at first, everything had been dark, and she had alone. completely by herself, in the burning pits of somewhere that burned her mind to even think of. she remembered the fires that had raged, the torture her soul had gone through, and how she had split into two parts, one of them not entirely her but still. . . a part of her. she recollected how she had finally freed herself, escaping from the chains and unfurling her wings in order to slip into the depths of the night unnoticed. and now, she was here. she was safe.
well well well, she had arrived. her paws touched down, wings folding to press against her back as she took in the scenery. it made her ache with loneliness, the way no one was around to greet her right away. she missed everyone back home. she wanted to know if they were okay while she was off on her journey to find her loved ones - because she knew they weren't really dead. they were just. . . hiding from her. weren't they?
"hello? someone's there, right?" the pale coyote asked, her voice raised in question. the sheer loneliness made her nervous, anxious. it made her think of the place she had been, and that wasn't a place she wanted her memory to stray back to.

The stir in the air sent a cold chill down the purple dragon's spine. Despite the temperature usually being quite hot in the tribe's wasteland territory, even the slightest breeze and sudden slight thermal change could be noticed by the keen creatures nearby. The fresh smell of something alive touched the leader's nose as she began to walk towards that general direction, with both tails lingering behind her in a relaxed manner. Was this prey that was nearby, or perhaps a lost stranger? Ever since coming to this new land, Tsubomi was still attempting to find her bearings. Things were so familiar, yet also so new. Thunder Castle and the old mountainous territory was gone, having been long behind them. The jungle of the quetzalcoatl's? Just a nightmare from the past, but no more than a memory. What was before her blazing red eyes was reality, and that was the only thing she could bother to be concerned with, for now. After all, she had a group to lead and protect, and that burden was enough to drive the weaker being on its own.
"I'm here," the mammalian dragon said upon hearing the voice speak up. The five-foot tall creature eyed the other winged animal warily, yet showed no real emotion on her face. "Who are you, stranger?" Tsubomi asked curiously, not yet ready to introduce herself until the other creature made itself and its purpose known first.

that was the question, wasn't it? who was she without aly, without the other half of her heart here to guide her and comfort her. of course, nobody else could tell she was so torn up about leaving the clans she had once led to be somewhere new, somewhere less burdened with memories of creatures that no longer existed. aly knew.
her eyes surveyed the land before her, head tilted to the side. it was warm here, almost uncomfortably so, but she liked it. loved it, actually. 'what do you think, aly? do you like this place, too? would you join me here and live with me?' she thought to her wife, a look of whimsicality coming to rest in her blue optics at the simple thought of her lover. a gentle smile lit her features at the answer: 'of course, ev'
evergreen was happy with the response, and she let her gaze - still slightly restless - alight on this stranger. the other had an air of authority, but also seemed tired. her soul looked dimmer than most, as if she had been through terrible hardship in the past few months or weeks. she had no way of knowing for sure, of course, but she had a knack for being intuitive. when the female spoke to her, ev's anxiety spiked once more. 'aly, can i do this? are you sure i can do this? i know we've been through a lot worse, but i still get really nervous whenever i join someplace. what if she kicks me out?'
a brief laugh, amused, and the aly spoke up again in ev's head. 'ever, it's fine, okay? you'll do great. you've always been my little ballerina.' she reassured her spouse.
so, the graceful coyote drew herself up to her full height and spoke softly but imbued with purpose. "thanks for coming. my name's evergreen wraith. i'd like to join this place, if you don't mind."

So soon in this new world, and word of their existence was already being spread. The group was strong and sturdy- and in this odd realm, perhaps that was something that others sought out as well. Tsubomi stared curiously at the coyote as she spoke. Evergreen Wraith... a different name, no doubt, but a nice one, at that, she noted. This place? Well, hopefully the winged coyote at least knew the name of the group. "My name is Tsubomi Sartaq. I'm the leader of the Tribe of Ancient Stones... I have no issue with you joining, as long as you can earn your keep," the mammalian dragon stated in her expressionless manner. Not much emotion was laced into her voice. It was stated as bluntly and casually as it could have been, as it was the truth. After all, no triber had any intention of keeping a slacker in their ranks for long.
