Dusk As the boys left to hide, Dusk's attention turned back to the end of the street they were on. She ducked behind a house, getting out of the way of some bullets that flew by.
Then, she lobbed a grenade over the roof. It rolled into the gutter before falling out of the other side. What came was yet another smokescreen, concealing her position.
Jumping up, she grabbed onto the edge of the roof before climbing atop it. A few movements later, her gun was primed, and she took silenced shots into the smoke with her scope active.
A few of the Sirio thugs were taken down by the well-placed shots. However, some of them dispersed from the group.
That would spell trouble.
"Run!" she yelled to the boys. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Non Player Character Sirio Gang Dudes Kyla's thugs were going around the side when a few of them caught the sight of Malik and Dio. The two didn't have Dusk with them, and the gang members knew that. They began to attack the boys without a second thought, one standing behind to shoot while the others tried to physically assail them. Loner。

Running was not an option for the moment. Malik and Dio were nearly surrounded, with a bush on one side, walls on another and enough men to block off the rest from easy retreat. If they ran the gun would get them. if they stayed, clubs and other weapons would. This was no time to cower.
Malik balled his hands into fists, and charged in order to ram into one of the attacking brawlers. He intended to knock the man into the gunner, causing some confusion. Though he often wished he was without it, Malik's supernaturally enhanced strength and speed were potentially an asset. Unintentionally Malik ended up tapping into some of his innate celestial power to push further towards the strength he would have if he'd simply stop fighting himself.
Physical changes to his appearance came along with the rise in ability, For now Malik felt mostly in control. His power had not yet reached the point of overwhelming him so he didn't stand out as obviously inhuman. The eyes almost glowing with an inner fire, was the first to show and hardest to hide. Other traits had such as the metallic quality of his skin tone and glowing were subdued enough that they were easy to overlook in the midst of a fight. However if Malik ending up using more than he currently was he'd potentially be in big trouble.
This put Malik on a better playing field against the thugs, however The thugs probably had more experience in a fight. That was something which couldn't just be gained in a flash. Even if his initial attack took them by surprise it wouldn't be enough to win.
For a little while, Dio was left baffled, not knowing what to do even though he knew he should fight. Dio had half expected the awesome warrior woman to just finish the fight, and then be home free. He sat where he was for a moment, looking silly. Then his hand found his way to his pocket. He wasn't as defenseless as he'd thought for he'd forgotten about his Pocket knife. It was a simple weapon, with a blade that folded out from the handle, and none of the add ons of multi-tools. The lanky male grabbed it, Got to his feet, and flipped it open. Dio ended up adopting a goofy grin. Dio would slash the blade at any guy who came too close. However, if the knife was blocked by armor or a blunt weapon, it would not be useful for very long.
One of the gang who had escaped from where Dusk could easily pick them off had a communication device which looked sort of like an ear-bud sans any extra wires. He reported Dusk's last known location. From there order's spread.
Nothing could be done for the men who had gotten caught in her fire. they were on their own. Dusk had still caused problems for the gang and Mr. Sirio's agenda. If done with a person, or they got in the gang's way, you took them out. If you didn't you were taken out. Obedience was not optional even for those who were sharp enough to recognize dusk as out of their league.
Some of gang Memebers who were not pursuing Malik and Dio came in from the ground, and trying to get an aim on the sniper on the roof. It was a stupid thing, as a skilled sniper with higher ground such as dusk might have an easy time picking them off. Yet it was necessary.
Meanwhile in a task dedicated to some of the more experienced, some of the Thugs went off on their own.
Two broke into a nearby house. they was fortunate that no one was home at the time. They Climbed up to the top floor from the inside, and tried to find a window from which they could turn their guns on Dusk in the hope that the sniper could become the sniped.

Dusk As the gang members made to try and take the higher ground, Dusk was indeed able to pick off at least one of them. However, when they went into another house, she knew that things would get more complicated.
Activating her cloaking ability, she made to run to another place on the rooftop. All they would see is the place that she stood in originally.
Then, something would be lobbed into the window of the home. Those who understood military equipment would recognize it as a stun grenade. The result of it exploding would be it releasing an extremely loud bang and a flash of light that made to disorient things near it.
When it went off, Dusk took a few shots into the window of the house - with her rounds changed, the result would be causing those hit to lose consciousness.
Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Non Player Character Sirio Gang Dudes The thugs that went after Malik and Dio found themselves completely taken by surprise. The former's transformation made them almost completely incapable of harming him one-on-one - those that tried were taken down by his attacks in the beginning. That being said, it was clear that he had a tempo to his attacks. They caught on, immediately going in as a group to try and take him on. Bludgeoning weaponry was used to try and harm him, while the one with a gun stayed behind to try and shoot at the boys. There were two that tried to go after Dio, but found themselves diced by his knife. That was enough to subdue one of them, but the other swung a bat aimed to smash the knife-brandishing male's skull. So Malik had not succeeded in disturbing he gun man enough to by himself and Dio some time in that regard. He didn't even have much time to focus or plan. He couldn't protect Dio now except by keeping as many of the thugs as busy as possible. Malik was vaguely aware that Dio had a knife out and was using it. Yet Malik could do nothing to help Dio. Malik was cut off, and stuck dealing with several of the men who demanded nearly all of his attention.
Malik could see or sense the attacks coming, but he could not avoid them all. Agility was not a skill Malik had cultivated, and in this space he didn't dare try. He caught one club in his hands, and tried to twist it away from the man who'd held it. This would be used against the man who had carried the weapon first in a firm hit to the head. Hopefully he had only knocked out the man, but he didn't have time to tell. The other Bludgeons hit hard, but were not enough to bring Malik down yet. Malik tried to kick the legs out from under one man. He tried to punch another. Hopefully the gunman wouldn't have time to aim and actually fire a bullet. Hopefully if he did, it would hit an ally in the chaos of the close combat fight, rather than himself or Dio, but Malik could not bet on that.
The bat missed only because Dio saw it coming fast enough to try and move out of the way. Instead it hit the male's shoulder. Being skinny and bony offered little defense for Dio to take the hit, and a nasty crack could be heard as some bone broke. Luckily it wasn't his knife arm. Desperate, Dio plunged his knife towards the attacker's face, hoping to stab somewhere like an eye before he ended up taking another hit. Dio wasn't moving as much, so it might be easier for the gunner to shoot at Dio than Malik right now.
"Damn it. Someone take that woman out." someone yelled, but the damage was done already. Dusk successfully rendered the attempt to snipe her ineffective, and the men who had tried it useless. "where'd she go?" the other men tried to figure that out, for they could not attack someone they could not see. they could only guess where she might be based on the attack she used to hit others of their number. As the goons tried to relocate her dusk would, unfortunately for them, have plenty of time to continue picking them off.

Dusk And pick them off she did. Well-placed shots took down a few of the members, lessening their numbers. Dusk was trained in this, after all; she would have more experience than a few thugs.
At least, that was until she noticed the gunmen starting to overpower Malik and Dio. She let her guard stop for a second, moving toward a rooftop edge to take aim. Her cloak disengaged, and she took a shot just a millisecond earlier than the other gunman.
Dio was safe from the long range threat, but it left maybe two or three others.
Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Non Player Character Sirio Gang Dudes The gunman was downed quickly. However, another thug broke off from his fight with Malik to lunge at Dio. It was a stroke of genius from a rather stupid gang member. However, Dusk's actions cost her. From behind her, she would be lifted in the air and thrown back on the roof by Kyla, the other bodyguard of Sirio. Loner。

Three left quickly became two, for Malik punched out one. There was still little time to really think. Malik saw one of the remaining two men charge at Dio. His attention turned in that direction.
Dio's scene was bloody. His knife arm and clothing were splattered. His other arm hung useless at his side. He pulled his knife away from the fallen man who he'd stabbed through the eye. A cruel gleam showed in his eyes, but they were also clouded with pain and exhaustion. He could see it coming but significantly slowed, he could not respond to the incoming blow.
Sensing that Dio was at too great a disadvantage, Malik turned from the other foe. Now that most of the men had fallen or fled it was easy to close the distance between Dio and himself without the remaining one having any chance of standing in the way. From behind, Malik grabbed the man who'd been intending to clobber Dio, pulling him to the ground.
The final Man picked up gun which had fallen to the ground from one of his defeated comrades. He used this opportunity to attack Malik from behind, managing to fire one shot.
Pain exploded from the back of Malik's skull as the shot hit true. Automatically his celestial energy spiked in order to reverse the potentially deadly damage. It was visible to Dio since Malik was facing this boy, but the last grunt could likely see too that Malik was somehow inhuman. Malik didn't know how much had been revealed. He'd fallen to the ground.
Dio didn't want to end up shot by this guy as well, so he threw his knife. Though he usually preferred to keep the blade close, he managed still to strike the last of the three. It hit the gang man's hand, and that bought Dio enough time to close the gap, recover the blade, and finally slit the final man's throat.
Dio staggered to the behind him and slumped against it. It was over. He really hoped it was. He couldn't keep fighting much more. He didn't see any threatening figures. He closed his eyes just for a moment.

Dusk The fight with Kyla was quick, albeit risky. Armed with an electrical baton, the thug leader attempted to move past Dusk, going right for Dio and Malik.
She was quick to follow him off of the rooftop, and blocked the baton with her hand. The barrier was the thing that kept the electricity at bay, but for any watching it would seem as if she simply did so with her own strength alone.
A well-placed, bone-cracking kick sent Kyla reeling back, and Dusk followed up by drawing her pistol. It was a heavy make, with enough stopping power to render all foes dead in a single shot.
That's what she was going for. Kyla didn't have the time to react before three shots were unloaded into him. He was sent flying onto the ground unceremoniously, and just like that the battle ended.
Dusk wiped her brow without so much as a word, then turned to Dio. "Are you okay?" Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Loner。

Dio cracked open his eyes, and gave a twisted grin. He was hurting still, his expression quite pained, but there was humor in it as well. "Of course I'm okay, other than my arm trying to kill me." he joked. "Thanks for bailing us out back there. Y'were Awesome." He praised. Relief drove away some of the caution and wariness. it was easy to act friendly when the efficiently deadly lady actually killed off the baddies for you. It'd be far harder if Dio was on the other side of the gun.
Already Malik was recovering significantly. The healing was not complete, but he'd already recovered enough to have some awareness of his surroundings return. He was able to push himself up slowly. His head throbbed a ton. Yet he really couldn't expect otherwise. He looked and felt like a mess, with clothing torn and bloody (most of it not his own), and smudged with dirt. Dio didn't look much better. He'd not fought off quite as many of the thugs as Malik had, but he'd drawn blood more times, and so was more heavily stained with the red stuff.
"Dude, how are you not dead right now?" Dio asked in surprise. To be honest he didn't care much for Malik as more than occasional help for his own ends, but this was just a bit too unnatural.
Malik was of course not quite ready to give any sort of answer.

Dusk "Yes, it's a blessing that we all made it," Dusk spoke conversationally. However, she tapped her wrist gauntlet and pointed it at Dio.
"Now, sleep," she said. A dart would fly out, and upon contact it would send a mass of chemicals to put Dio into deep unconsciousness. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Loner。

So quick, so quick, Eyelids drooped and bosy fell limp as Dusk's Tranquilizer took effect on the lanky male. He didn't even really have time to say anything else.
Malik saw. He felt he ought to run, but knew that for the moment he probably couldn't manage such a feat. At least Dusk had not killed Dio, but Malik too had seen her fight somewhat. He didn't think he could trust this woman.
"Give me a moment... I can take him to a hospital..." Malik found himself speaking before asking any of the many questions which had come to mind. Of course it probably would be better for Malik if he didn't help Dio at all, yet he doubted this killer lady would actually help much.

Dusk "We both will," Dusk simply said to Malik. She knew of a place that Dio and Malik could go for treatment, where it would be guaranteed that they'd get the treatment they needed, but also a place where Malik would be evaluated. She looked the Malik up and down as she picked Dio up over her shoulder. He was aware, now, so her cover story had to be solid."My name is Sophia; ex-lieutenant of the GCE. Nice to meet you."EXIT. Human Neutral Good | 27 | Female Loner。

Malik managed to pull himself to his feet. He felt a little bit unsteady, but he figured he'd be okay. "so that's why you're so brutal." He noted, mostly to himself, "Seem's a little more than coincidence that you ended up in the area with so much equipment." Because of the things he didn't understand, he definitely rather not have Sophia around right now. He guessed he'd have to try to ditch her and Dio...after he made sure Dio made it to the hospital safely. Alright, that seemed like a fair enough plan. He hadn't been to a hospital for himself since....for a while. He didn't know how obvious any of his inhuman traits might be on the biological level yet, but he didn't want to take chances. If he had to have a hospital check him over, he'd have to be really careful. He wasn't looking forward to this.
