- karube wandered through crowds of people, amazed by the silent harmony. people weaved past, moving in and out stores, and offices, and apartments, karube felt like she was a part of something bigger.
'how quaint,' she thinks, bumping into someone's shoulder who mutters a simple apology. karube ignored it. late night lights dazzled her sights, and a small smile was brought to her lips.
"mama would be amazed..." karube trailed, and thoughts drifted to her rough-and-tough neighborhood, her cousins, and girls who felt like her sisters, siblings, people who she thought of as family. she was the only one that made it out. the loved ones and hated, and the lied to. huh.
'funny, really,' karube thinks, stopping in front of a boutique, she admires a lovely dress. her hands press against the shop's glass, standing up on her tip-toes to get a better look. It was gorgeous, but she couldn't spend, not now. she was saving up, for something, special. she didn't know what, yet. turning away from the boutique, she began to walk back down the road in contented silence.

Malik had finally gotten a new job offer and was coming home from an interview. He wasn't in a hurry. The past several days had been rough, the most excitment he'd had since he'd cut himself off emotonally from his poor hometown. He'd moved away since his mother's death, but if almost felt like trouble had been following him. His former workplace had been collapsed in a demonic attack, some weird magic user broke into his apartment, but took nothing, and he'd been caught with an old 'friend' in some kind of 'deal' which had almost gotten the both of them killed by men with guns. It was pretty tame here and now in comparison so he was glad to take it slow.
He saw someone he thought he recognized looking at a dress in a storefront window. If he learned from his mistake with Dio, the one which had almost gotten him killed, he should probably ignore people who he thought looked familiar. The girl was either someone who he knew or if not from the same town he'd come from, a type of personality he'd known. The dark skinned male studied the female for a moment before deciding that it was better to move on. He didn't want to invite more trouble into his life.
