The nature of the paranormal is inherently illogical when taken into account by all modern forms of science. At least, that is what we are told. It is common knowledge that all forms of mathematical application are incapable of properly quantifying the paranormal. However, this is not the fault of the science.
When studying the paranormal, one must first be capable of observing and isolating common elements. While lofty, these observations are key to understanding everything.

Supernatural Science and Paraphysics is a field of science that exists within Sanctuary and all related places. The field was revolutionized, but not founded, by the Enforcer scientists named Ashia Nguyen and Kanu Ithica decades ago. Together, they allowed the field paraphysics to grow.

There are a number of interdisciplinary fields in Paraphysics, all being very wide fields of study. It is unlikely that any person has a full knowledge of more than one field, let alone all of them.- Auraphysics, the study of magical energies and their innate existence around beings who utilize magic.
- Metaphysics, the study of the multiverse's astral planes, as outlined by the metaphysicist Yuki Iza.
- Astraphysics, the study of astral entities and their interactions within and outside of their own planes.
- Parachemistry, the study of physical beings utilizing magic on a chemical level.
- Parabiology, the study of physical beings utilizing magic on a biological level.
- Enchantometry, the empirical study of remote matter imbued with magical properties, physically distinct from any source.

There are a number of classifications used to differentiate types of magic from one another. The study of these classifications are used in sub-disciplines, each having their own set of core philosophies and mathematical models.- Elementalism, the measure of effects that target classical elements or the fundamental interactions.
- Spiritual, the measure of effects that are spiritual.
- Astral, the measure of effects that are astral.
- Quantum, the measure of effects that target spacetime, whether implicitly or explicitly.
- Chemical, the measure of effects that alter chemical makeup in the physical universe.
- Biological, the measure of effects that alter biological makeup in the physical universe.

Notable figures of importance in the field of paraphysics.- Dr. Yuki Iza, eccentric metaphysicist who founded the Abstract Guide of Astral Planes. Known for an obsession with percussive instruments.
- Dr. Tatsu Kaze, enigmatic parabiologist who was able to derive the Commonality of Land-Based Paranormal Animals principle. Known to be a skilled artist with an obsession with animals.
- Dr. Vy Tzuch, haggard enchantometrist who helped pave the way to incredible leaps in harnessing anti-magic technology. Obsessed with computers and games.
- Dr. Corvicus Crowbeak II, curious parabiologist who worked with Dr. Kaze. Derived the Crowbeak Theory principle. Said to have seen over 5000 species of birds in his lifetime, and changed his name once he did.
- Dr. Sifr Cero, a mercurial elementometrist and parachemist who founded the Anti-Mage Paradigm of engineering. Spoke fluent binary and wrote many notes in hexadecimal.
