Finally the entrance room, but there were more robots waiting for them, some of these were more advanced than the models which they had encountered so far. Add to that the number of paths which lead to and from this place, and there really seemed to be more at a nexus than an exit. Shika slowed. "are you sure this is the way out?" she asked, figuring they would have to go through another one of the halls, since it did not cross her mind that the way out might be up.

Lucky nodded his head. "Yes. This is the way we need to go." He said, remembering which way they needed to go to get to the lift. He tried to figure out how to show Shika this without tripping himself.

Some bots shot projectiles which shika was quick to knock away. hopefully they were not tainted like the ones used to catch her, but shika couldn't afford to be too careful. "well what now?" she demanded, considering they were surrounded. This time around, there wouldn't be much time to make mistakes.

Lucky knew where to go. "This way! We might need to bust the door to the lift open, though." He said as he quickly tried to open it up the normal way.

The lift was an interesting thing, basically lacking door or sides except for some pillars that supported the corners. otherwise the platform was easy to reach. From this point of view it was essentially the roof which needed to open, and should open should the lift be operational. The bigger problem was getting it to operate. There was literally no control panel connected to the lift. A computer voice simply said "access denied"

Lucky growled in frustration. "Damn it!" He said, sending out an electric pulse out of frustration with everything he dealt with inside here so far, trying to look for another way to go.

Some of the robots seemed affected by the energy, glitching enough to not be quite so trigger happy as before. This bought some time, but it did not help with getting anyone through the lift. The lift was probably on a more foolproof circuit than the robots were.
Since at least some of the bots stopped working, Shika began to poke around a little bit, taking cover behind the desk which had previously housed the holographic directory. She didn't understand what she saw, but there were some curious circuits.

Lucky noticed that the robots were acting up too. At least it gave them a little bit more time. He went to where Shika was, but he was trying to find something to use to get the lift working or another way out.

To shika there was nothing to see but electronics and wires. Lucky might be able to make more sense of what was going on here if he could find the right circuts to tamper with. "Where is the exit exactly?" Shika asked in a demanding tone. "If its one door or something lets just blast a hole through."

"The lift is in that door, but it's not opening on its own." Lucky said, pointing to the door he tried before. He then looked at the wires she had and tried to mess with them to see if these would work.

Shika wasn't waiting for lucky to figure out the wires. She left the space behind the desk and suddenly charged the lift. Her horns left a dent but couldn't break through on the first hit. But if she could dent it, she could possibly break through with a few more tries and more power. Yet if she ended up breaking the mechanisms in the door, there would be no way that lucky could wire it open even on the chance that he connected the right circuits.

Lucky heard Shika ramming the door down, and began to pick up the pace with trying to get the wires sorted out so the door and the lift could open up and hopefully grant them freedom.

No good. No good. Having been weakened from the cage environment, and unable to generate enough force in this cramped space meant that even though shika could dent the door, getting through was another issue. Stupid thing would not budge more than a little bit at a time. This was always just enough to Encourage Shika to try again.
By the time lucky managed to wire the door open, it was too bent out of shape to open the whole way. Even so, small creatures should have no problem getting in to the lift shaft.

Lucky felt like he did get the lift door to open, but it wasn't opening all the way. He went to check and saw what had happened. He sighed as he went to get the lift door to open as much as it could. "Can you fit into the gap here?" He asked her, crawling inside first to check what he could do in here, seeing if there was an escape hatch.

Shika might be normally large, but right now she was still small enough to fit through. The shaft was clean, the lift being a simple platform that was connected to tracks in the walls. Fortunately the platform was stuck between floors. It was stopped about 4 feet up from the ground, thus it was possible for shika (and possibly lucky) to climb on. Above the lift was a hatch like sliding doors, stuck partially open, though the gap was smaller than the doors to the room below.
