❖ KOHAKU
A quick sweep across the room allowed the woman to check that she had all she needed as her off white hair shortened and styled itself into a complex but appropriately fancy braid, and turned into a cocoa powder brown with a streak of its original creamy white. Her skin was just a shade darker. She picked up a real, wide brimmed hat and swept in on her head. A check in the mirror on the wall in the spacious room led her to believe she'd look better in red. Her dress too was real, but she easily transformed the forest green pigment into a glittering crimson just by the fact that she wanted it so. Her flat shoes became short heels to match. She donned a well tailored coat as well. She stretched out an arm, the limb becoming noodle-like for a moment to sweep through the handle of a small handbag which held money and documents, and best of all tickets to a classical symphony which was quite acclaimed.
She was about to leave the room when the landline phone rang. She took one step and grabbed it up, bringing it to her ear.
"Hello?"
"You seriously can't come?"
"Fine, I'll hand your ticket to some sorry sap who can't appreciate quality music"
"...."
"I get it, I get it. I'll see you in two weeks."

She set the phone back on the hook, and swept out of the room, locking the door behind her. She went down many floors by elevator, nodding at the security personnel at the desk as she departed the building. He'd nod back. Exchange of words was not necessary.
She walked out onto the busy street. There were people on the sidewalks, but cars were more thick on the roads. Should she take a taxi. It was certainly tempting, and better than tolerating the fume filled city. She had money enough to cover the outrageous fees drivers pulled on their clients, yet even if she could afford to be frivolous, she was careful with the excess with which she favored.
Since she decided to go with it. Her garb was inappropriate for walking all the way to the symphony hall. Now that she was outside there was no changing her appearance choices. There were few places where she could do so without attracting notice. It certainly wasn't worth while going back to her suite when anticipating the delays which would come with entering the crowded hall which was her destination.
Sliding into the passenger seat of the taxi, she simply told the driver. "Benedum Hall." It would be a few miles ride.
Made longer than it ought due to the traffic, the woman finally exited the vehicle and paid the fare for the trip without complaint. She looked around. Thriving was the best word for this place as avid musical fans swarmed by the great swinging doors that marked the entrance of the place. Not all were in the area for fine music. Just across the street was a bar, fancy shopping, and quality dining. The night life was able to thrive here. By the time her evening show was ended, the neon lights would be up, and the nocturnal crowed would be well on their way to their milk and honey. If only her girlfriend (in the non-romantic sense some ladies use) could have come to experience it all with her. She had no qualms about being solitary but she'd been hoping for an experience which she could share.
Oh well. The female trotted towards those doors, occasionally scanning for someone she could offer her spare ticket to, but not really serious a out giving it away.
