YURICK There was a giant crowd surrounding the dock. Yurick looked down below as he entered the ship. This was the first time Yurick had ever gone on a trip on his own, as he was able to convince his parents that he was old enough to go. He got in and handed his pass over to a guard, who gave then him his key card.
Yurick went up the elevator and looked at each door in the hallway, and eventually found his room. He slid the card in and opened the door, revealing a small but comfy room. He dropped his suitcase and ran towards the balcony to find a breathtaking view sniffed the fresh air as the ship blew its horns and left the dock. Yurick jumped onto his bed and decided to take a nap before anything else, as he woke up very early to get to the ship on time.
Just after a half hour, he got up, thinking where he should go first. He decided to check out the top deck, which contained several things to do. He walked upon the deck, looking around wondering what he should do. He approached the railing and looked upon the ocean, watching how the waves jump and crash. He never saw anything like it. It was wonderful.

Someone was already there on the deck. She wore baggy clothing, and could almost be mistaken for a boy except for her fine facial features. Curly red hair, cropped short but still neck-length caught in the wind created by the moving ship, as the owner's cloudy gaze traced the vague line of city, which grew more distant with each passing moment. She gripped the railing tightly, knuckles nearly white, while an observant eye might notice her posture was more on the stiff side. Was it fear of being seabound? seasickness or something that lent to her uneasy posture? She might say if she was asked, but wasn't one to start conversation herself.

YURICK Even though there were so many things to do, he just couldn't choose. He then decided to just try each thing one by one. He started with a "Throw the Ball at the Bottle to Win" game. He threw his first round, but missed. This caused the ball to ricochet off the wall, landing in his left eye. He ended up with a black eye and sighed.
To get rid of the stress from the impact, he decided to walk further along the deck. He spotted someone who seemed quite nauseous. Yurick decided he could help that person, as an act of productivity. He walked towards the person and went up to the railing next to them. He couldn't tell the if they were male or female, so he didn't know what to really say.
As he looked at the water, he said, "You okay? You look pretty sick, and lonely." He hoped it would be a good way to start off a conversation, as he wanted to try socializing with them.

Jessie glanced over at the boy, but kept her grip firm on the railing for now. She looked him over, judging by his appearance as to what kind of person she thought he might be. He seemed, at least to be not of the sort always up to no good, though appearances never told the whole story. She felt comfortable enough to speak to him.
"I'm not used to being on the water." she admitted carefully, not entirely comfortable with speaking civilly, as she was used to having to defend herself and hide such vulnerabilities, but there was no one out to get her here. "I'm usually not on my own either, but I kinda didn't have a choice." she sounded more confident about being alone than she actually felt. It wasn't a kind of company Yurick could remedy either, so she was resigned to dealing with it for now.
