❖ MALIK YOUNG
For some reason, it was a holiday. People always did need their pocket of carnival. It wasn't terrible timing. The city was recovering quickly from the demonic attack that most citizens had already forgotten. Reclaiming the destroyed parts was already well under way as construction crews cleared and rebuilt on damaged land to make spaces people could live and work.
Malik too didn't have work today. He could have chosen to work, but the chance to take off actually seemed worth while for the dark male. Tomorrow he'd have to do as assigned, and search for new jobs as his current one was only taking advantage of a quickly healing situation, but today he hoped for normalcy, no magic or powers or creatures that shouldn't be. Of course he was one of the latter, but the male had been trying a new approach to keep his abilities out of sight and under control. He didn't know how long it would actually work, but he thought he could go out without fear of an incident where he did something without intending.
He went to the park. The state managed green space had not been hit hard. The day was nice enough that he didn't need a jacket, and there were actually people out on the paved trails enjoying the weather. Since today was a holiday of sorts. there were artists out too, tabling to sell functional craft items, and things made just to look pretty. Some stage had been set up where musicians had been invited to play, and there were food stalls as well.
For a moment, Malik just walked around, loosely following the flow of the crowd. He'd had a friend who might have enjoyed this, before she'd disappeared without a trace.
The male stopped at one of the tents to browse. The art being sold was a mix of wood wire and glass, arranged in patterns that reflected cosmic arrangements, orbits, galaxies and the like. Most were hanging or suspended by wire. They were interested. If he'd had someone to give one too he might have considered it for a gift.
