Malik glanced back at the Angel, surprised that she had not caught it when he'd tossed it away. He regreted even touching the thing and it definitely wasn't in his hands now. "Take it." He said tilting his head to indicate where it had fallen. He'd only had it for a short few seconds, and it still felt terrible, especially his right hand but also his chest as well. He showed off his empty right hand, then glanced at it. "Shit." Though he'd let go of the shard he could still see remnants on his hand. Was that why it still felt so weird? He needed to get it off somehow.

Phanuel The angel lifted her hand, telekinetically bringing the stone toward her. She stored the energy in the same bank as the rest of it before looking back around the area.
Her Agathion seemed to have finished their work.
One made his way over to her, having taken a human form to remain inconspicuous.
"My Cherub, I've finished my surveying of the area..." he said. Then, his eyes turned to Malik, and he blinked in surprise. "Oh. A Celestial. Hello. Are you here to help?" Empyrean angel True Neutral | Ageless | Genderless

Malik wouldn't have known this other as an angel at first, except for how he spoke. The respect which he gave Phanuel made the deduction pretty easy. He definitely prefered the tactic to the other angel's showiness.
Malik stopped trying to get the residue off his hand. It already looked more like bruises under the skin than like something on the skin that he could just scrub out. That was worrying. The dark energy resonated too well with the human part of his spirit. His expression darkened into a disapproving one, affected by the energy, but mostly enhanced by his own denial. "Don't lump me with you guys. I'm not celestial or whatever you want to call it." Malik insisted, his gaze firm and his expression grim. "I came to tell you guys to leave but obviously that didn't work out." Malik could have tried lying but he didn't think he'd be able to be convincing when Phanuel was able to say what had really happened if she wanted to. Jay

Phanuel The angel tilted his head. "Then are you perhaps a Fallen?" He asked.
Phanuel spoke up at this moment. "It's a child in denial of their own heritage," she said with a noticeable amount of distaste. "Who refuses to accept their Heavens."
The male angel shook his head. "Such a shame. You seem to possess something quite beautiful. Why would you want us to leave?" Empyrean angel True Neutral | Ageless | Genderless Loner。

Part of Malik wanted the angels to actually understand his point of view. He felt it might be futile to try. He hadn't really seem much proof that they could be empathetic creatures or put themselves in other people's shoes. "you don't like demons right?" He decided to try. "What if you found out you actually were one? What would you think? what would your comrades think if they found out?" Explaining this forced Malik to subtlety admit that knew that there was something inhuman about himself. He rather keep denying it for the simple reason that he was afraid. Not only that, he couldn't find any peace from that fear, because that was what he'd been taught, and so had everyone else here. As soon as someone of anti-supernatural thought found out he was sure to be in deep trouble. Hopefully no one was around who could overhear and put two and two together. It would be better to get out of here, just to make sure, but for some reason Malik hadn't gone away yet even though he had tried. He wasn't quite sure why that was.
"you're basically aliens. "if you blend in you've got an advantage, but if you don't... I thought you guys were coming here to attack" Malik admitted, frustration lacing his tone of voice. Maybe something interesting had happened that was worth angelic investigation, but malik was more of the mindset where he just wanted to keep the supernatural as far away as possible for a while. Jay

Phanuel "We cannot identify with your problem because, unlike the demonic scourge, we did not come to destroy your home," Phanuel said. "To treat all beings different than you with distaste... is this what you call the human nature?"
The male angel looked to Phanuel for a moment, then back to Malik.
She continued. "Besides, child, I'm not naive. The moment my presence scared the people on the streets, I cloaked it. We haven't been detectable for the entirety of our time together."
To illustrate her point, the Cherub waved her hand, running her fingers through what looked like shimmering in the air.
"But I appreciate your attempts to tell an eons year old being how to interact with a culture different than their own," she said with a nod. The sarcasm was evident. Empyrean angel True Neutral | Ageless | Genderless Loner。

Malik wished he could just beat these guys up. Their smug arrogance got on his nerves. No matter how old they were they clearly didn't understand things from a human perspective. Nor from the perspective of a guy who was stuck being a thing he thought shouldn't exist. It might have been no problem if he'd been raised as a supernatural from the start. He wouldn't have lived most of his life thinking he was ordinary that way. He wouldn't have ended up believing that the supernatural was something you should only encounter in stories. He wouldn't have made the serial mistake of taking to someone only he could see and thinking everyone else could see them too.
Malik's anger was very transparent. He was glaring at them. His hands were balled into fists. The temptation to tap into his inhuman power was strong as the energy, twisted by the seed of demonic blackness which he had unintentionally trapped within him writhed under the skin. He couldn't afford to use it. He didn't know how to hide the change it brought from mortal sight. Lastly even if he could match blows, the angels would know what they were doing in a way malik couldn't. To attack would be stupid, and Malik knew it.

Phanuel "Calm yourself, child," Phanuel said with a wave of her hand, which called the three of her angels to her side. "Humans are also incapable of taking criticism, it seems. A pity, really."
The angels disappeared in flashes of light, having gotten ample samples of the dark energy. They were now on their way back to the Heavens, set on analyzing it.
Their boss, however, stayed. She lifted her hand, morphing herself into a human shape - a woman of long, raven hair, dark skin, and glowing, electric blue eyes. She was now a more tolerable height, standing at around 5'7".
"Becoming a human being is as easy as that."
Just then, people began to appear, asking questions of one another about a 'strange light' that appeared.
Looking all around them, Phanuel spoke. "Well, there you are - more of your kind. And they're none-the-wiser, just as you wished."

She may have become human in form, but she was definitely not human any other way. Did the angel just look that way, or had she purposeful chosen an appearance which looked more like Malik's. Malik didn't know, but he definitely didn't trust the angel. The way she spoke still was frustrating. If people heard her, and the other humans could see her now, wouldn't they figure out that she was something different. For that reason alone he didn't respond to the Angel's cocky points. He still was frustrated, but he wasn't going to be able to do anything with a crowd here. Malik pushed his way through the small crowd. "I think some kid was playing a prank with fireworks." Malik offered to them as an explanation, not hiding the subtle anger that kind of laced his voice. The humans might not know who the anger was directed too. As for the sounds that no one had heard, there were such things as quiet fireworks. Malik definitely didn't want to stay where people were as plentiful right now.

Phanuel "Life isn't as black-and-white as you're making it out to be, child," Phanuel stated. Her voice seemed to follow after him almost seamlessly - most likely another celestial power of hers. "Someday, your past and your present will collide," her words were cryptic. "Where will you be when it happens?"Her presence would seem to fade away from Malik, and any reaction he had to her angelic power would fade with it. The Empyrean had taken her leave. Would that be the last of her that Malik would see? Only time would tell. EXIT. Empyrean angel True Neutral | Ageless | Genderless Loner。
