The water from a re-routed stream pored down into the scar from which draco had dug himself. it seemed the tribe lands would need to be made livable once more.
Due to the blessing of hands and bipedal movement, brush had elected a human-like form as she worked at the edge of the hole, clearing out debris, and looking for a safe way to seal it all off. She could have flown down, but the most danger was to the non-flying residents so working from such an impersonal view didn't seem right.
Her slender hands picked up a large piece of shattered wood. There had been some trees here before. The wood was still almost alive, but such shattered things could not be saved.
The approach of someone else was not noticed until his chest bumped into brush's back. Brush turned around to look and see who it was. It was not expected but also no surprise. The handsome face looking down at her was nearly a mirror of her own in dragon form, but with a red mane and no markings. The chest was uncomfortable however for the mostly furry dragon had metallic plating on his chest and legs. Roughly speaking it was a form of grown in armor, not quite akin to scales but similar. The dragon was one she knew. The wood was dropped and she stood and turned and hugged him.
The next thing she knew brush was reduced to tears. "Daddy why..." She cried but left the phrase unfinished. There was no actual need to speak what was on her mind. He knew already didn't he? Brush might not be here doing this if her mind wasn't stuck still on what had happened during the battle. While often mature and composed after all that had happened it was just too easy to want to cry.
She didn't really know what to do anymore. The tribe was in shambles. A dragon she had known, respected and admired was ...gone. And the rest of the lands had problems which she wished that she could help fix. They really needed someone who knew what they were doing, and that person wasn't brush.

After a few minutes, light footsteps can be heard behind Brush, and an occasional complaint about the innumerable splinters reaches her ears. "Ow ow ow ow... Why are there so many broken trees around here? Why did you lead me here of all places? I don't see my ship around here..." Einaku's complaints were almost relentless if not for the sudden sharp pain in his ankle. "OW! Maybe you could have warned me about all of this?!"

The large dragon glanced at the small Alien with an expression of bored annoyance as clear as if had had simply spoken 'oh you're still around.' But of course he wasn't surprised. "Be glad you didn't see the war that hit Eokia near Akuzeth." The large dragon explained. "This child and I were near the area at the time. Since then we've been busy. The chance to come here only recently presented itself. That the damage would be so bad, I didn't foresee" yet in shadow's tone there was no shock or surprise. He'd definitely known things would look bleak right now.
Shadow turned, using the side of his tail to guide brush away from the edge of the scar on the earth. Shadow could tell by her stiffening against him moments before that she had recognized that someone else had shown up, and that it was someone she didn't know. "Brush, this is An Alien from another world. Einaku, meet my daughter Brush." The fact that she was humanoid right now meant that brush didn't look much like shadow but there was still a resemblance between the two, and something telling about the gentleness with which the male guided her.
Brush used a hand to wipe some of the tears from her eyes and look at the strange small bipedal creature ahead. She still seemed upset about this scene and therefore didn't do anything else to acknowledge Einaku but to look at him for the moment.
"You two wait up here." Shadow instructed. "I need to look for a few things of Draco's" shadow explained before going ahead and climbing down into the hole. There were some things he wanted to find before the treasure seekers and magical item questers eventually ended up finding the horde that the old dragon had kept. It would happen eventually. While the tribe land had been in tact things had been fine. Now it was really only a matter of time.
Brush watched her father go down into the scar, but didn't follow. She turned back towards Einaku and watched him for a bit longer in silence.

"You're...not really in the mood for talking, it seems. Anyway, my name is Einaku, and I am the head engineer of the Raikira, as well as a member of the pack that crews it, of the same name. It's...a pleasure to meet you...?" Einaku offers a hand in an attempt to elicit a handshake or some sort of response other than an uncomfortable stare.

Naturally that made little sense to brush, however she did not ask for clarification. she was slightly hesitant to handshake as it was not a natural gesture for brush, but she still understood the gesture, so she took the offered hand. She didn't feel like saying much. She was still upset over the developments of the attack on Eokian soil. Some kind of response was required. "as my dad said, I'm called brush." she said quietly. "forgive me for my bad form," she severed eye contact, and looked towards the ground. "a lot happened."

"I'm sorry, I had no idea this was a site of combat," Einaku's four ears drooped. "By the way, Shadow said something earlier about me not being able to fix my ship until I left Eokia... Do you know why that is?"

Brush had a standard idea for what a ship was. It went in the water, and often had sails so the wind could push it along, however that might not be the kind of ship Einaku was thinking of. There were other kinds of ships for example airships, magical and non. Brush had only seen the magical kind in person. The non magical kind appeared in some of the books she had read. "If dad said you couldn't, it could be for lots of reasons. What sort of ship is it?" She'd need clarification. Hopefully it would not be to much technical jargon.

Einaku rubbed the back of his head and explained, "You know about those points of light you see in the sky, you might call them stars? Those stars are supposed to be several light years apart from each other, and my ship is designed to travel in the space between those stars faster than light by shifting space around it with the help of something called a frame shift drive. I crash landed here after that frame shift drive suddenly failed and fell out of light speed just in time for me to come tumbling down to this planet's surface. For some reason, I'm not able to fix any of it because of two things. One, Shadow said it just wouldn't work, and two, Shadow just transported it to some undisclosed location."

Brush turned thoughtful. "Well stuff like that's possible here. Its just the means to the end that matters." She explained. "If your ship runs on magic, it would be an easy fix. If it doesn't, the magic in area interferes with the higher technologies. Even getting something simple humans made like electric lighting to work consistently can be difficult."

"I don't think anything really 'runs' on magic. Magic is just science that has yet to be properly explained. Maybe it's some sort of electromagnetic field that's messing with it?"

Her tree was... Okay... But as she had suspected, many of its roots were broken, adding to the splinters around. A tunnel had collapsed, but Rose found that her will to dig it out, something that had never suited her body, was next to nothing. Possibly, she would find the inclination later. She emerged from under her tree, trying to be careful of debris, gently picking her way through. Bottomless eyes spotted her friends, and she felt herself hesitate, though she had likely already been seen. It was not hard to pick out a white dragon amoung the broken forest...
She did not particularly want to go back over the battle. She did not wish to even think of it. Thorn slept in her mind, and for once her shadow was not watchful. He had used their power and shown his battle-readiness, even when she herself was never ready to take lives as he had... Shame bubbled in her chest, but she was really a bit old to be ashamed by something her brother had done... surely... The thought did not stop her feelings as they were. "Hello Brush." Rose smiled but lacked her usual enthusiasm. "And... Hello... sir." She gave the newcomer a smile too, interested but also visibly worn out. Looking down at someone was a tad strange, but he was a little over half her height.

"AH!" Einaku yelped as he nearly jumped out of his skin. "Don't sneak up on me like that, my nerves are frayed enough as it is!" He paused and then added "And who are you supposed to be?" after crossing his arms.

She jumped at his jump, blinking softly. "Sorry... I had no intention of sneaking up, I assure you. I'm Winter Rose under Cold Moon, but you can call me Rose. Everyone does... You are..?" She hesitated. "I think I heard you talking about magic before. What is the issue?" Her tail gave a gentle flick, her wings gently spreading, moving debris from around her into a pile to her side so she could settle comfortably where she stood. She looked between the newcomer and Brush curiously. She was always interested in hearing about the things magic was up to.

"No, there's real wild magic. Scolars have ideas and theories about it, but everyone agrees that it doesn't match with sciences, interferes with some of them, and at times even has a mind of its own." Brush explained with conviction. "And some things here do run on it, managed by someone who knows what they're doing." Brush felt that she knew what she was talking about. She came into regular contact with magical things and she'd seen or heard about scientific things as well. "But the point is, with the magical interference, your ship probably wouldn't work right, and if it was made to work right here, it might not work right back home." She insisted on clarifying this before she checked on rose though the female had sensed rose's approach.
"Hi rose. That's Einaku, My dad's here too. He went looking forsome things." Brush explained in short sentences. "i've been trying to explain why some technologies don't work here."

"Aw, what kind of backward way of thinking actually considers science and magic to not be the same thing..." Einaku muttered under his breath. "If I was given an actual chance to figure out exactly what went wrong, I could easily fix it with the right tools. Say, you wouldn't know where Shadow might have shoved it away, would ya?"
