Phanuel When the war came to a close, and destruction and disarray was all that remained, the Heavens were thrown into a panic. The brazen attack by the demonic hordes of Necropolis was surprising, to say the least. Empyrea chocked it up to them being emboldened by the lack of angelic presence on Earth.
That was why Phanuel descended. She was given news of the attack, and watched from afar in her chambers. Her Lord, Rael, had been very clear in the orders given: 'go to the human settlement of Sanctuary and take observations of the calamity'.
Normally, the mission would be done by lesser beings, but she was told that the gravity of the attack in Sanctuary was much greater due to the context of its civilization.
Still, it mattered not to her. No, the humans would simply have to get over it - she was on a mission, after all.
With that ultimatum in mind, she appeared in the skies of a Sanctuarian city, shining brightly like the being of light that she was. Her descent to the streets was rather silent, but ostentatious in its appearance. Behind her were three angels, two with blades and one with a spear. They were not as grand as she, a being who stood at nearly twelve feet in height compared to their nine.
Still, she looked as though she were a woman, sans the glowing skin and eyes.
Without a word, she held out a hand for the group to disperse and collect energy while she would do the same.
This was done in plain view, as Phanuel didn't have the time to shield herself and maintain glamour for the panicking masses. Work had to be done. Empyrean angel True Neutral | Ageless | Genderless

Non Player Character Mr. Sirio "No need, Mr. Dio. We have our own equipment," he said. Just as he finished his statement, Kyla and Grant finished opening the boxes. They gave their boss a thumbs up, who in turn nodded to them. Malik's whispering did not go unnoticed by Sirio. "Did not sign up for what, my friend?" He asked with a cold smile. "Is there something you're hiding from us?"He shook his head at the two boys. "Ah, no matter. Our deal is done. Mr. Kyla?" At that moment, Kyla walked over to the two males with a case. Opening it, he revealed that there was money within. "Thank you for doing business with us," Sirio said. Turning on his heel, he made his way back to the car. And, from the back of the second truck came out seven more armed bodyguards, all of them pointing their weapons at Malik and Dio. Dusk Dusk's eyes widened as the deal closed. That case that Sirio was giving them had something on it, from what her scope was telling her.
A trigger. It was a trigger of some kind.
Oh, God. Those boys were set up. She knew it. She knew that this wasn't going to be good.
Her fears were answered when gunman emerged from the truck, ready to gun down the two grifted males.
"No you don't," Dusk whispered to herself angrily. She tapped on the screen of the computer on her arm, activating the drone that was stationed there.
The result was a smokescreen that filled the area.
The men pointing guns were obviously disoriented, apparent from their yells and Sirio's orders to open fire.
The smokescreen, however, would give Dio and Malik some time to book it out of the area if they needed to. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female

Amitiel Amitiel took the time following the teleportation to attack the enemy angel. Her wings emerged before she dashed forward to deliver close-ranged strikes of light energy down upon the Avenger.
Each attack was aimed at center mass, attempting to damage the lesser-known core of the Empyrean assassin.
She knew that it wouldn't be enough to take down an Avenging Angel, but perhaps it could scare him into fighting defensively.
Unfortunately, that hypothesis wasn't correct. Empyrean Angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless Non Player Character Avenging Angel Vessa's sudden disappearance didn't shake the Avenger. It was to be expected - the being was in charge of maintaining a domain for herself, of course she would be swift enough to dodge. The needles, however, caught him off guard. They bore into his legs, but caused no visible pain or slowing in his movements. Instead, it turned to the position it predicted Vessa would go. Of course, it was behind him. That was a very typical strategy in battle. It lifted its blade to block the beam, reflecting it away from himself. Still, he found himself double-teamsed when Amitiel bore down on him. The angel's own attacks were a bit effective, but the avenger was able to send the angel flying away with a well-timed beam of light that threw Amitiel into the sky. A few slashes bore down on Vessa, aiming to try and separate her head from her body.

Kenessa Well, it was readily apparent to Kenessa that Shiren didn't understand what she was saying. The kid was, apparently, either young or uneducated. Or both.
Gods, this was painful. What did she get herself into?
"Ah... me, Kenessa. You, wet and cold," she said slowly to Shiren. "Give you umbrella. Um-brel-la," in retrospect, that was extremely patronizing and probably insulting, but she wasn't really in the mood to be a nice lady.
She was already loaning an umbrella to some vagrant - why complicate things more by acting like some saintly priestess?
Still, there was one question that needed to be asked. "Where, family? Family?" Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female

Dusk When the fighting began, Dusk had taken aim. Stealth wasn't going to be an option, it seemed, so it seemed that she would be forced to deal with the action going on below.
A few shots rang out from her gun, instantly downing two of the mages with well-placed headshots. That got the attention of a third, whom she had barely missed due to a protective aura around them.
Spells were slung her way, and Dusk was on the move. Taking out her sidearm, she opened fire at the protected mage, finally finding her mark when the shield disrupted from taking too much damage.
Fukami falling caught her attention, and Dusk was quick to help. She leapt from the side of the cliff and deployed a device to the side. Then, she turned to shoot a tiny, glowing chip-like object that embedded itself on a rock formation.
What resulted was a wire of light that angled downward. Dusk made to grind down the wire, accelerating as she continued.
The wire would be positioned in such a way that Fukami could catch herself. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Fukami Tsukikage

Non Player Character Avenging Angel The angel had been silent, pondering over its next course of action. Vessa's words, they may have rang true. The things they were doing was pugilistic; a punitive measure that was made necessary by their highers. And yet, the Avenger could not help but take Vessa's words as a personal attack, as well. The angel was still quiet as it connected its mind with Empyrea, asking for guidance. What was received was a very clear, very succinct order: "annihilate them both". The angel flared its energy as it prepared its attack. Amitiel had done the same, giving confirmation that the enemy angel would not go quietly. Its eyes flickered to Vessa, who seemed to be protecting Amitiel. She would be the first to go. In a blinding speed, its blade was drawn, and its wings spread out to its fullest, mighty span. The energy coming from the Avenger was formidable - as to be expected of a heavenly assassin. In the next instant, it rushed at Vessa, swinging its blade sideways to try and cleave into both her and Amitiel at the same time.

Amitiel Everything was now put into perspective for Amitiel. Whatever feelings of wariness she may have held for Vessa were diminished the moment those words were said.
This being did not condemn Amitiel. She did not feel as though Amitiel wasn't worth protecting. Vessa reminded her so much of the Empyrean Lord that once saved her a few years ago.
With this in mind, the angel turned to its former brethren. "Avenger... I'm sorry. But, you are not welcome here. Go elsewhere, or face retaliation."
Still, the Avenger did not move. However, his energy began to flare. Anyone who knew a higher being's temperament would understand what that meant; the Avenger was ready to fight.
And, thus, Amitiel too flared her own energy. "We shall take this battle elsewhere..."

Dusk Dusk listened to Fukami's assessments closely. It was clear that she understood how their actions would affect the overall mission. This wasn't surprising, considering the briefing told her exactly that about her partner.
Still, the latter's preference was showing. "I'm sensing that you want to go with option two," Dusk replied immediately after assessing her words. "We don't know anything about the vulnerability of the magestone, so that would b-"
She was interrupted by a beep; her drone had finished its scanning of the area, and gave her the information she needed.
She reported it to Fukami. "Twenty-eight active hostiles, four with at least B-class energy," she said. "Ten are unknown."
Those numbers meant that stealth wouldn't be too prudent here. There weren't enough of them to warrant a more safe, shadowy approach.
Still, that magestone would be a big threat.
Closing her screen, she drew her sniper rifle from her back. "I'll cover you from the back."
Fukami's preferred way it was, then. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Fukami Tsukikage

Kenessa What even brought Kenessa to this place?
Ah, right, a pawn that promised way more than it delivered on. She had found something during one of her many, ah hem, expeditions, and found it less than lustrous for her tastes. She thought it pretty ugly, and thus had it pawned off to some buyer.
Needless to say, it didn't do well. Now, here she was, walking in the rain. At least she had an umbrella with her - one of the many things on her belt that she never left without.
Her mood was a little sour from the pocket change she got from it, and she was set to walk by all of the people trudging their way in the rain.
That is, until she saw some little girl standing alone in the rain. Probably homeless. Not her problem.
She tried to keep walking. It wasn't any of her business.
Closing her eyes, she sighed. Her day was shot, but it didn't mean that she was the only person under duress. That girl didn't even look like she had good clothes.
No, it was none of her business!
And, even with that thought in her mind, her body turned to walk toward the little girl. She stood next to Shiren for a second, holding the umbrella over her.
"Why don't you have on your galoshes, tyke?" Kenessa asked the kid. "Can't you see the absolute rip out here? The sky's gonna eat you whole." Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female

Amitiel The demon latching onto his leg was a good enough distraction for Hadraniel, but it didn't feel great for Amitiel.
The latter had been thrown the sky, and struggled to reorient themselves. This demon was powerful - not overly so, but definitely stronger than the garden-variety. That meant that Amitiel would need to up his game against it.
Smokey's second head came at him once more, prompting an immediate response. He rocketed toward the head, transforming into what could only be described as a 'bullet' of light that made to pierce through the neck of Smokey's head.
When they came from the bullet, they would be in full view of Hadraniel, but paid the other angel no heed as he surveyed his damage done. Empyrean angel Neutral Good | Ageless | Genderless

Non Player Character Smoke Demon The second wave of flames were deftly maneuvered around, the demon roaring as it attempted once more to ensnare Hadraniel in its jaws. It would find itself blown away by a ray of light from the other angel on the field. When it turned back to Amitiel, who had taken to getting the other head off of Hadraniel rather than protect himself, it took advantage of the moment of distraction. It's other head grabbed the leg of the angel, swinging it in the air before hefting Amitiel out of view. This gave the Smoke Demon a bit of time to turn back to Hadraniel. However, this momentary change in attention would cost it, as the angel no doubt had time to attack once more.

Kenessa Kenessa's eyes were shut tight when the medical crew started to come. She heard the explosions, but paid them no heed when the pain started to spread.
As they started to work on her there, she looked up to see where Jin was. "You okay, guy?" She asked in a strained voice. He didn't look worse for wear at all. That made her calm down. "Gods. Lucky I was here, arentcha?"
Of course, she was also quite lucky that Jin was here to call for the medical personnel. Planeswalking human True Neutral | 31 | Female

Avatar of Magog The effort to evacuate the citizens of Sanctuary seemed to be going swimmingly.
Guess it was time to put a stop to that.
From seemingly out of nowhere, a number of the citizens would begin convulsing. Some of them latched onto one another, and one by one, many began to... change.
Their bodies grew blue, glowing veins, their eyes glowed, and their actions turned malicious. Some began to grab and rip at many of those evacuating. Those whom were grabbed would, too, find themselves transformed.
It was a horrifying sight, to say the least.
At the center of it all stood a monstrous being, towering over them at nearly ten feet of height. Its body was pitch black, and its wide maw glowed with an otherwordly energy. It bore six powerful arms and spikes that seemed to move on its back.
To many, it would look as if it were simply a regular demon. To those whom were versed in dealing with those kinds of beings, however, they would realize that this adversary was far more than that.
Still, for the masses unaware of the things that occurred within the world of the supernatural, this would look to be as if the Devil himself emerged upon them.
Although it was great and terrible, mindless it was not. No, the beast had an agenda; find the ones in charge of this operation and deliver upon them the plague of Corruption.
Lieutenant Kelly happened to be the first unlucky soul in its sight. With a roar, the being leapt at the soldier, aiming to cleave into his body with one of its gigantic claws. corrupted evil | unknown | male Archangel Amitiel The Archangel's might apparently knew no ally. Amitiel was partially blinded in righteous anger, taking to destroying the evil creatures that surrounded them.
Beams of light erupted from around the angel, tearing into the hordes that approached them and Mohanchor; shattering echoes of angered power ripped through the skies, disorienting the ones who dared to think advance. This was no simple angel they were facing.
No, they were facing one of Empyrea's mightiest weapons, unleashed and ready to combat the evils of the demonic scourge.
And still, the Archangel could not see the damage they were causing until they looked down. Mohanchor was hurt. A brief flash of white hot anger surged through them once more, and the air began to heat around the being before another wave of light was sent down upon the demons.
How dare they attack this man; this person who wished only to protect his people? As a Cherub, it was Amitiel's job to guard and bolster those kinds of people.
It didn't occur to them that Mohanchor was hurting because of the celestial energy being so indiscriminately released. No, that couldn't be true - their power could not destroy beings of good, after all. And, Mohanchor was a good being.
Yes, that was it. It had to be the demons. It had to be.
That was Amitiel's reasoning as they continued. The Angel would attempt to reach down to hold Mohanchor, so as to cradle him. Drown him in their light, so that he may feel its warmth.

Kenessa The hand that was outstretched to Jin's was immediately placed on his chest. "Get down!" Kenessa yelled.
The clicking sound of the bomb being placed was a sound she was very used to hearing. In fact, it was such a regular occurrence that she had a very quick and natural reaction to it.
That reaction being, get the hell out of the area.
And, that's exactly what she did, reaching up to grab the males shirt and activating her ability.
They would immediately find themselves a fair distance away from the safehouse, plopped down onto the ground. They were out of the blast radius in an instant.
For Kenessa, she lie clutching her injury. "Fuck!" She yelled, curling into herself. The burning sensation of the wound intensified, leaving her shaking a bit. "What in the hell is this?! God damnit!! Who tried to fucken off us?!"
