The damage was incredible. Surveyed from above using military drones and the occasional helicopter, the scar the invasion left on the land was impossible to miss. A formerly top notch research facility was in ruins. The sheer number of homes flattened made it look like an earthquake had struck. sinkholes caused by shifting earth, and the occasionally crashed demon had swallowed cars, and building and other people too. Of the buildings that were standing, many were pockmarked with holes, had pieces blown out of them, and were in many cases too fragile to live in.
Many people had been displaced from their homes. Thanks to valiant Miliary efforts, a large number had been evacuated to nearby earthquake shelters, and other bases without inviting too much chaos. From there procedures had been standard.
After the chaos had passed, Organized military again had a role. In past breaches of supernatural influence on the sanctuary, all witnesses except for those in authority, security or who were permitted to remember the events, were taken 'in' for 'repair'. The brainwashing operation was straightforward, but a state secret in many ways. Post this most recent attack A large scale approach was necessary.
It began with the civilians who had made it to the shelters. Already fearful and under the military eye, these were the easiest to transport to the facilities which would make the recent nightmare, a freak event of nature instead.
On the outside, it was an emergency hospital. Everyone was being taken or sent there to be checked for wounds and accounted for. How many were dead or missing was still a guess, but this helped the state know who wasn't around.
In already evacuated areas, emergency crews came in to clean up the mess. They could not fix it all, but the idea was to get rid of as much demon residue as possible, so that when civilians were yet again allowed in, they would have no reason to think that what they believed had happened was not true.
search crews looked for human bodies in the rubble
Similar operations occurred in all effected areas.
News stations, TV, and Radio and Internet were told what to say.
It would take several days to clean up it all but, in the end most of the population would have no idea that the sky had opened up to release hordes of demons onto the city, while those in charge frantically strived to prevent a similar event from occurring in the future.
Regarding those in charge...
The fate of Mr. Acciaio Director of Sanctuary was not yet public knowledge. Those who had worked under him were currently running this show, almost as if he was still present. Eventually the news would be spread. For now enough people needed help surviving that immediate concerns might not even cross their minds.
For the people who's memories had been repaired, and those who for some reason or other were waiting for repair, camps had been created. A large number of people who had survived were directed to Neon Lake Highschool and the surrounding grounds. The gymnasium and Cafeteria, were packed, being used to distribute much needed supplies. Bottled water, food, minor medicinal care, were just some of the provisions at this hub.

Having been hit on the head within the first wave of attacks, Jessie remembered little of what had actually happened to the city. What the red-head could recall was blurry. Pain in her shoulder as someone dragged her out, someone dressed in fire-gear finding her, and sleeping on and off for quite a while after. Parts of her memory were foggy even after she had been conscious. Come morning she had been mostly fine, but the authorities had her come with them, patched up her head and shoulder, then directed she make her way toward Neon Lake highschool.
Her wide denim jeans were rather dirty and her shirt was torn. At least she had not lost her dad's dog tags. He'd given them to her after he had served his term on duty. They were one of the special objects the 22 year old valued. The other, was less of a thing, and more of a person, her large dog cloak. The wolf-like black dog was usually by her side but she hadn't seen him since regaining consciousness at the shelter. He could be anywhere.
The Androgynous female could not afford to look all over for 'woman's best friend' even though she wanted to. Men and women with the official dress and posture of authority stood in the way of both accidental and wanton exploring. There was no where else to go. Jessie would hope that the dog found her.
Upon reaching the school it was already rather packed. Small groups huddled outside, standing or sitting, making the best of the bad situation. Even more people were inside. For now Jessie didn't see anyone she knew. She simply had a rough idea of where she was supposed to go.

The war was fun but as with all good things, it too came to an end; much to his disappointment. He had only started having fun and now it was over? It was still chaotic though. However, now it was boring. The whole recovery scenario and the military moving about: all so dull and boring. So the agent of chaos, decided to do something about it.
These situations did leave quite an opening for new recruits. So many minds, shocked and damaged. Frightening things, these humans could be, if only they were ‘pushed’ right. Like sheep, they were herded to various gathering areas and closed off to keep them ‘safe’. The illusions of control the military and Sanctuary authorities wanted to maintain. It was quite amusing. Within mere moments, the peace and control that they had worked so hard to establish had been ruined. With the foreign elements gone, they frantically had begun grasping at it once more. Classifying it as their attempt to do it for the ‘greater good’; the irony of it was, amusing.
It was a school that people had gathered in. The military was patrolling around, collecting remains of demons and cleaning things up. An ice cream truck made its way through the destroyed remains of the city and parked at the entrance of the school. ”Are you guys okay? Are you really here to sell ice creams?”, the absurdity of the situation even confused the military personnel guarding the school. It had only been a day since the war had stopped. How could it be that someone would be selling ice creams the next day? While people were still only trying to survive. A man leaned out of the window and smiled, scratching the back of his neck nervously: ”Man, the boss is a killer. Even if it was the end of the world, he’d still dock a pay day. You’ve gotta let me try and sell the ice creams”. The driver begged the military personnel at the entrance and finally convinced them to open the gates for the ice cream truck. With the loud music of the ice cream truck echoing throughout the ruins of the city, slowly it began moving. Right when the front of the vehicle passed through, the back doors of the van opened and blinding light emerged along with loud noises of gun shots. The attackers made short work of the military guarding the front entrance.
Immediately, the remaining military individuals guarding the scene were alerted and began diverting towards the school. Other soldiers, standing on the walls and at other points pointed their guns towards the van as it screeched its way inside. Only minutes after the arrival of the ice cream van, it was all out war again. This time though, it wasn’t between demons. Shots were fired all over between both parties; radios began echoing: ”Shots fired! Shots fired”.
The van entered into an open area, the drive shooting with a mini machine guns; various other guns also shooting out from the back of the van. Meanwhile, concentrated fire from military rifles was directed towards the van. How long could normal humans hold out to such a barrage of gun fire? Soon after, the retaliation from the ice cream truck stopped. And as sudden as it had begun, the noise subsided and it got quiet again. However, this time, the military was now on high alert. What really was going on?
As a few group of soldiers gathered and began making their way towards the van to make sure everyone inside was dead. The silence was yet again broken but this time not by gun fire or anything hostile. Rather, it was the sound of clapping; coming from the back of the van.

It had been a fairly uneventful, if tiring, week.
For the most part Doppler had been busy traveling around a number of small towns, tossing all the various strewn-about pieces of his ghost-hunting equipment back into the time machine. By the time he'd finished, he could barely move about the machine, much less examine the audio and video for signs of paranormal activity. He had forgotten just how much stuff he'd gathered from over his travels.
So he started shoving all the non-recording equipment on the time machine's built(hacked)-in teleporter and sending them over to his distant relative's creaky, creepy -shed- house. Needless to say, this relative was none too happy about it, and was soon ringing Doppler across time and space to get this junk out of his house. Of course, Doppler did the reasonable thing and locked his relative out of the teleporter, making sure that he wouldn't be able to send the stuff back until his examination of the recorded contents was complete.
The plan backfired, however, when in his haste Doppler hit the wrong button, sending the entire teleportation component over to his relative's place. Before long this device was being taken advantage of, and Doppler soon found himself being stuffed inside the claustrophobic container with his relative and being forced into cleaning up the mess that he'd made.
Objects were piled high in the small space of the house, and for the last few days he'd been busy returning the items to their rightful place. Things might have gone faster if he didn't keep slacking off, but hey, he still had some stuff to look over, and you don't know that to be truth, old man!
By the time Doppler had completed the task, he was well worn out, and had slept for the rest of that day and most of the next before being rudely woken from his rest. His grumpy relative seemed to have taken a turn, as the boy was now being thanked and offered a reward for his work.
Hot diggity dog! Doppler threw on a spooky sweater and followed his relative to the car, where he was promptly taken into the big city to visit a famous (or was it infamous?) dairy store. He was so grumpy, hungry, overjoyed, and tired, that he didn't even notice the growing panic while he slurped on an ice cream cone, tears streaming from his eyes.
The next thing he knew, he was standing in the middle of some fairly shitty-looking parking lot, some guy in military garb hand-waving him along, and absolutely no delicious desert in sight. All he knew was that his body ached all over the place, his eyes burned, his skin was covered in dust, his skull was pounding, and these ragged textiles couldn't possibly be his clothes. To top it all off, he was fairly miffed to have lost his treat after all the work he had put in. Oh, yeah, and he couldn't see where his relative might be, which only further squeezed the confusion in his heart and lungs.
All of a sudden, the roar of strangers trying to talk over one another was drowned out by the sound of gunshots, the soldier who'd been pushing him forward abruptly turning, lifting his gun as he ran off. Doppler turned to watch him go, seeing a long line of rather dazed looking folks stretching behind him, heads hanging from their necks, arms drifting limply. Something was tearing through the ruins he now found himself in -- by the sounds of it, some sort of vehicle -- and Doppler realized this was his chance to slip away. From what? He didn't know. But seeing someone else making their way through the crowd, seemingly in the line's direction, told him he better make it quick, and so, with haste, he slid under the ropes that sectioned off the line, and disappeared behind some rocks.
He wasn't sure where else to go, but he snuck on for a bit until he managed to happen upon a copse of trees in the middle of -- what was this place even...a courtyard? What even was that building? He didn't have time to lose standing about risking being seen, so Doppler walked into the foliage while the gunshots continued to ring out, before, all at once, they ended. From his new hiding spot, he felt this might be a good place to gather his bearings, figure out what was going on, where he was, and how to get back home. Crouching between boulders, bushes, and trees, the child began to surreptitiously (or so he hoped) peer about the surrounding area, seeking clues that might aid in answering any one of his questions.

Jessie instinctively dove for cover. She had no weapons, and none of the high tech armor that some of the soldiers might have. One accurate shot could be deadly to her. The girl cursed to herself as she hid behind a school wall, at an angle gunshots could not reach. How had this place so quickly ended up looking and sounding like a war zone? This reminded her of the place she'd left, and the recent disaster that had befallen sanctuary. A disaster could not be helped, but wasn't a girl allowed to start a new life and start over somewhere? Apparently not.
Whether the other disaster victims lived or died wasn't her problem. She wasn't gonna try and save people's lives. The soldiers were far better equipped for that when it came to offense and defense, and the medical personnel, were far better when it came to rescuing the lives of those who ended up wounded. Jessie was focused far more on self preservation. She wasn't dumb enough to poke her head out where gunshots had been fired. The female followed the side of the building around. The safest place right now was probably off these grounds, and as far away as possible.

Jade watched from a strategic point, close enough that she could see much of what went on, with her binocular camera, far enough away that she was in no danger of the bullets. After proving that she was a legal mutant, she had many official papers she could show when she needed to, she'd been asked to assist not as a soldier, but as a watcher. The feline lady was fine with that. This was her job anyhow. If given a choice she'd have preferred being down there, but her employer had provided here with a special camera, one that could detect a lot more than just the visual details of the crowd. The technology could with consistently tested accuracy pick up the heart rates of those in the crowd, had an infrared mode, an X-ray mode, and more. She was supposed spot and report anomalies, and turn in the tape later for her employer's inspection. She had a transceiver for the task.
She'd expected a few supernaturals would try some things. The tech she had would allow her to spot most possible ones at a glance. The tech also allowed her to spot humans which were up to no good. Of course someone with an icecream truck in the middle of this city now was one of those she'd reported, but someone had not listened to her report, or if it had been heard, it hadn't been heeded.
Chaos erupted. Rather than get involved, Jade zoomed out a bit so that she could catch as much of the event on tape as possible. She had training as a fighter a little bit, so she could have gone down. Instead she had orders to use her skills to data collection only which was fine.

The highly alert military held strategic positions as the presence of a surviving foe was revealed thanks to the sound of clapping. Considering the situation, it was quite odd to say the least but what awaited them in the pitch darkness of the back of the ice cream truck was far more than just odd.
”After all this chaos, how could you gentlemen kill innocent people like this?”, said a voice from the darkness. Confusion and silence followed, until the silence was broken by a military superior: ”Innocent? You are one to talk. Come out with your hands up or face the same fate as your allies”; shouted the individual. ”Now now, no need for hostilities” came the reply as the individual stepped into the light and outside the van. With the appearance of the man, the military personnel just stood there; looking at the spectacle in front of them. One confusing situation after the other, followed. An ice cream truck, armed individuals and sudden attack and now this person? What really was happening?
The person who came out of the van and stood in front of them was dressed in a purple suit. His face was covered with a clown’s make up. A large red colored smile painted on his lips was freakish to say the least. His hair was green and he had a confident look on his face. The Joker stood with his hands up in the air as he faced towards the soldiers aiming their guns towards him. ”I suppose you didn’t get me the first time so allow me to ask of you again, why kill innocents?”, said the Joker with a devilish grin on his face. Before the military superior from before could reply though, he continued to speak standing still in his position. ”Are you going to plead self defense? Then, explain self defense. Isn’t it valid against someone who intends to cause harm?”
”Charging towards a shelter with their guns blazing. Are you saying that’s not hostile intent? Are you as insane as your outfit?”, replied the major holding his gun firmly and aiming it towards the head of the Joker. Just like the superior, all the other soldiers were simply baffled at what this man was saying. Was he really such an idiot? Even still, they knew better than to let down their guard. They questioned the sanity of the Joker but maintained their grip on their weapons and held their aim.
”Of course, if they did actually shoot someone; that would’ve been hostile. However, you guys are so trigger happy that you didn’t even stop to check that. Did you?”, said the Joker looking at something behind the soldiers. The soldiers were sitting on their knees with their guns towards the Joker, their back was toward the entrance. The entrance being the place where it had all begun. The ice cream truck did come in from here and it did appear that they had killed everyone guarding the entrance.
And now, the soldiers guarding the entrance had begun standing on their feet. Each slightly confused but completely refreshed and energetic. No one, who had actually been hit by the bullets of the ‘attackers’ was actually dead. They were all standing on their feet and were now feeling far better than before. The soldiers on the walls and higher locations saw this and began lowering their guns. This whole scenario was far too baffling now.
”What’s going on?”, said the Major as he too witnessed the downed soldiers standing on their feet once more. ”Ah, so now the trigger crazy soldier wonders about what’s going on? Well, you killed four innocent people who actually were trying to help out you guys do your duty better”, gladly replied the Joker. ”What the hell are you talking about? Explain yourself!”, demanded the major now even angrier at the situation.
”Alright alright. Relax will you”, said the Joker as he began explaining the thing; with his hands still up in the air. ”With the war and everything; it was obvious that you soldiers had your work cut out for you. These civilians who now lay dead in this ice cream truck behind me, wanted to help out you soldiers because they had survived thanks to your efforts. So, I helped them acquire a certain kind of experimental drug. This drug you see, it revitalizes the body and acts in a way that resets the body. Reset as in, completely removes fatigue and helps people to work better. The downside is, that the injected individual enters into a dead like stage; though that stage is always and without fail temporary”.
All the guns that had been aimed at him, fell down as the soldiers stared at this strangely dressed individual with disbelief. ”You must be wondering, then why the guns?”, the Joker continued not allowing any room for questions. ”Would any of you have agreed if they had asked you to inject said medicine normally? Would you have complied you’re your heads down and formed a line to let them help you? We know the answer to that, don’t we major?”, said the Joker as he lowered his hands. Even the Major now, was sweating facing the situation.
”Their method, no doubt was wrong but intentions were quite pure. As you can see before you, no one is actually injured. Except for the innocent people who sought to help you”, only silence followed after his words.
This was the atmosphere that the Joker had wanted to create from the beginning. Manipulating a few people and making them think that this was the only way to help their saviors. People were so easy, predictable; he only had to give a little speech and they agreed to his absurd plan. The rest of it, simply fell into place on its own. And now he stood, not as a person who had wronged anyone but rather the one person who was the victim. The military’s image of saviors now turned into trigger happy demons.
He would turn towards the ice cream truck and climb on top of it, facing the people who were at the school. The military still dealing with the fact that they had killed innocent people and not just innocent people but people who actually meant to help them.
”Right before your eyes, this military that you believe is protecting you; killed four people just like you who actually intended to help them. So tell me, are you safe? Is this truly a shelter? Do you really think that here, among them, you will be saved?”, after his question he would stand motionless. No sudden moves so that no soldier would have to retaliate against him. He had planted the seed, now he wanted to see what would follow next.

Thanks to the nature of this space, the fleeing Jessie could hear some of what the Joker said. Though she could see some sense in it, in her case it made more sense to keep retreating. He didn't sound like someone she could trust even if his words had a point. Jessie had always known, the police, the army, whoever you chose to name, could be a dangerous force to the people. She'd adored her father, and even kept his dogtags, and memories of things he'd told her about his time on the force. He definitely had told her things in an honest way. She...turned around.
"The picture he's painting is wrong." She stated, in a clear voice used to needing to project to be heard, though she was hesitant to show her face just in case someone actually tried to shoot her with a real gun. "The Military aren't heroes, they're human. If you point a gun at anyone, you expect them to fear for their lives first, not to not shoot their own gun, just in case your's aint lethal. Guns are usually shot to kill, so hesitate to shoot, and you're dead instead. Even if by your logic, it was easier to shoot a bunch of people first and ask later, in order to 'help', You made them think of you as the enemy. That's the picture you painted, and now you want to be the good guy cause you didn't kill anyone? Wrong You killed those people, by painting an impression where the only natural response for the safety of the masses here was to shoot back." Guns wouldn't have been raised at all if Joker and those who wanted to help had gone about introducing their help in more conventional means. It might have been slower, but it definitely wouldn't have introduced a potential mass panic.

Doppler listened to the unfolding scene, watching through the shrubbery of his little grove with a quirked brow. With the weirdness of folks rising from the dead and the ruined state of the city around him, he had to wonder if, somehow, he'd ended up in another future altogether. But how could that be possible? Not without his time machine....
The child rubbed his head, which still felt a little fuzzy. What could have happened between the ice cream shoppe and now? He snuck around his small hiding spot, peeping through branches and leaves, as someone from the not-as-ruinous nearby building spoke up in turn.
Everyone was looking between the ice cream truck, military, and that building. The army and the truck were near the entrance, but perhaps they wouldn't pay any attention to a child leaving? Doppler scratched his head in thought. He couldn't think of much else to do; his relative was missing, and he'd much rather be on his way than waste time looking around for him, risking getting caught. It would be better to make a run for it, wouldn't it? Gather his bearings, try to find where his time machine might be now -- hopefully back in the same spot...then use it to go back and prevent whatever had happened to him, or at least to find out where his relative could have gone.
With a nervous swallow, the child dusted off his tattered apparel, turning back to where the gate into the courtyard...parking lot...whatever it was!, was. There were walls all around them, with garden variety decorations set out at regular intervals, including some more bushes and trees.
Trying to be quick and sneaky about it, Doppler dashed out from the grove, aiming to hide behind the closest tree first. If he managed to make it without being seen, he'd peek out to make certain of his location, then continue to try and sneak his way from cover to cover, hopefully until he made it to the gate and behind the line of military men.

”ooo a voice from beyond. Wonderful!”, the Joker murmured as the female voice began speaking in favor of the military. Typical wasn’t it? The institutions, organizations had really seeped through the minds and souls of the common masses. Even if they mass murdered people but presented some sophisticated reason, it would be fine. Well, the Joker wasn’t exactly innocent nor did he think of himself as innocent; however, the situation worked out pretty fine for him though. He wouldn’t interrupt the lady speaking out from some location nearby, he didn’t care who it was or where she was. This seemed to be an interesting challenge. Sure, he was trying to get people to not trust the military and even if possible, riot against them. Maybe, he could even get some good recruits out of the ordeal. But if everything turned smoothly, where would be the fun in that? Even verbal retaliation was fun.
He would stand on the top of the van, with his hands in his pant pockets and his signature sadistic smile on his face listening intently to the counter speech that was given. After she was finished, leaving the masses still confused but more in favor of her; the Joker would break the silence by nodding his head and clapping.
”Picture painting? Dear Voice from beyond, I am no artist. All I do is present the truth. Sure, it may not be as convincing as what the military and similar institutions pitch us but it is the raw and unrefined truth”, he would turn and take the sweet time to point towards the major when saying the word military. Then, he would continue: ”You see, when you talk about the military as humans and expect something similar from them what should be expected from non-military; that makes me wonder. Why do they have the fancy weapons and protocols and fancy radios? I mean, they are humans right? Not heroes? Why give them all that stuff and not to some other civilian?”, said the Joker pointing towards guns and radios and again, the major.
”I agree, they are not heroes but they aren’t like us either. They are trained to make decisions that we wouldn’t be able to make under these circumstances. Hence that is what would make them eligible to protect us!”, he said as he got off the van and began heading towards the people. Where more people were still gathered and were ducking a few moments ago thanks to the firing. Now, those people had their heads raised and were just simply confused as to what was going on. Not to blame them though, one minute they are in a safe shelter, the next minute their lives are threatened and now this strange philosophical debate?
”I’d say you were right but.. sadly, voice from beyond. You aren’t. And you know that too.. haha.. the irony of that though.. I mean, if you believed in what you were saying; you’d be the one standing in front of these guns and not me”, he turned again; this time his back was towards the people and he was now facing the major again. Once more, he raised his arms and began laughing maniacally.
The military slightly confused, made one decision: this strangely dressed individual was not an ally thus their guns were once again pointed towards him. ”You see, I’m not really saying I’m not guilty. I’m just saying they are equally guilty. If they were so capable, you wouldn’t be out here, flocking together like sheep. Did you even stop to question, why are you here and not back at your homes? Why are people whose homes survived being herded into these shelters? Why are people who have little to no injuries still being sent to hospitals?”, once more he let out his signature laugh.
He was talking too much and the Major did not like one bit. He was revealing quite a bit of clues about the things that were mean to be kept a secret. ”Enough clowning around, shut up and get down. We’re arresting you for attempting to cause chaos”, said the Major pointing a gun towards the Joker.

Stepping past the van and hopping into hiding in a shrub behind the line of soldiers, Doppler peered through the branches to see that practically no one had seemed to take notice of him. Perfect. He turned his eyes on the nearby gate, broken through by the vehicle, while the man upon whom all attentions were focused went off on another monologue. The guards who had "risen from the dead", as it were, were equally perplexed and distracted by the man in makeup, seemingly having given up on their duties to guard the gate, although their positions remained, which could pose a problem if he wasn't fast enough -- or, even if he was fast enough not to get grabbed, if someone went and shot him regardless.
As he paused in rest and thought, the child listened a little closer to the strange man's speech, scanning the faces of the others around him. Were they befuddled and shaken enough to not be so trigger-happy? Although most of what was being said was pure ridiculous nonsense, Doppler managed to snatch some information regardless, particularly so in that last paragraph before one soldier, whom was more decorated than the rest and seemed to hold himself in the manner of a leader, finally interrupted the laughing stranger.
Well, Doppler was wondering about all that, but he doubted staying here would allow him to fulfill both questions and his desire to leave this place behind. His gaze turned back to the gate when the soldier who had spoken pointed his gun back at the white-faced man, some of the other soldiers seeming to follow suit. He squinted at the guards on the gate, a few of whom had done the same, and waited for an opening.
After a few moments the child rolled his eyes, growing impatient, and cupped a hand halfway around his mouth. Taking one last second to calm his nerves, he called out in a not-very-well disguised voice, which was cast about so that it would seem to come from the opposite end of the yard, away from him: "WHOA! What's that over THERE?"
Then he looked, watching as many eyes seemed to fall for the ruse, and glance that way. This was his shot! Doppler dashed out of the shrubbery, squeezing through the iron gates, and running past the guards. He could hear a shout from behind, and he hastened to try and pick up his pace more than it already was, turning on a dime to slip behind the stony walls, before hurrying like hell to get to some of the ruins that lay beyond the place he'd come from, bobbing and weaving between all manner of cover just in case he was about to get shot at.

"Its been less than thirty-six hours." Jessie stated firmly. If she had a gun she'd be in line to shoot this guy. He sounded reasonable, but he really wasn't. When Jessie was at the hospital she'd been patched up, asked a few questions, assumingly to check for cognitive damage, and asked where she lived, before being told where to go. She was sure that if people had homes to go to outside the effected area, they'd be allowed. There were a slew of displaced people as it was, without keeping crowds which didn't need to be here. "I'm just thankful that someone's checking out what's safe and what isn't before we're let back in lest a weakened house fall on someone's head. They are checking who's alive so they know who's missing, providing food and water, and medical attention, when some of us, all we have left is the clothes on our backs. If your home is still standing then by all means go home," she added, in her head, and take at least one of those who don't with you, cause if they did that it would be a fair way to ensure everyone had a roof over their heads. "but some of us would be going to a place that looks like a bomb struck." She wasn't talking so much for the joker's sake, she'd already decided he was a fool who didn't need to be answered were the conversation private. She spoke out for the sake of those others who had been displaced lest they fall prey to his twisted words. It was easy to make a person who had to wait further unhappy with their station, even if the state was trying to remedy as much as they could as fast as they could. She was actually impressed that the situation post the disaster had been handled so quickly without falling into chaos.

Someone had decided to use the opportunity and make a run for it, while the Joker kept the military occupied in this philosophical dialogue. However, the military, as the Joker had said earlier were trained and knew the appropriate response. Immediately, guns were redirected search lights were shined and a few personnel were dispatched for the one attempting to flee. Getting away from these guys was no option, they were told not to let anyone go before they had been probed appropriately. While some of them had been ‘checked’, the military needed to make sure that all of them would have been checked by the time it was over.
”See!”, said the Joker pointing towards the military immediately set in motion due to the attempt to flee. As a response though, before he could speak; someone’s right hand collided with the Joker’s left cheek sending him down to the ground. Two soldiers had moved closer to him, following the orders of the major and were now going to ‘shut’ him up. While the Joker was restrained, the voice from beyond remained untouched. Obviously, the military had no reason to do anything about a civilian speaking in favor of them.
”Oww, so violent. This is what I’m talking about you know. Professionals, trained people and yet”, he began speaking again but once more, his ‘speech’ was interrupted. This time though, as he was on the ground, a military boot was slammed right into his gut. ”Urgh!”, groaned the Joker taking the damage quite a bit. Not that it would leave a bruise or anything, his body could withstand anything; literally, anything. That doesn’t imply that he didn’t feel pain, he felt it but his body recovered from it.
”Sure, some of us maybe going to a completely ruined home but you’re not to blame for that neither am I. The ones answerable to us are the ones restraining us. If they can’t protect us, then why should they remain so privileged?”, he said as the two soldiers restrained him via handcuffs and picked him up from the ground. ”That’s enough out of you clown!”, said the Major as he pointed the soldiers restraining him towards a military van. ”Take him to the compound. He’ll need special treatment”, said the Major as the soldiers began walking him. The Joker didn’t resist, he began moving in the direction they moved him. Right before he entered the van, he stopped and turned towards the people once more.
”If the one are supposed to protect us can’t, then it falls upon us to protect ourselves. So stand for yourself and take the power that’ll enable you to protect yourselves!” shouted the Joker as he was pushed into the military vehicle and its door shut. The vehicle began moving and slowly moved outside the temporary shelter and school. The sudden noise that had arrived and then the loud conversation that had commenced was finally over. The kind of silence that had existed before was now restored once more.
OOC: I can use this as an exit post, if you guys want the Joker to leave. Also a little heads up, the Joker will be making that ice cream truck explode in my next post. Just a little OOC heads up, I hope you guys are cool with that OOC that is.
If you don't want the Joker to leave and this thread is actually going to progress more, I'll make the Joker return in my next post following the explosion of the ice cream truck.
