"Hey Young. Long time no see” came a friendly voice from behind. The young man being addressed stopped walking on his way to the library. He had been intending to do some personally important research, but Malik knew instantly that those plans might as well be thrown in the fireplace for how well they would end up completed today.
In the next moment a Lanky arm was around his shoulders, as the taller male loosely leaned on Malik. “Yo Dio, What’s up?” Malik greeted. His tone was not enthusiastic. Dio was not a friend.
“Man, I need your help.” Dio began, proving to Malik, that there was something he was after. It came as no surprise, when since grade school Dio had been getting help from class mates for his wild ideas. “See I’ve got this deal going down, right on a side street off Ace and Whitman” the tall and skinny male explained. “All I need is for you to be a little extra muscle. It will pay well.” Dio pulled out some cash and waved it under Malik’s nose. “You’ll make a good hundred.”
Malik Shook Dio off his shoulders, and turned to face the taller male. “Look Man, I’m not interested.” He answered firmly, glaring at Dio.
Dio raised his hands in surrender. “Easy, Easy, It’s just a lifting job. Nothing shady.”
“Yet you’re offering me a hundred?”
“Hey, I’m getting paid for this. You help me, I give you a cut. It’s only fair right?” Dio reasoned. Unfortunately it was fair, and it was tempting as Malik could use the money since his job was in Limbo thanks to some Nercropolis demons from that day.
Malik Adjusted his backpack on his shoulders. “Fine dude. Lead the way.” He still suspected something to go wrong. Dio’s schemes often did have some sort of critical flaw in them that got someone hurt. Malik hoped he could prevent or intervene if things got too out of hand.
There was a little small talk on the way to the destination first destination, the normal catching up people do. Fortunately the spot was not too far away. It was in plain sight, walkable, and really in a straight line of sight from where the two had been before. There was a green truck, a little rusted but over all in decent shape. Placed in the back were some sturdy wooden boxes.
“This is the merch.” Dio pointed out. “There’s a drop off spot we’re to take it to. I just need you to help get it out of the trunk once we’re there. They’re heavy.”
Malik looked at the boxes. “Man what’s in there?” he asked.
“Parts.” Dio slid into the driver’s seat of the truck, and started the engine. “Now get in.”
Malik got into the passenger side, and slung his backpack on the floor. The truck smelled musty and a bit of weed. As soon as the doors were Closed Dio began to drive towards the long before mentioned streets. It was a fair 10 minutes of riding, and then taking a street that ran between the backs of people’s houses, and finally stopping.
“we’ll unload here.” Dio pointed out indicating an open garage door.
Malik got out. Dio opened the trunk. Malik reached in to pull out one of the boxes. They were pretty heavy, but Malik was able to handle them one at a time.
Dio whistled, Impressed. “I knew you were strong dude, but that’s impressive like each of these took like two people to lift in here.”
“It’s my job,” Malik explained. “Deal a lot with unloading and storing things till we need it.” There was a lifting and moving component to Malik’s currently postponed job, so this worked as a partial excuse.
While Malik Brought the box in, Dio made a quick call on his cellphone. “hey, yeah it’s here.” The call went on a little while, long enough for malik to finish moving the first thing before he turned and noticed that the one who Dio was on the phone with had been nearby with them probably from the arrival, and he was not alone….

Dusk Another day, another surveillance operation. That was what Dusk expected of the day, at least.
Her target, Malik Young, was assigned to her some time ago. She was made privy to what he was - a being beyond the scope of mortal knowledge, but one that pervaded their lore.
Honestly, it almost frightened her, which was why she decided to take this mission. His powers were well-documented - she, and the rest of the Tenno, understood his capabilities, but not the very extent of them. He was magical and dangerous.
She stood to her feet, walking quickly after him when he began to move. However, today, he was met with a male individual - one that Dusk had only tertiary knowledge on. His contacts were known by her group, but not this entirely this one.
Listening in to their conversation with a drone, she was absolutely sure that they were up to no good. Malik didn't seem to know what he was getting himself into, but that didn't exactly cross her mind. She was now hyper-aware.
So, here she was, set up maybe six blocks away from the two males unloading the truck. She took note of each of the boxes, zooming in through the scope to try and peer in to see their contents.
There would be more people coming, according to Malik's partner, and that was the one thing that stuck out to her. Of course, someone had to be here to close the deal.
How dangerous would they be? Well... if her experience told her anything, it could go south very quickly. Still, the subject of today was Malik. If he did anything to show his powers, she would be forced to deal with him.
She turned her rifle from her lying position, noticing two trucks and a car enter the area. Now, why would someone need that much cargo space for a few crates?
They would if they were holding something within them - like a truck full of people. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female

Non Player Character Mr. Sirio A dark-haired male, dressed in a blazer and jeans with shoes that looked to have the price range of 'too expensive' stepped from the car. With him were two males dressed in suits, standing on either side of him. He looked to be something out of a theatrical interpretation of the mob, sans his business casual attire. Still, the smile he had when he approached Malik and Dio expressed something cold; an inhuman calculation that regarded them with about as much care as a glass bottle placed over the ledge of a balcony. "Gentlemen," he said to the two of them. "Thank you for meeting with me today. I am Mr. Sirio, these are my associates, Mr. Grand and Mr. Kyla."His gaze turned to the crates, then back to the two. "I understand that you have a shipment here for me."

Dio turned to face the newcomers, wearing a slightly goofy smile on his face. "Yo." he raised a hand in greeting. "It's all here as requested." He gestured to the large wooden crates. All three were sealed tight, showing no hint of the contents. The weight of the boxes meant there was something heavy, but the real object of the deal was also there. "followed the instructions to the letter." Dio noted proudly. Except in one matter, bringing help in the form of Malik had not been agreed upon, but it wasn't like he'd been ordered to come alone.
Malik exited the garage and turned so that he could see Dio and the new men, with his back to the box he had just brought in. He didn't like the ruthless look of the man who had so easily taken charge. It would be wiser to not point it out, though Malik's eyes which flicked back and forth to observe the scene showed to some level that he was uncomfortable with how things had stated to turn out. Did dio even understand how dangerous these men were? there was only one way Malik could try and tell him without the men noticing, and seeing as the last time he'd done that trick to anyone had been an accident, Malik didn't dare try.

Non Player Character Mr. Sirio Sirio took Dio's hand despite the directness of the male. It was obvious that the dealer was a man who enjoyed the latter's brazen attitude. "Very good," he said in response to Dio. However, Malik's presence did not go unnoticed by the man. "A quiet one, aren't you?" He asked the male. But, making friends weren't why they were there. Grant and Kyla both made their ways to the crates, and the males made to haul the boxes out to the trucks. Before either could make their way out, Sirio held up a hand, turning to the male. "Wait. Grant."
The male in question stopped, looking to Sirio. The latter continued. "We need to check our merchandise before we give them any money. It's Business 101 after all."He then turned back to Malik and Dio. "That won't be a problem, will it?"

Dusk Dusk had feelings similar to Malik about these men. They seemed to be completely dangerous, no matter how you looked at them.
She listened in on the conversation and took note of the very calm, even tone of Sirio's voice. This man was a professional - something you only saw in movies. A dealer, a mob boss.
A murderer.
Her scope was aimed at the man's skull. Pulling the trigger now would end this whole charade - save those two boys in there from their own fatal mistake in dealing with people like this. She could get them both out of there right now.
Or, she would effectively give away her cover. Her shot would ring out, and while the male might fall, his subordinates would immediately turn on the two. The people on the inside of the trucks would burst out, and they would open fire on Malik and Dio. Their bodies would fall to the ground, limp, lifeless, and bloodied. She would bear witness to the murder of two young males because of her reckless actions.
That seemed like the more likely conclusion. It was a dilemma she faced every time she went on a mission like this.
So, instead of endangering them further, she opted to turn on one of her silent drones. The drone would take flight, clearing the neighborhood blocks easily to move into position behind the males. On it was a smoke screen deployer - something that would help the boys if... no, when things got hairy.
And, thus, Dusk went back to looking into her scope. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female

Dio waved his hands casually. "Its all here. you don't even need to check, but if you must you must." dio insisted. he was being honest too, no tricks in the boxes, the filler which hid the real merchandise in place. The reason for not unpacking the merchandise here was, lest anyone watching not in on the deal be able to identify it. Dio didn't think Malik would be able to. Hopefully there were no secret eyes anywhere that could see past the filler contents. "there's crowbars in the truck" to ensure the boxes' contents weren't tampered with they had been tightly sealed. Guess that wasn't quite enough evidence for MR.Sirio.
Malik was more the one to think that it would be a problem. Rare was it for packages to be checked before the delivery men went away. If there was a problem you called the shipping company not the deliverymen on it. "dude, I didn't sign up for this." Malik hissed in a whisper, trying to contact Dio without the men overhearing. Unfortunately luck might not be with Malik today on this.

Non Player Character Mr. Sirio "No need, Mr. Dio. We have our own equipment," he said. Just as he finished his statement, Kyla and Grant finished opening the boxes. They gave their boss a thumbs up, who in turn nodded to them. Malik's whispering did not go unnoticed by Sirio. "Did not sign up for what, my friend?" He asked with a cold smile. "Is there something you're hiding from us?"He shook his head at the two boys. "Ah, no matter. Our deal is done. Mr. Kyla?" At that moment, Kyla walked over to the two males with a case. Opening it, he revealed that there was money within. "Thank you for doing business with us," Sirio said. Turning on his heel, he made his way back to the car. And, from the back of the second truck came out seven more armed bodyguards, all of them pointing their weapons at Malik and Dio. Dusk Dusk's eyes widened as the deal closed. That case that Sirio was giving them had something on it, from what her scope was telling her.
A trigger. It was a trigger of some kind.
Oh, God. Those boys were set up. She knew it. She knew that this wasn't going to be good.
Her fears were answered when gunman emerged from the truck, ready to gun down the two grifted males.
"No you don't," Dusk whispered to herself angrily. She tapped on the screen of the computer on her arm, activating the drone that was stationed there.
The result was a smokescreen that filled the area.
The men pointing guns were obviously disoriented, apparent from their yells and Sirio's orders to open fire.
The smokescreen, however, would give Dio and Malik some time to book it out of the area if they needed to. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female

Malik knew something was off about the money. He hit it from Dio's hands.
"What are you doing!" Dio complained, However Malik was not giving Dio much time. There was not much time, the gunmen were coming.
Malik pushed Dio behind him. Dio was the taller one, but Malik might be able to survive a bullet or two. Dio would stand less of a chance.
The smoke was both a help and a hindrance. Bullets didn't need to see to hit their mark, and the open fire was bound to hit Malik or Dio all too easily. Because of the smoke, Malik could put up a shield without being fully seen, though it might show through the smoke that something had gotten bright, or be picked up by some of the drone's sensors.
It wasn't quite enough. A bullet not defended from pierced Dio's leg as Malik dragged Dio through the street, and strove to navigate through the smokescreen. Another grazed Malik in the side. Malik was lucky to sort of be able to see. Dio couldn't see anything through the smoke.
Though hurt Malik ignored the wound in order to keep moving. The blood would be a problem when the smoke cleared, slowing their progress and leaving a trail out of the street and to other streets. Though Malik could try to speed the healing process for himself or Dio, there was not really time to do that and keep on the move. They were on foot, and those men had cars. Ideally the two males could use a place to hide rather than to run.
There was also the question of who had sent the smokescreen.

Dusk As the smokescreen kept the men busy, Dusk took aim through the scope. It was on a setting that piercing through the veil of the smoke.
A shot, silenced by her attachment, went directly for one of the gunman's heads.
Down. Blood splattered from his penetrated skull, causing his comrades to become disoriented. Another shot came through the smoke, taking down another target.
One of the men tried to head in the direction that Malik and Dio had escaped to. He was downed as well. These shots were good, on-point, and obviously disorienting to their ranks, but Dusk knew that she would have to keep up with the kids.
She picked up her gun, activating the cloak. This gave her a burst of speed, which she used to scale a house and take off in the direction of the boys across the rooftops. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Non Player Character Sirio Gang Dudes The Sirio Gang was in hot pursuit of the escaping males. At least, they thought they were. No, they were definitely professionals who excelled at tracking their targets, but they weren't really expecting a smokescreen of all things. Then, their numbers started to fall out of nowhere. Some of them realized that it was sniper fire, and they said something about the one the two males doing it. After getting Mr. Sirio to a car, Kyla and Grant ordered them to continue their search for the males before the police catch up with them. That was exactly what they did, some going out toward the way the boys went, while others fanned out in other directions to try there. One of them could see blood splatters that led in a direction - the ones from Dio's gunshot wound that they hadn't known occurred - and signaled to the group to follow him. The hiding space the boys found worked, as one of the group moved past them, despite being uncomfortably close to discovering them. If they made any sounds, they would be found.

Malik willed Dio to be quiet, though a a glance made clear that Dio seemed ready to burst into speech at any given moment, that or make some kind of sound of pain, cause of that bullet wound. Even their breathing currently sounded loud to Malik even if it wasn't.
When the sound of footstep's faded, Dio exclaimed. "Man, what did ya do that for? We could'a,"
"Shhh." Malik put his hand over Dio's mouth. even if they could not hear footsteps anymore, someone meaning to attack them might still be close. Malik's expression was intense, but his voice steady, and soft, but without the hissing tones of a whisper. "be glad we're not dead." Malik listened quietly, hyper aware for signs that they had been heard. Then he ripped off part of his t-shirt and tied it tight around Dio's leg. Malik would have tried to do more, but he did not know how much time they would have here. it would be best to keep moving as soon as possible.

Non Player Character Sirio Gang Dudes Some of the thugs had moved on from the position of the hiding males, fanning out in search of them. When the group moved on, all seemed to be clear. Well, it would have been, if it weren't for a single thug that stayed behind to look through some of the area nearer Dio and Malik. He was big, burly, and armed with a rifle - the perfect example of a crook. However, upon turning the corner, he found himself on the ground. He wasn't dead, but definitely unconscious - in his back sat a glowing needle that entered his body. The boys were able to move away from the area. Dusk Dusk loaded another shot into her chamber before looking through the scope of the gun at the now comatose thug.
What she shot was a round usually used in medicine - filled to the brim with tranquilizers, numbing agents, and clotting inducers. In short, it was set to put those hit by it into a deep, deep sleep and reduce their body's strength to function.
Deadly? Only with multiple rounds shot into the body. She had managed to hit his spine, which made things much easier since it connected directly to some juicy nerve-endings.
Useful? Oh, absolutely.
With that, Dusk went back into her cloak, moving toward the rooftops to keep an eye on the boys from afar. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Loner。

Malik looked out from the hiding place once all was quiet. what he saw worried him. There was a man on the ground, and he was obviously one of the thugs. Someone was helping them. Someone knew Malik and Dio were here, but worse than that, that fallen man, was sure to give away their position to anyone else or at the very least provide a clue.
Malik pulled Dio too his feet, and away from the corner where the males had been hiding.
"Oi! dude. Where're we?" Dio protested verbally. He tried to drag Malik back but due to the shot leg, and Malik's greater strength, was pulled along anyhow.
This shout proved unlucky. It brought more of the thugs coming to investigate. Malik could hear them coming before he saw them. Malik pulled Dio across the street and between two buildings. They were almost all the way through when a one of the gang appeared in front of them. He didn't have his gun quite at the ready, but already he was raising it up in order to fire.
Malik brought his arm up, hitting the grunt elbow first, before he had the opportunity to aim. Malik knocked the man down. One shot was fired, but luckily it didn't hit Malik or Dio. The opportunity to fire a second shot did not come, for the gun was knocked away. Malik pulled Dio through the gap, and turned the corner onto a more public street. However it still was not crowded and provided little space to hide.
The one shot which was fired brought more of the thugs coming in their direction. Malik looked around. Where could they go. It was impossible to just disappear into a crowd here. Dio had it worse. The make shift bandage was already rather bloodstained.
Malik pulled Dio to the side, near a parked car where the two of them would at least not be instantly in plain sight. Dio looked pale. They couldn't keep running forever like this. Malik tore off more of his shirt to try and redo the bandage. He willed the wound to stop bleeding. He could not expect Dio to keep running with the wound being so nasty.
Dio was out of breath but a chance in the pace of his breathing, brought Malik to glance at his face. The lanky male stared at Malik with an expression of fear and disbelief. "dude, what did you do?" he gasped, actually speaking quietly for once, which was a surprise.
"what?" Malik asked, confused.
"Its not hurting anymore, somehow." Dio explained. Dio was going to explain more but he stopped himself. The men were definitely out on the street now, looking for the two boys. Due to the obstacles such as cars parked on the street, if the two moved at the right time they might be able to get out without being seen. If they moved at the wrong time however, they would definitely be found out and end up easy targets.

Dusk When the boys moved positions, Dusk was quick to follow once more.
She kept up with them, taking survey of the area around them to ensure that none of Sirio's gang were there to intrude.
What caught her attention, however, was Kyla attempting to flank the boys from behind with a dangerous-looking bludgeoning weapon.
With reflexes faster than what should be humanly possible, she closed the distance in half the time that Kyla did, and drew her dagger to stop the thug from bearing down on the two.
She kept the male at bay, appearing out of her cloak in front of the males, and jabbed into his stomach. A swift kick to his face followed as he fell to his knees, sending him skidding across the ground. It would be enough to break the man's jaw, but not enough to keep him down for long.
Turning to Malik and Dio, she gestured her head to bushes. "Stay hidden. They're coming." Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Non Player Character Sirio Gang Dudes Kyla had gotten his signature weapon - a technologically-advanced hammer-club that was made to smash bone and cause impact damage immediately. As he ran at Malik and Dio, he lifted the club to try and smash into their bodies. He was ordered to kill them immediately by Mr. Sirio, and that would be fulfilled. At least, that was the plan before he found his attack parried by Dusk, who appeared from seemingly nowhere as her invisibility wore off. His eyes widened as he stared down at her. "Who are-" he was cut off by a loud sound escaping him as Dusk smashed her fist into his stomach. Her enhanced strength caused him some significant pain. The kick to his face that followed up knocked him to the ground, disorienting him for a bit. Loner。

Malik sensed a potential attack before he saw anything of the sort. He turned to react, ready to hit hard or take a hit if need be.
Before Malik could act or react further, a stranger appeared from thin air, and quickly fought off the enemy. Malik had expected that someone was helping them, but the speed and efficiency with which she moved really showed off the marks of a pro. Many questions came to mind. Who was she? How long had she been following them? Could they trust her?
Malik didn't think they could, but there was little time to hesitate with those sorts of thoughts unless he wanted to risk getting killed.
Malik wasn't sure if it was he who dragged Dio to the bushes or if it was the other way around. Both had obeyed the order to hide. The least they could do was trust that dusk knew what she was doing with the thugs. Both were smart enough to know to stay quiet for now.
