat and Richu fight very often, meeting in a place called the No Man's Land. The fights never reach the capitals, so people who stay in the hearts of Zakat and Richu are usually very safe.
- No Man's Land: Sonlas' vaster wilderness is large swath of land going across the middle of the continent like a belt called No Man's Land. It's resource rich, but finds itself starting to dwindle in a lot of areas due to war. Zakat and Richu fight often over it. No Man's Land is also home to plenty of towns or civilizations that don't want anything to do with the war.
- War With Sanctuary: Sanctuary is planning to touch down on this continent. They've been in a few naval skirmishes with them in the past, but following the events of Gravity Hurts, they have begun to mobilize and deal with outside threats more proactively. Sonlas is now on the radar!
- Tensions Beyond: There's some tension between many in Eokia and the Sonlasian people. Technology isn't treated well in a majority of places in Eokia by culture, so the existence of Sonlas which mixes magic and technology is offers a range of reactions from them. Finding people who are willing to attack Sonlas from Eokia isn't very hard! Beyond this, other invaders are always a possible threat, so feel free to act those out, as well!
Beyond this, everything else is up to interpretation. We hope that having this little bit of worldbuilding helps spur some inspiration for new players in the area! Head on over to the Sonlas board and have yourselves a good time! Have fun and always ask questions! Play hard, AR!

Kenessa Regeneration. I wasn't surprised. Shaken, but not surprised.
The teleportation, however, nearly caught me off guard. I was quick to react, moving to the side out of the way of the physical attacks. I could feel myself trying to activate my plane-shifting power, and I could feel it failing.
Still, the heat of those flame pillars streaked against my back, reminding me that I was working in a very confined space.
I didn't waste any time, and took another three shots at the demigod. It was done less out of a strategy, and more out of a sense of needing to do something to stave off his advance.

Kenessa I wasn't usually immediately violent toward people. It didn't do me good for business to just go around punching everything that looked mildly unsettling.
This guy was really pushing that to the limit. I don't even think I had a reason to not shoot him.
"Listen ya drunk bastard," My voice was as calm as it could get. Nothing about this guy scared me. "You got five seconds to turn and leave."
Technically, we were in an alleyway, and playing bouncer there was pretty stupid, even I could admit, but I wasn't exactly running on logic. It was just pure protective instinct, by this point.
So I started the countdown in my head, and at the count of five... well, that was an easy one. Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female

Amitiel The vampire woman's answer was immediately assessed.
As far as I knew, it was never in the nature of the Empyreans to look through the soul of another being. No, they simply decided how close to the Darkness you were, and acted accordingly.
It wasn't until I came under Lady Vessa's tutelage that I was taught to be "fairer". I was to judge people based on the merits of their actions and the goodness - or lack of - in their hearts.
She taught me to do so, and I was able to apply that.
Nothing would change outwardly, but within myself, I was looking at this girl from another dimension altogether. It wasn't perfect, but it gave me a gist.
Her energies were stable. I lifted my hand, signalling to the other two women interrogating her. "Her heart is good, and her disposition docile. She is no threat."
I didn't realize how that could have been an incomplete assessment, but purity was something I was easily able to sense. "She is protected from destruction until further notice. Please stand down, Ms. Michela." archangel neutral Good | Ageless | Sexless

Kenessa Oh. Right. Swords.
"Aye, that's, uh, true. Well, uh...," when the, what I guessed were, projections appeared to be my targets, I looked to the sword and gun on my side.
Best to just play it by ear, then. That's how I usually worked. "Let's go then."
I tightened my fists, readying myself for attack.
