Rachel roamed through a city, not trying to be seen. She was a talking kangaroo after all. If one had seen her she would be instantly put to death. What "normal" kangaroos walk around cites anyway? She stepped through the cold, wet, alleys. The weather was cold and cloudy, and rain had been sprinkling. It seemed as on these kind o' days the sky seemed to cry. When she was a child, her parents were killed by the authorities and she was hidden when all of that had happened. These storm clouds had reminded her of her parent death. She continued to walk, until she suddenly heard footsteps behind her.

Sanctuary was home to many, and had a population of billions, most likely. However, in that one city, there was enough entertainment for the Daemon to last a day, so that was precisely where she would choose to linger. The city was a nice urban area, with tall buildings, shiny streets covered in rainwater, loud traffic noises, and low streetlights hanging their heads. She would stay in her human form- with her human identity: Alice Scevidinia.
The sprinkles of water from the sky did not bother the blonde-haired teenager as she continued to make relaxed strides down the roads. However, despite being in human form, her other senses remained heightened, and the fresh scent of strange mammal had yet to be washed away by the rainstorm. Turning her head to peer into a dark alleyway, Alice put her hands in the pockets of her skirt- such lovely things- and narrowed her azure blue eyes at the out-of-place marsupial. "A... kangaroo?" the Daemon murmured, gazing curiously at the creature, who was for some reason wearing a hat. Out of all places to be... why was it here, in Sanctuary? Very curious... was this a trap? Only one way to find out. "Hello~"

Gosh diddly darnit. Rachel thought as she saw the other person say hello to her. She was caught! What would she do? She couldn't have just said "Hi!" because the authorities might've seen her. And what if this girl was part of the authorities? The poor kangaroo didn't know what to do. She couldn't have ran away, because then she would've looked suspicious. But she did look suspicious because she was wandering in the city. She couldn't think of anything. So she just stood there in fear, as still as a statue. She was barely breathing.

BRING THESE WORDS TO LIFE aldora atha + sanctuary + 17 years Goodness, it had been quite rainy lately hadn't it? Aldora looked up at the sky, which was cloudy and rainy. She didn't like the rain; it was too wet and cold, and even though her immune system was practically made of iron she was still at risk of getting sick and she hated getting sick.
The girl was wearing simple black slacks, a charcoal raincoat and held a black umbrella to keep most of the rainfall off of her. She was walking down the sidewalk, excited at the prospect of going home early when she noticed an odd thing in an alleyway she was passing. It was a kangaroo, and a person mumbling something to said kangaroo.
She froze up; were they a smuggler? Were they part of Eden? Gods, she didn't like either option. She closed her umbrella and held it tightly, just in case she needed to use it as a weapon.
"W-what's that? What're you doing?" Aldora asked, her voice wavering slightly. Her parents had been a part of Eden, and they'd died to the Authorities; she didn't trust the Authorities, but she also didn't trust Eden. Both were evil in her opinion.

Whether or not the kangaroo was a part of Eden did not matter. The Daemon felt another presence approaching, and that likely meant trouble. The marsupial was likely either an escaped exotic- and likely illegal- pet or zoo animal, or it was a magic creature of sorts. The hat made Ecclesia guess that it was a pet, but the chances of it being a talking, intelligent animal were also fairly high. The kangaroo kept still, but before the blonde could take another step towards it, a voice sounded from behind. A slightly wavering voice yielding a question made the Daemon turn her back on the smaller mammal to face the person who dared venture near.
The last thing that Ecclesia wanted to deal with was a possible Sanctuary Authority threat. She could only hope that this person was just a simple, everyday citizen who was just passing by. Were things ideal for the Daemon, she could figure out if the kangaroo was intelligent or not, and if so, she could see if it was a member of Eden, or else recruit it to Eden if it was seeking refuge or a place to hide.
"It's a kangaroo, obviously," Ecclesia began, her hands at her sides as she ignored the tiny sprinkles of rain falling from the cloudy sky. "How it got here- I wouldn't know. I assume that it's an escaped exotic pet." A tiny lie, but nothing too big. She threw out one of her theories, but would not dare speak of anything else. She ensured that her own expression was just as puzzled about the appearance of the marsupial, as her demeanor remained as non-confrontational as possible.

abstractreality.boards.net/thread/93/nivs-characters (so you can see the bio if you want) Arden was walking home with some friends, chatting idly about the events of the day under their umbrellas. "No really! Nothing strange happened to me today at all. Actually, this whole week has been peaceful - the most dangerous thing I did was get locked in the attic and escape through a window." Once they reached the cross section, she waved goodbye. She couldn't head the rest of the way home with them since she had promised her mom she'd buy groceries. After a bit more walking, she heard something fall out of her bag, and turned to see her pencil rolling off down an alleyway. She was going to just let it go, but then she remembered it was the only pencil she had left after that incident with the frying pan a few weeks ago. "Dangit!" She muttered, chasing after her precious writing utensil. Just as she as about to catch the darn thing, she saw someone's feet. "Ah!" She skidded to a stop, and would have avoided bumping into them if it weren't for the rain making the ground a bit slippery. "Oh, I am so sorry!" She said to the person if front of her, grabbing the pencil from where it rested against the back of their shoe. "I didn't mean to... run... is that a kangaroo." She said blankly. Yup, here it was! It was completely impossible for her to have a normal week and not expect some kind of crazy thing like this in return. I mean what are the chances of three strangers and a kangaroo ending up in the same alleyway at the same time? Well, at least it would be exciting.

Three humans, one kangaroo. Rachel was now really scared. She couldn't just stand there, so she decided there was one thing to do. Normal kangaroos would do this, wouldn't they? She decided to just slowly hop away, maybe they wouldn't notice her, or... maybe they would. She didn't want to think about being caught by the authorities. She just wanted to get out of the scene, so she wouldn't be spotted by them, or even worse, killed by them. She would just hop slowly... for now. She didn't want to be caught, did she? Just slowly... hopping...

Three was a crowd, for sure. It should have been expected, yet it was still slightly surprising to the blonde. She let out a small gasp as this new girl suddenly bumped into her, but otherwise did not react negatively or violently, which would have been more likely of her in the past. "It's fine," she replied, for once happy to not have bumped into someone, or rather, have someone bump into her, while she was carrying stacks of books or sheet music. At least back then, that had been more characteristic. She opened her mouth to continue speaking, but was distracted by the sudden hopping of the kangaroo.
Naturally with so many humans around, any general 'prey' animal would prefer flight over any possible fight. Nevertheless, the question still lingered in Ecclesia's mind. She did not want the kangaroo to escape... just in case it was not a simple, dumb animal. This could become an entertaining scene, and the bored Daemon did not want that to slip out of her grasp. Too much potential. Then again, she did not want to expose these potential 'ordinary' people to her powers. She had no idea if they were a part of Eden or not, and was not so keen on taking chances right away. She would save that option for later.
As the kangaroo continued to hop, however, the blonde narrowed her sharp, sky-blue eyes at the marsupial and the place where she was about to step. The Daemon had barely any skill at use of elemental powers; most of her abilities were spiritual or mental. Nevertheless, she would attempt to use the element that she had at least a tiny ounce of skill with: ice. Focusing on the area where the kangaroo was about to step, Ecclesia attempted to ever so subtly generate a patch of black ice there. Hopefully, it would go unnoticed by the two other suspected humans nearby, but be enough to maybe have the kangaroo fall, and provoke a reaction. Fun~
