Dragons were a tasty breed.
Even without being cooked, their souls were similar in taste to well cooked barbecue. Abeo savored the taste which was quickly there and gone again. The feeling of having consumed the soul, however, was an entirely different sensation that would not disappear so quickly. The dragon she had just received the soul of was not what one could consider a divine power, but it was strong enough to satisfy the Daemon’s unbalanced hunger.
The real problem was, the soul was hot. Very hot. And spicy.
Along with the power that Abeo received from the soul, the side effects of this one were excruciating. Her tongue ablaze, the tiny raven haired girl opened her mouth to find flames come forth, hot and ready.
It was a good thing that she was in a city made mostly of wood and stone; a simple coastal town, Delmarsh. With so much wood, the dragon flames would last a lot longer! How convenient. The fire surprisingly was relieving the Daemon of the sting of spicy food, while also enlightening her mind with an exhilarating thought of chaos.
Racing at speeds that could rival any cheetah, Abeo ran through the streets and alleyways, happily seeing the wood catch fire as she sprinted through that neighborhood. However, eventually the stream of flames would come to an end, despite the run having been fun. Leaping atop a short town building, the Daemon sat down happily to watch the dancing flames, proud of her pyromania.

Money changed hands with a merchant and.. the shopping was done. Fabric on the seamstress' request, some spices for the cook, a few gift items for (sanctuary) holidays, and he'd actually bought something he wasn't in need of for once, a pinkish Eokian fruit about the size of a softball, that the locals said was good. Everything but the fruit went into a pack, and the demihuman struck out towards his place of residence.
He bit into the fruit as he walked. The locals hadn't been kidding. With a texture like an apple crossed with butter and a taste not unlike raspberry with the punch of pineapple and flavors he couldn't place, he hadn't known the like. To a boy who hadn't known luxury it was a few coins well spent.
As he walked he began to plan out the remainder of the day. He was looking forward to some things.
Then he heard the call fire coming from the way he'd come. All plans were cut short when he saw what he saw. In such a short time, Delmarsh was ablaze.
Already his feet were leading him back. He could do something to help.
The distance closed like a snap, a mixture of instinct and ration guiding his steps. The plan that began forming in his mind was one he would have shrugged off as crazy and impossible just a month ago. He knew differently now.
As he ran, he passed men and women from the town, very few were panicking. These men knew their aptitudes, and what they were in charge of doing without needing to be told, due to however many hardships the place had endured. A stone-skinned man with high durability was helping people out of homes. A woman was activating spellwork, protecting what had yet to be touched by the flames in her area, and so on.
Glowing, he found his way towards the pier. They had a whole ocean to draw from, but the bucket brigades and spells seemed to only do so much. Focusing, he brought his light into play, using his barriers as a container, drawing large amounts of water from the sea, infusing it with his light, and letting it spread across burning structures.
It began to wear at the fire, quenching it instantly in places, and limiting its intensity and spread in others but it would take more than just one attempt to fully put all the flames out. Water was harder to transport than he had thought too. There was probably a more efficient way to go about this.
Unfortunately he might have also splashed a certain arsonist in the process.

The commotion was exciting and fun to watch, like an entertainment program on a television set for a human. What more could a demonic being ask for? People were doing their best to put out the fire, and help any trapped people escape. There was a mix of human effort and magic to put the blaze to rest, and to keep any casualties out of the picture.
While Abeo was silently hoping that a soul or two would be left for her to claim after the flames subsided, it seemed that there would be no such luck. The people of the town worked diligently, and the once brilliant blaze was growing smaller and smaller. As the Daemon kept her eyes focused more on the workers from afar, she failed to miss a certain holy being nearby, doing his own work at putting out her fires.
With a big splash and miniature shriek, the small Daemon felt her ethereal skin and dress drenched in water, having still made her form at least physical enough to be impacted by some of the elements.
Red eyes turned to view the perpetrator, an almost angelic entity, who was still human, and very familiar. Temporarily closing her eyes, the Daemon thought where she had once seen the dark skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes. Within heartbeats, the memory returned; when the citizens of Necropolis invaded the world of the living under King Kasvetli, she had ventured into Sanctuary, a predominantly human land. There she had met the boy, and had targeted him with her own corruption. That in mind, how was he here, and had her corruption done anything worth noting?
Whether he was traveling or an official resident of Delmarsh, Eokia, had yet to be known. One thing was certain, however-- he did not seem to have evolved in the way of chaos and corruption. Rather, he seemed to be a fairly resilient being of light, utilizing power to hold sea water to quench her dragon flames.
The gods of fun and luck were smiling down upon her. Though she hated the soaking dress, it would dry; the physical elements rarely affected spirits for long. Standing and hopping down to the ground, Abeo lifted a hand to wave at the blonde, a friendly toothy grin on her face. “Long time no see, boy~”

One or two more times ought to do it. Since everyone else was working just as hard to combat the fires, if he did that it should be enough to put them out.
Very well, time to draw more seawater. It couldn't be any harder than the first time.
Motion caught the corner of his eye, a person who was clearly not one of the citizens of the city. Delmarsh was one of those towns where everyone could know everyone else. A face that didn't belong was obvious, especially when it was not all unfamiliar. The 19 year old hardened his expression. He could say there was unfinished business with this entity but he had to keep his priorities straight. Parts of Delmarsh were still burning after all.
So the plan remained the same. He took water from the ocean, and guided it towards the fires. This time his handling was a little more wobbly than the last. Abeo was a distraction and this was a use of his powers that was sort of experimental. He forced himself to stay as calm as possible, focused on task but aware of his surroundings lest she try anything.
He wouldn't be surprised if she had something to do with this.

Abeo grinned as she noticed the slight change in his expression. So, did he remember? Either way, his expression and behavior told her that she was in no way a welcomed presence.
It wouldn’t be any fun if she was.
While he continued to focus on his task, the half-Daemon quickly formed a blazing orb of darkness-- her own personal corruption. “It isn't nice to ignore an old friend~” she giggled, a playful smirk on her face.
While he continued to move sea water with his barriers of light, Abeo launched the orb towards his feet, but aimed slightly lower, as to not hit him. She had no intention to hit him with her corruption just yet; she only wanted to break his focus so she could have his attention.

When he lost his concentration the barriers broke. When the barriers broke water went everywhere, falling in a big splash on the area which the barriers were above, onto some houses, onto the street, but mostly onto the pier and over Malik enough that he got soaked, and Abeo probably too.
He glared at her. If he'd looked human before, he was looking increasingly less so. A metallic, glowing quality dominated the tone of his skin, and his eyes burned with their inner fire. (though some degree of these traits had been present when he'd begun fighting the fires) Physically, mentally, and spiritually he was bracing himself in cause he needed to fight."you and I both know you're no friend." He stated, resisting the temptation to attack her in a way far more focused then the messy thing he'd tried when he'd previously encountered the demonic entity. Blair Abeo

Abeo closed her eyes and grinned as a bit of the seawater fell down on her. It was not like was getting any dryer, so she might as well enjoy the splashing waters.
Re-opening her red eyes, she gazed at his bright form while grinning at his words. “Well, that’s a hurtful thing to say,” she said, feigning a small pout on her face before smiling deviously once more. “So what’s new, glitter-man? Did you run from the humans of Sanctuary once you realized you didn’t belong~?” the half-Daemon snickered, folding her hands behind her back.

Malik closed his eyes for a moment. It helped little with the situation around him, but it did focus his emotions. He was still sharply aware his surroundings. If he payed close attention he could tell the town was managing the fires. He could keep helping, but it would be no significant loss if he had to stop. He knew this demon would likely get in his way if he tried.
Fortunately her words didn't get under his skin. His own self-talk had been worse than that. "That's a conflict I already won." He answered sounding like he actually believed it even though he'd had his share of doubts in the past. His sense of belonging didn't hinge on what sanctuary thought of him anymore.
He strode past her, walking along the row of piers. Maybe she'd be less of a problem than he'd actually thought, but he still didn't drop his guard. Likely things would get worse if he ended up frustrating her.

His response was… calm. It seemed she had yet to strike a nerve. Well, patience was a thing, and she could keep it for at least a little while. He walked past her though, not talking any further. So, was that how it was going to be?
“Not going to linger to catch up, hm?” she asked, whipping around and tossing another orb of charged corruption towards his feet. It was aimed lower, as to not hit him full-on, but this time she aimed so it would at least graze him if he did not move. “It isn’t nice to walk away while someone’s trying to have a conversation with ya~”
She took a few steps closer, smiling as she moved towards him. "So how has life in Eokia been treating you? You seem to be a bit different, since we last met," she said with a slight giggle in her childish voice.

Malik didn't move much outside of his decided path. In fact he only needed to adjust slightly in order to not be hit by this next attempt to strike him. Some people wouldn't have even been able to see the change in his steps, though Abeo might if she was used to that sort of thing.
He didn't respond to most of her words as he kept up a steady but easily followable pace. He wasn't exactly running, so he knew Abeo would be able to keep up if she wanted. "I know." he acknowledged the fact that he'd changed without noting any details. No need to actually tell a demon about his experiences. "seems you haven't."He added in a casual way that probably made it seem like he was still ignoring her. Seemed like she was also in a chatty mood... for now.

“Haven’t I?” she chuckled, quickening her steps slightly to trail just behind him. As she was close enough, Abeo released her own subtle corrupting aura, directing it towards the holy being as she walked. If he was not going to humor her, she would humor herself, by trying to plant corruption within him. Subtly at first-- if she were successful, he would not notice right away.
“You’ve grown awfully boring, I must say. Guess we’ll have to fix that~”

He was nearing the edge of the town now. Getting away from Delmarsh would make things easier if there was trouble.
The fact that he was on guard was going to make him difficult to corrupt the light was a passive, but effective barrier to many kinds of manipulation. She'd have to find a way to get him to create an opening, something human that it could latch on to if she wanted it to take root.
If she found him boring, maybe she'd leave him alone if he kept trying at not letting her get to him. Yet it was more likely that she'd keep bugging him. "Boring's good. I'm not here to entertain." he replied continuing the casual sort of ignoring he'd been trying to hold.

"You're right, maybe you're not the kind to entertain. After all, watching that fire back there was much more fun," she said thoughtfully, pausing as he continued walking. "They're getting close to putting the fire out, aren't they? Maybe in round two, I'll give them a run for their money. Let's see if they can put out the next fire~"
Abeo grinned, beginning to turn around, away from Malik. Her hands began to charge with a black flame-- not dragon fire, but her own corrupt, fire. "Want to help me out here, Glitter Man~?"

She would eventually figure out that attacking the terrain would likely get more of a reaction out of him than verbally insulting him wouldn't she? Malik had suspected such might eventually happen.
Malik stopped walking. "There will be none of that." Somehow Malik managed to keep himself calm superficially despite the clear threat, and the fact that he had done nothing to restrain her, yet. "I'll put out the fires." or counter them before they hit, he hoped.

"Oh, sure you will~" Abeo chuckled, continuing to walk forward, away from the partial-holy being. "Our hero!"
The blaze at her hands began to grow, and it only took a matter of heartbeats for the building in front of her to be set ablaze. That fire alone quickly set the neighbor building on fire as well. This time, however, the flames were black in color, and burning with corruption should any durable being draw too near to it. It would stoke anger and hatred in others, and drive some to blind rage or insanity. Chaos, ah, what a beautiful thing.
"Better get going, Glitter Man, before these fires burn and corrupt your home... or your being; whichever comes first," she said, giving a hearty laugh as she gazed at the blonde from over her shoulder. Chaos, sweet chaos.
